Junteuchi Men to Mirai

absolutely INSANE ramen! definitely the best Ramen I have ever eaten in my life. And I ate A LOT. Everything was perfect. The broth was rich, with different levels of taste. Don't even let me start talking about the noodles. If you come to this place to eat ramen, be prepared to have a life changing experience because it will change your point of view on ramen and no ramen will taste the same. can't wait to come back🫨🥹

The flavor hits the palate with a vibrant, sapid punch from the very first slurp. • The Toppings: The pork was velvety and tender; the wonton has sharp ginger accent provided a brilliant, refreshing punch. • The curly noodles were perfect for soup-cling, ensuring a high-volume coating of broth in every slurp. The Gaps • Broth: While the initial hit is strong, it feels one-dimensional. The flavor is evanescent, it vanishes too quickly without a resonant aftertaste. • Noodle Texture: The "chew" felt a bit too much. al dente snap would offer a better textural contrast to the rich soup?

I didn’t expect much because of the low rating, but the noodles were amazing. I grew up in Korea and thought I’d tried every kind of noodle, but this was different and one of the best. Super chewy with a nutty adlay flavor, somewhere between mochi and Korean rice cakes. I came by coincidence and it was the best surprise of the trip. The chef was very kind, and I’m sure the line will be much longer once word gets out.

We came in around lunch time on a Friday with a steady stream of people coming by and going. The noodles we ordered we delicious with a clean salty broth with hints of ginger, shrimp wontons and we ordered extra sliced chashu pork. The noodles were surprisingly shaped as thick nobbly noodles but great with a chewy texture and extremely soft. A fun lunch!

We got here just after 12 and had to wait 15 minutes on a Sunday, which didn’t seem too bad. You’re invited to place your order via a machine first and then you are seated when there’s room. A warning that this is a cash only restaurant. I tend to prefer a richer ramen, but the salt ramen here has a good depth of flavour and balance. The service was warm and the music good.

Just go here!!! The ramen noodles were thick and yummy and the broth warmed me right up! Everything was great, I’d love to go back next time I’m in Tokyo. The service was great, and they even helped me break my change when I only had 1,000 yen bills (it’s cash only and the machine does not accept larger bills). If there’s a line, it’s worth the wait!

Visited on a hot Wednesday at dead on 12 O'clock. Not busy, plenty of seats. I've walked by many times at the weekend and there's always a long queue. Great ramen. Got the salt broth @ 1,100 yen. First button on the menu. Great soup, unusual beat up thick ramen noodles, soft boiled egg, buttery melting charshu. Great bowl, perfect for this hot day.

Very unique thick noodle! This place has some very unique, thick chewy noodles. The texture is very similar to mochi. The broth is a seafood base with a light fishy taste, but still has a tasty and complex flavor. The shrimp wonton has a ton of ginger in it which is a refreshing addition. Worth checking out if you are in Shimokitazawa!
