Undoubtedly the most beautiful bookstore in Amsterdam. Even though it’s tiny, it has a great selection of eclectic books, especially Taschen and Monocle. Love this place!

If you love books focused on photography, fashion, travel, lifestyle, cuisine, interior design, architecture, and graphic design, MENDO should be at the top of your Amsterdam itinerary. It’s often dubbed a ‘candy store for book aficionados’. MENDO curate the most beautiful and intriguing books, and the store’s interior is a masterpiece in itself. They also have a few collector’s editions on display in the store. My favorite bookstore ever. Also, special shoutout to Mendo’s website: your mouse cursor gets turned into various objects (an iPad, a tomato, a pair of glasses, etc.) to give you a sense of how big the books you’re ordering are! The attention to detail in-store and online is remarkable.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! This is one of the most beautiful, special bookstores I have ever been to. Very difficult to choose and very difficult to not buy everything! The shop owners are friendly, ready to help and answered all of my silly questions about book stands. Also— they offer coffee and wine, so sit and stay awhile! Will be back on every trip to support this incredible local business.
