Stand in the cold to queue for our table. Took about 45 mins. Staff were very polite and friendly. The broth is on the salty side. Noodles was springy and al dente. A good place to have a simple lunch. They do not have a wide menu. Only 1 choice of broth - Soy Sauce with or without egg which is kind of disappointing. Very authentic and friendly chefs :)

The chef is the sweetest most welcoming man ever! He truly created such a lovely atmosphere to eat it. Not one customer walks in without being greeted and thanked, I was so impressed. The noodles were so delicious, and the portions even when "regular" sized were generous. The pork in the ramen was delicious and the broth was well flavored. I would return off of the energy alone but the ramen would be the extra push to return for sure. We waited for maybe 10-15 minutes outside but the closer to the front of the line you get you can take a seat which is helpful for those who struggle to stand for long periods of time.

All the staff were incredibly friendly and greeted us enthusiastically, with one being particularly helpful throughout our dining experience. There was only 1 item on the menu, with exceptions being an added egg. The ramen was incredible, with noodles cooked to the right texture and a light broth that left me nothing but compliments. would definitely come again

Went with Tabelog rankings. Didn't wait too long. Staff very friendly. With 1,700 yen, bit expensive for (albeit large) ramen (with 200 yen for egg), but there was nevertheless a queue outside. Oerall good experience of flavourful local ramen with friendly staff. Seemed like an example of authentic cuisine, and would recommend.

This is a nice small restaurant serving their famous ramen with curly noodles and soy sauce broth. The taste is light, and the noodles are tangy and delicious. This ramen is one of the best tasting one here in Japan, where every prefecture has its own unique serving and taste of this dish. Certainly a ‘must try food’ if you are visiting Takayama City. Come early and queue outside if you wish to avoid the long queues after they open, cos there are only 3 seating tables accommodating 4 diners each and a short bar counter sitting 6 diners.

Takayama Ramen is so good! Generous portions and the seasoned egg is excellent. All the staff are friendly. Servings come up fast. Broth is light and very flavorful. Will be missed and hopefully will visit again in my next trip to Takayama ❤️

We reached the restaurant 15 mins before lunch opening time . There were 8-9 people ahead of us in the queue. 10 mins before opening time, a staff steps out with the menu card and takes the orders. This reduces the wait time inside and service is pretty quick. Most people finish eating quickly and I saw most finishing the Veges/meat/noodles and eggs but leaving the broth behind. We also could not finish the broth. The choice is between sizes and eggs/no eggs with spice levels. Menu is otherwise the same. Freshly prepared and served. Liked it but wouldn’t rave about the food

Really delicious Ramen! Deep dark color, rich taste and delicious curly noodles with nice toppings. Staff is very friendly and we felt welcome from a very beginning. Highly recommend, awesome place! Arigato gozaimasu!
