A nice ramen restaurant with friendly service. We cue for a while during lunch time, but they manage it very well, we don’t have to wait for long. Has only one type of ramen, you can choose to have eggs or not, serving portion is very big. Tasty noodles with a bit salty to some people. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful, easy to order for foreigners.

There was a long queue at 5 (right before dinner service), however the crowds dissipated as the night went on. We all got different variations of the dandan noodles, mine was specifically the deluxe (?) kurokawa dandan noodles. To be honest it's a little overrated. The broth was very salty, even for ramen standards. As much as I liked the portion size and the toppings, it was difficult to stomach.

This was the best ramen I’ve had in Japan! With a fish allergy it’s been hard to find broth without dashi. Thanks to their soy milk broth I was able to enjoy a spicy bowl with pork (you can also get it as a vegan dish). My husband had a different broth but also agreed it was the best ramen he has had in Japan. The perfectly jammy eggs, so many toppings and being able to customize your spice level… so good! We came back twice when we were in takayama because it was just that good. Go in off times if you’re worried about a line, but the staff are very efficient and keep things moving if you do sit and wait.

Don’t let the line fool you, this place is extremely efficient and WELL worth the wait. We came because of a recommendation from a hotel staff member and they did NOT disappoint. Absolutely delicious. You can tell this ramen is made with love. Everyone seemed so happy and excited to be there and it showed in the flavors. Our only disappointment is that we couldn’t go back again!

This place was freakin' delicious! Maybe I'm crazy, but it was the best ramen I've ever had. It was unique because the noodles were curly (maybe curly isn't the right description), but they had a very nice texture to them, and the broth was so complex. The bamboo. The chasu was very tasty and I don't even like chasu that much (wtf?! I know). And the green onions! Oh my... so much. So good. The egg was so flavorful. My wife and I sat at the bar and got to watch Mune (the owner) do his thing with speed and precision. These guys are rock stars. When we were waiting in line (right at opening so it didn't take long to get in), these guys walked up and greeted us all with such enthusiasm and appreciation. We sat directly in front of him and got to chat to him for a little bit. Very nice guy. Very nice crew. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for some incredibly tasty ramen.

Best ramen in Takayama - and best that we had in Japan. There are only 2 choices -medium/large, egg/no egg. The soup has such an incredible depth of flavor, unique curly noodles are perfectly cooked and the chashu is torched which gives a nice smoky aroma. The chef owner, Shirakawa also has such a great personality and you can really feel the joy that he and all his staff have for sharing their amazing ramen with everyone.

We had a craving and chanced upon this queue at takayama and it turned out to be an excellent choice! great tasty rich broth, slightly torched char shiew and curly bouncy noodles. Portion size was generous, we shared cos we’d just had snacks earlier but slurped it up in no time. Best thing was both owner and staff were so friendly, made the experience even better! Would love to come back again and maybe even to their new joint in Okinawa! ❤️

The best ramen we have had in Japan! The staff were amazing at accommodating allergies and vegetarian preferences. The atmosphere was casual with great art work on display. The broth was amazing and all ingredients were fresh and delicious. It was amazing and all at a reasonable price.
