This was such a great hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I was able to store my luggage, take a shower, and relax comfortably. The facilities were clean, and the atmosphere was really pleasant — I was very satisfied. Thanks to their warm and flexible service, my time in Cairo was much more comfortable. I would genuinely recommend this place to any traveler!

I had a great stay at Meramees Hostel and would definitely recommend it to budget travelers looking for a clean and friendly place to stay in Cairo. The room was simple but comfortable, and the bed was surprisingly good — firm and supportive, which made a real difference after long days of exploring the city. One of the highlights for me was the cleanliness of both the room and the shared bathrooms. The toilets were well-maintained throughout my stay, which is not always the case with hostels in this price range. It felt like the staff put in effort to keep the common areas and facilities in good shape, and that added to the overall sense of comfort. When I first arrived, the air conditioning in my room wasn’t working, which was a bit of a letdown considering the Cairo heat. However, the staff handled it well. After I mentioned it, they were responsive and got it repaired within a few days. I appreciated the fact that they didn’t brush off the issue and followed through with fixing it. I especially want to mention Manga, one of the staff members. He was very helpful and attentive throughout my stay. Whether it was helping with directions, arranging transportation, or just checking in to see if I needed anything, Manga consistently made the experience more welcoming. Overall, Meramees Hostel offers great value for money. It’s a no-frills kind of place, but it delivers on the things that matter most: a clean bed, decent amenities, and a staff that cares. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in Cairo.

We got here very early in the morning but it was no problem at all and they checked us in imidiatly and even gave us free breakfast! The elevator seems a bit sketchy at first but is really cool to use an old one and it is totaly safe. The rooms were good and the bed comfortable. The people who work there Mijo are super friendly and they gave us loads of recommendations for places to see or to go out to eat something. Definitely will stay here again next time I'll visit Cairo. The food places nearby are grear aswell!!

I had the most wonderful stay at Hotel Meramees cairo . From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with exceptional hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, and I truly felt like I was at home. The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding; my room was spotless and well-maintained throughout my stay. The homely atmosphere made it even more special, and I was able to relax and unwind easily. A special shoutout to Manga, who made my experience even better! Manga was incredibly warm, helpful, and attentive, always making sure that I had everything I needed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay!

Meramees Hostel|January 2025. |First time to Egypt and Cairo. I arrived at midnight after being met outside the airport arrivals hall by a driver the hostel had pre-arranged. Manga at the front desk got me checked in, showed me to my room and worked with me on connecting to the good and fast wifi. Then he kindly brought me fresh, hot coffee with milk. So needed after 20 hours of various flights and transfers. He proceeded to bring me a coffee every morning of a six night stay as I am an early riser and always got up before the conclusion of his overnight shift.||I booked a double (twin) en-suite room at this hostel. The location is easy walking distance of Tahrir Square and Sadat Metro stop. The ensuite bath had a stand up shower with plenty of good pressure hot water. Sheets and towels provided. The beds were comfortable for both of us. In January the thick duvet was perfect for the cool nights. There was an armoire with hanging space, shelves and two spare blankets. This room also had a small fridge. I have already booked Meramees Hostel again for when I return to Cairo in a couple weeks.|||Food and drinks:|Probably the best hostel breakfast in Cairo. Huge portion of Pita, ful, fresh tomato, cucumber and carrot, wrapped cheese portions, egg and hot coffee. Will keep you going. I filled the pita pockets I couldn’t finish with the leftover bits for later.

Bad experience. Old building. Very old and risky elevator. Employees at reception are not welcoming at all ,asked to cancel reservation at booking to evade taxes and commission. Rooms are old and the beds had bugs causing me allergy and itching the whole night. I couldn't stay more than one night. Even the AC is not functioning well . Not going your way this place ever again.
