Meramees Hostel فندق ميراميس

I was been taken to Meramees from Australian hostel because it was overbooked though i paid. When i reach, there was some discussions and i am sure the guys are not happy and the receptionist was not welcoming. His attitude was like i came there to stay for free. In the previous hostel i paid including the breakfast when i was taken here they said its without breakfast though they charge more than the previous hostel. Overall ambience was not really great. i was being put in the upper floor where they pay less attention. there was cat poop in the sofa and was stinky. there is no proper monitoring in terms of cleanliness in the upper floor. then i had to go reception and tell them to clean it.

This was a beautiful hotel very clean the beds are so comfortable. Ac unit is great and refrigerator works wonderful. Mustafa was amazing he helped us so much! He let us check in super early when our check in was at 1pm and he also allowed us to check out late which helped us tremendously! He was super nice and very helpful,.

Good location. Very clean. Good price. GREAT staff! I recommend. And also they offer breakfast but added to room payment.

I arrived at night and was told they did not have the room with private bathroom I booked, all while making me wait more than 30 minutes at the reception. Did not want to cancel my reservation and wanted to take me to another hotel I did not book.

For the money it was ok but my real issue was having 2 of my t shirts ruined during the laundry service they offer. At first the man at reception acted like it wasn’t them and wasn’t their problem then later I got a message saying they would refund me the £2 it cost for laundry. I mentioned buying 2 new t shirts would cost much more than that but got no reply. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone

This was such a great hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I was able to store my luggage, take a shower, and relax comfortably. The facilities were clean, and the atmosphere was really pleasant — I was very satisfied. Thanks to their warm and flexible service, my time in Cairo was much more comfortable. I would genuinely recommend this place to any traveler!

I had a great stay at Meramees Hostel and would definitely recommend it to budget travelers looking for a clean and friendly place to stay in Cairo. The room was simple but comfortable, and the bed was surprisingly good — firm and supportive, which made a real difference after long days of exploring the city. One of the highlights for me was the cleanliness of both the room and the shared bathrooms. The toilets were well-maintained throughout my stay, which is not always the case with hostels in this price range. It felt like the staff put in effort to keep the common areas and facilities in good shape, and that added to the overall sense of comfort. When I first arrived, the air conditioning in my room wasn’t working, which was a bit of a letdown considering the Cairo heat. However, the staff handled it well. After I mentioned it, they were responsive and got it repaired within a few days. I appreciated the fact that they didn’t brush off the issue and followed through with fixing it. I especially want to mention Manga, one of the staff members. He was very helpful and attentive throughout my stay. Whether it was helping with directions, arranging transportation, or just checking in to see if I needed anything, Manga consistently made the experience more welcoming. Overall, Meramees Hostel offers great value for money. It’s a no-frills kind of place, but it delivers on the things that matter most: a clean bed, decent amenities, and a staff that cares. I’d definitely stay here again next time I’m in Cairo.
