#1 groceries and fishing The different market stalls offer a wide variety of groceries, bakery products and fish. All products, especially the fish tho, are lined up carefully to pose for the endless camera lenses pointed at them. #2 architecture This represents the perfect harmony of old and modern market place architecture. The long extended straight roofs form a sort of hall way for the customer to wait in the shade.

Google
A huge indoor fish market , which is just great to wander through . Made me wish I was self catering because the fish and seafood was all super fresh and really good value too ! The market has meat and cheese stalls , along with a few others , which circle the outside . There are a few bars and cafes down at the bottom end , but be ready to speak Spanish ! Try your best , they appreciate it ! Great place to explore .

This one is not as good as the one in Madrid or Barcelona, However it still has many choices for seafood. We enjoyed the deep fried shrimps and little fishes for our afternoon snack. Very fresh and tasty. Excellent.

Google
Amazing place to be. With a great hyper positive atmosphere you will enjoy the best food for an incredible low price. Almost no tourists around ( but us) u will smell the sweet air of Spanish food/good living. We had several small dishes which u eat at the tables around and enjoy nice wine for 2.5 euro per glass. Definitely a place to learn Spanish culture:-)

Google
A terrific outdoor food market for eating and tasting a variety of foods options. Great beets, wines etc at all stands. If you like seafoods your will really enjoy the variety. Come before 2pm as it quietens down then and closes shortly afterwards,

Nice local fish built in 1838. A lot of food stalls for food and drink. Good to go for lunch. The market opens 9am-3.30pm. Some food stalls stay open for dinner, but a lot less choices.

Google
Absolutely love this market. It’s so good for fresh seafood. I love the tapas and seafood stalls outside where you can get food. The best food there is the seafood, plates of prawns for €10. I wouldn’t recommend the croquettes from there just because they end up being okay, but you could eat so much better things. The little sandwich bites are nice. But definitely get seafood and shell fish it’s just so nice. The fried pork belly is also nice. Get a cold beer and seafood. Just the best. So many locals here at lunch just chilling and eating and drinking. Be mindful it will be hard to get seating. Also avoid when they drop off the cruise ship mass tourists! They busy the place up and are so slow to order

Yelp
Mercado Central de Abastos de Cádiz is the central market in the city. It contains dozens of business stalls that sell meats, fishes, vegetables, fruits, baked goods, spices, wines, and more. My tour guide took my husband and me to this market. We walked around to browse the selection of foods. Both local residents and tourists seemed to shop here. I was on vacation, so I had no need for ingredients for home cooking, so I bought just delicious cookies from a bakery. The other foods looked like they were offered in a huge variety and were very fresh.

Yelp
Amazing market area with lots of local food. Got to try a few different things and all were delicious and super fresh. It was pretty easy to find a table since it's a casual spot and people are constantly in and out. Quick service as well. I definitely recommend on your trip to Cadiz!

Yelp
This Central Market caters to both locals and tourists...for the locals, they can get fresh meat, fish and other daily necessities here. For the tourists (and locals too) there are dozens of food stalls where you can chose from sushi to empanadas to fish sandwiches. The day we arrived, a holiday, the market did not open until 12 noon...but by mid afternoon, the place was so packed, it was difficult to walk around, let alone order or find an empty table to sit. None of the fresh meat stalls were open during our visit...just the restaurants..... We loved the vibe and the variety of food you can get here....most items are less than 5-6 euros each...so taste away.....

Yelp
Sadly we arrived in Cadiz on a Sunday and the Central Market was closed. However, there were hundreds of people selling their wares up and down the street just outside the market place. We had a great time walking up and down looking at all the different things. We did go to the side of the market and found all kinds of small booths selling Tapas, pizzas, drinks and various foods. We had fun sampling food at several of them.

Yelp
Maybe I was there on the wrong day, but we stopped by about 9:45am, and again around 1:30pm and half of the stalls were closed. The ones that were open had fish, meats and produce.

Yelp
You simply must go to this market - just wandering around it is one of the highlights of Cadiz. Don't go too late - by mid-afternoon, everything is starting to close up. I loved walking past the stalls of bright fresh produce, and especially the central aisles selling fresh fish. The best part, however, is to buy some fresh fish and take it to the stall in the corner (well one of the four corners). I can't remember what it's called, but there is a guy there who will cook up the fresh fish for you for a pittance (like 3 euros a plate). We bought tuna and salmon, both fresh and never frozen, and then carried them straight over to this guy. We enjoyed a beer from the stall across the hall while we waited at a table, and then our gorgeous fish was brought out to us. Served on lovely ceramic plates, the fish was absolutely divine - as fresh as could be, cooked perfectly, seasoned lightly, and served with some fresh vegetables. This is the best lunch you can find in Cadiz. So even if you aren't staying somewhere with a kitchen, it is still worth going here and having a fresh fish lunch!

Yelp
Saw this place twice...different each time! Went over about 10pm and there were 15 or so stalls open as previously recounted in the other review. Saw a pic here of the sushi bar but what I saw did not have the product visible and had cups of instant noodles (as kitsch or what?)... We had crepes both savory and a sweet and they were quite good. My hope us that it catches on as a night place... We also walked thru during the early afternoon and it was filled with the fish and fruit and veggie offerings...free sample led to a half kilo of sweet cherries. Great place to learn all the names for food.
