It's not just tourists who eat and shops here, the locals do too. They've got local stuff, food, fresh produce, drinks, souvenirs, and even pisco. I love chicken soup, and a bunch of places sell it, but only the one on the corner is packed. It's so good, with a savory broth and juicy chicken. There are also lots of fresh fruit juice stands, and they're all good. They squeeze it fresh, no ice, no sugar, it's so fresh and delicious. You should check out this market before 10 am, otherwise, it'll be super crowded.

Our tour guide took us here and introduced us to some native fresh fruit and get to try few of them on the spot. Great experience. This is a genuine market place for the locals but also mixes in few tourists groups. It very humbling to see how hard people work here and how lucky we are.

This is a fresh market with a wide variety of local souvenirs and food at very affordable prices. If you're looking to buy souvenirs to take home, this is the place to stop. Even on your way to the market, you'll find locals selling goods along the roadside at very reasonable prices.

If you want a genuine taste of local life, skip the tourist restaurants and head here. This market, partially designed by Gustave Eiffel, is a sensory overload in the best way. It’s the best place to try an authentic Peruvian lunch at a fraction of the price, or grab a glass of freshly squeezed, exotic fruit juice. You’ll find mountains of local produce, amazing cheeses, and affordable alpaca souvenirs. Be brave, explore the food stalls, and experience the real Cusco!

I ate such delicious healthy local food here cooked by the Indigenous women everyday during my week-long stay. I don’t understand why many tourists don’t eat here! Lunch with generous portions of a soup and entre for 8 soles or $2.5. Highly recommend and please tip them if you can even if it’s not expected :)

This is a great spot to visit if you are spending some days in Cusco to acclimatise to the altitude. The market itself is mostly inside so it is perfect for a rainy day. There are different sections for fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, souvenirs and lunch. There are also stands where you can buy freshly made fruit smoothies. These were really tasty and made fresh. The meat1section can smell quite bad so don’t spend too much time here. You can also get souvenirs here. It seemed like we were charged normal prices and the people did not try to scam tourists here. We paid the normal prices everywhere.

Mercado Central de San Pedro is a must-visit if you’re in Cusco! It’s a lively, colorful market full of local flavor and culture. You’ll find everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to handmade textiles, souvenirs, natural remedies, and traditional snacks. It’s a great place to walk around, explore, and experience everyday life in Cusco. We picked up a few unique gifts and tried some local treats—it’s definitely more affordable than many tourist shops nearby, though still very much a tourist spot. If you’re just looking for fruits and veggies, you might find cheaper prices at smaller, local neighborhood markets. But if you’re looking for a mix of shopping, culture, and a fun local vibe, San Pedro Market is the place to go! Just keep an eye on your belongings and enjoy the experience.

What an amazing cultural experience we had just walking around and visiting the meany vendors. From souvenirs, to Peruvian chocolates, and even food there is something for everyone. We felt very safe despite the crowds. The people for the most part were very friendly and willing to strike up deals.
