Best market in the world, according to a US magazine. I am not sure, because I have not visited them all. But definitely worth the trip. Come early, closed on Mondays. Bread, pastries, meat, fish, oysters, vegetables, fruit and cosy bars/breakfast place like Bloomy Market and toilets. Enjoy! Like if this was helpful, please. Thanks

Super cool market that closes around 1 as vendors were backing up around 12:30ish. All sorts of giant fresh veggies, all kinds of fish, seafood and 2 huge swordfish. Several butchers and cheese and pastry counters. Even a nuts shop. Plus a few eateries around the perimeter. A couple of tiny gift shops too. Beautiful huge blue and yellow tile work at the entrances and a massive one along the back wall indoors.

The mercado was so lively and the products of fresh fruit, veggies, fish, shellfish were fantastic!

Beautiful space. You can definitely see the freshness in the ingredients. I love the space dedicated to Vitória F.C.

Interesting experience and view. Area outside is full of old style charm.

It is well worth a visit, and you need to go early. Friendly vendors, fresh seafood, vegetables and fruits, very lively and pleasant.

Wonderful traditional coveted market with several dozen vendors. Lots of fresh fish, meat, fruit, vegetables, flowers, nuts, olives, bread, pastries, and more. Several restaurants also operate from the market. Open every day until 2:00 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.
