Mercato Coperto in Ravenna is a delightful culinary gem that captures the essence of Italian culture. This vibrant market features a wide array of fresh produce, artisanal cheeses, and local delicacies, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the region's gastronomic offerings. The lively atmosphere, paired with friendly vendors, makes shopping here an enjoyable experience. Don’t miss the chance to savor authentic Ravenna flavors, from handmade pasta to delectable pastries. A must-visit for food lovers exploring the city! The posh restaurants in the heart of the city come with a price of course, so the prices are on the salty side...

We had a nice experience at this restaurant, even though there were a few funny moments. The staff seemed a bit panicked at first because most of them didn’t speak English — only one waiter was able to communicate with us. Because of this, we had to wait a little longer, but everything worked out in the end, and the atmosphere remained pleasant. We ordered an americano (coffee), but instead, they brought us a cocktail! It was an unexpected but actually very nice surprise. In the end, we got both the cocktail and the coffee — and were charged for both. I had the cream soup, which was absolutely delicious. Then I tried the fresh wild-caught fish, served with potatoes — and I have to say, it was the best fish I’ve ever eaten. We also noticed that around 3 PM there were fewer people, which made it even more enjoyable. The total bill came to €60, and it was definitely worth it.

This is a Must Visit! Why do we not have these in Chicago?! Full butcher shop: lamb, pork, beef - everything. Full fishery - all sorts of fresh cuts. Casual restaurants for sandwiches or Italian foods. And nice “table cloth” spaces too. We had a sandwich for lunch. Bought fruit and chips at the coop grocery for snacks. Decided to have dinner at the fish market as their tables we set just slightly more formal and their fresh fish for sale along with their fish salads looked great. Arrived for dinner. Our name was written on a placard and was holding our table. Two bags of bread were on the table for us to start. We ordered mussels and a ravioli stuffed with sea bass as n appetizer. The ravioli look more like tortellini and they were stuffed well with white Sea Bass. Delicious. We used bread to soak up the sauce. Next course was flash fried seafood mix with vegetables for 2. Sooo much food. Also delicious! Too stuffed for more. Food and two glasses of wine each plus a bottle of water was $90. Can’t beat it!! Another thing is their menu was really great as it explained a superior way of raising / sourcing the Happy Pigs! and explained all the cheeses.

The place is very nice and has a plenty of choice going from the local capital to the Emilio Romagna typical salami and cured meats, also available is a fresh fish for you with the local wine taste. This is all into an immersive atmosphere that allows you to enjoy the food and location while visiting one of the nicest city around the Romagna coast.

If you're ever in Ravenna this place is well worth a visit. Great produce all around. Some lovely places to sit and eat or just sit down with a glass of wine and people watch. Also it has a small supermarket which is quite handy.

I had the best pasta I had in my entire trip here. It was so fresh and delicious, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. It was a pleasant surprise for us, we would have come back many more times if it wasn’t for us leaving.

The most impressive and beautiful Market I’ve ever seen. Very well decorated with old antique and retro furniture. Lot of meat and not so many vegetarian option, but they have a COOP mini market and a nice Cafe.

Great little bar for a drink and a light snack. We stopped in for a drink and a sandwich. While we sat and ate our food and drank our drinks, it was so good we went to the bar for more. There is no table service. Despite there being 2 staff behind the bar and no other customers, it took them 10 mins to serve me whilst they chatted amongst themselves. My husband went up 15 mins later to order coffee and deserts. 3 people who came to the bar after him were served first. He's 6 feet 4 inches tall, you can't miss him, he was simply ignored. We left without coffee or desert. Such a shame as it was a lovely place.
