Mercato Coperto

I had the best pasta I had in my entire trip here. It was so fresh and delicious, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did. It was a pleasant surprise for us, we would have come back many more times if it wasn’t for us leaving.

If you're ever in Ravenna this place is well worth a visit. Great produce all around. Some lovely places to sit and eat or just sit down with a glass of wine and people watch. Also it has a small supermarket which is quite handy.

Great little bar for a drink and a light snack. We stopped in for a drink and a sandwich. While we sat and ate our food and drank our drinks, it was so good we went to the bar for more. There is no table service. Despite there being 2 staff behind the bar and no other customers, it took them 10 mins to serve me whilst they chatted amongst themselves. My husband went up 15 mins later to order coffee and deserts. 3 people who came to the bar after him were served first. He's 6 feet 4 inches tall, you can't miss him, he was simply ignored. We left without coffee or desert. Such a shame as it was a lovely place.

Modern marketing with a lot to offer in terms of local food. Really appreciated the pasta I ate there. Highly recommend it for tourists visiting Ravenna.

@quique_alias_rico: When I first stepped into mercato coperto in Ravenna, I felt at home. It's not just the architecture and the design and ambience inside, but the concept of the cooperative. Here you can not only buy regional products, but also eat them. Here you don't meet salesmen, but communicative, friendly and helpful people who like to talk about their products. You can watch flour being made into bread or pasta, which you can then buy fresh or eat in one of the restaurants with a glass of exquisite wine. I can't stop praising this place and it’s concept.

Great place to shop and eat with lots of intricately prepared small treats

Surprisingly a very upscale Mercato when compared to ones that we visited in Bologna and Firenze. It is large and airy with a great selection of specialty food stands and 1 or 2 restaurants and a coffee stand. There is even a small grocery store. It is very quiet and there are not a lot of tourists despite the draw of the monuments or landmarks with mosaics. Would definitely stop here for coffee, a meal, snacks, or food items were I in this city in the future.

Not really impressed at all! Steak came without asking how we wanted it to be cooked. Services was very rush and pushing. Both dishes are not really happy with. More average than wow. I Won’t consider to go back again. Avoid this place in pov, won’t worth it to lose a day of dinner to come here.
