A privately owned hotel run by the family that have lived there. This hotel has been renovated a few years ago and the rooms are of a high standard. The host and his family could not do enough and the breakfast was really good. The location is ideal for exploring Ponte de Lima. Would highly recommend.

Mercearia da Vila is a delightful place, full of warmth and history and ease.|Mr. Melo greeted me by name upon arrival, and went out of his way to be sure our rented motorcycle was parked safely and securely.|He provided an excellent dinner recommendation, didn't balk when we locked ourselves out, and he treated us to a breakfast feast replete with an interesting, informative conversation about the amazing artifacts that line the main room. |Such a sweet man and such a sweet place, not to mention a lovely comfortable room!|

Great location, we had a 2nd floor room with balconies on 2 sides and views down to the river and mountains beyond. Appreciated the a/c , the guests kitchen and lounge and the breakfast room is like sitting in a museum full of grocery store memorabilia. Owner took good care of us. Nothing to fault.

Such a lovely hotel! Very charming interior in good style. I enjoyed 2 nights here and everything was perfect. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Book in advance since there are just a few rooms.

Lovely experience! Such welcoming, enjoyable & gracious hosts. They truly went over the top in helping us. The place is charming, immaculate, oozing of pride & loving care. They unquestionably accepted a delivery of a replacement bike (tired Camino cyclists) that showed up unannounced in a giant cardboard box in their limited sized reception entry and then proceeded to help us unpack the new bike & then discarded the cardboard for us. We would HIGHLY recommend this charming place with terrific view of old town & the bell tower, great breakfast with cheerful attitudes!! 👏

We stayed here while walking the Portuguese Camino, we could not have been made to feel more welcome from the time we arrived, very hot from a days walking and being offered chilled water and homemade biscuits ( delicious) to the time we left when we were given more biscuits and supplies for our days walking. ||The hotel is very central, clean and the decor in keeping with its heritage. ||Thank you both

This was a former village grocer store and has kept many original features of it, for example, the breakfast room is still laid out as the store would have been many years ago.|The hotel is small centrally located with approx 8 rooms and provides only bed and breakfast which was continental in style (fresh orange juice to die for). Note there is no lift but the hotel was modernised and well maintained. Rooms were spacious and clean and in our room one of the balconies overlooked the church and the river beyond.|The proprietor was friendly and helpful and would certainly stay again.
