With a little trepidation my wife and I decided to have our first Christmas away from the hustle and bustle of entertaining family. What an excellent decision we made to spend our Christmas at Merchants Manor. Without exception all the staff were friendly, efficient and made us feel at home. The food was excellent and we enjoyed a fantastic seven course christmas lunch. The hotel was beautifully decorated and we loved the 'chocolate table'. We stayed in the main hotel and our room was lovely. Enjoyed a swim and sauna on boxing day. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff (not that my wife and I are demanding) and it was lovely to meet other couples enjoying their Christmas. Absolutely recommend the hotel and we would have no hesitation in visiting again. Thank you to all at Merchants Manor for making our Christmas so enjoyable

Our 2nd Visit to Merchants manor for 6 nights over the Christmas period. We were welcomed & checked in on arrival by Simon who helped carry our bags to our room. He pointed out the Christmas programme & what to expect over the festive period. The staff were friendly & some remembered us from our visit 6 months earlier. We were able to park close to the main entrance & felt our car was secure. Throughout our stay all the staff were polite, helpful & friendly & appeared genuinely interested. We enjoyed a full & varied breakfast each day & were able to sit with views over the garden & sea beyond. The room was large & comfortable so we were able to relax between our visits to see family locally. Being Christmas we chose to spend time in the lounges socialising with other guests, enjoying drinks & an abundance of chocolate that was available to help ourselves each day. Over the festive break (3/7) all meals were provided . We were very pleased with the quality, variety and portions although Christmas lunch was a banquet which exceeded our expectations & appetites. Sioned, Simon & the team made us feel like house guests rather than customers & they clearly put a lot of thought & effort into making it a success. Singles, couples & groups were all seen relaxed & interacting as much or as little as suited them & we certainly felt at home sat on big sofas beside the log fire. There was always a senior member of staff around to ensure residents were welcome & happy. When we left Simon showed us the rooms in the main house so we could choose our favourite for our next stay. |We’d never stayed in a hotel for Christmas before, however we were so pleased we chose Merchants Manor where we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & even Santa found us and left a thoughtful gift outside our door on Christmas morning.

A return trip to this delightful hotel and spa. With excellent and attentive staff, comfortable and relaxing rooms and a great breakfast of local produce, this has everything one would look for in a perfect Cornish setting. It comes complete with on site parking, is only an easy ten minute walk to the centre of Falmouth, and has a comfy and quite beautifully luxurious bar area(s). I am already planning my return. Bravo, and deserving of more than 5 stars! Dr. KG.

Such a beautiful hotel! 2nd time we’ve been and would definitely be coming back a lot more often. The rooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful should you need anything. The breakfast is so yummy and has lots of options. Not forgetting the pool area feels so luxurious and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Our experience at Merchants Manor is always so welcoming and super comfortable. The staff are absolutely lovely and always so helpful and friendly. The breakfast is a great healthy meal before or after the spa. I always feel completely relaxed and rejuvenated after my visit and highly recommend a stay. We also find the value amazing when it comes to the Sunday offer. We will be back again soon !

Positives -Nice spacious, quiet room with comfy bed. -Incredible 30 minute massages with Mia. Negatives -Barely got a smile from Simon on arrival, neither did he ask how our stay was when checking out. -Was not shown the “spa” so had to navigate our way around ourselves. The package included “use of garden hot tubs” - we had to go on a hunt to find these. They were grotty and the wooden decking with slippery and filthy! -The pool was cold. -Below average breakfast, really not enjoyable at all. The juice glasses given were shot glasses, which did make us laugh. -Prior to our stay, i had emailed (twice) asking for evening meal menu, was looking forward to a Sunday Roast, but no reply. Asked again when checking in, only to be told that there was no chef so no evening meals! We are thankful to Mia for the wonderful 30 minute massages, and grateful for a peaceful night sleep however, the rest of our stay was below average. We would not recommend this place.

We went there to stay for three nights over Christmas. We did not have to sign in on a computer as some previous people have complained about. We arrived early but were greeted and shown into the lounge and given coffee while we waited. My wife and I had a ground floor "dog friendly"room as we had our little dog with us. A standard hotel layout. I was pleased that we had control of the heating in the room and we could open the window, which you can not do in some "Chain" hotels with air conditioning. Our sons were on the first floor with a larger room with a seating area and balcony. We had a small afternoon tea and then a very good three course dinner. Christmas day, full English breakfast for me but a choice of different meals were available. Christmas lunch went on for three hours, seven courses in all, fabulous. In the evening a cold platter of various meats etc if you were hungry. Boxing day repeat breakfast afternoon tea, hot chocolate and Christmas cake followed by a three course dinner. Excellent service and friendly staff. Plenty of parking. The gym is very well equipped and a good swimming pool. All within walking distance of the town. The dog was allowed in the library which had comfortable seating

Booked a "comfy" room for the Xmas week with the property beautifully decorated for the festive season. We considered the room fully lived up to it's description with the | bedding exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast, included in our booking, was to a high standard giving us a good start daily throughout our stay.
