Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel

We enjoyed a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff are so friendly, helpful and also very professional. We were upgraded to the junior suite which was fabulous. The hotel itself is a beautiful building right on the seafront offering excellent food and drinks in the tastefully decorated bar/restaurant area which has a lovely ambiance. It’s almost opposite the bandstand so a really good location too. I would definitely recommend it. We’ll be back.

This is a great Hotel right on sea front , easy walking distance to Town Centre. Quirky interesting entrance lobby and bar . Staff friendly and well presented . I was travelling on my own and had room only . This was spotless and comfortable , good temperature , comfy bed. I have stayed some years ago and breakfast was good. I would recommend and will definitely stay again as very good value .

This was a nice hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was clean. The lobby was very beautifully decorated, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The bar was lovely and a nice place to have a drink. The location was nice and easy walking distance to the town. Across the road was a lovely cafe ‘The Meeting Place Kitchen’ where we had a delicious breakfast. Our room was nice but there was not a lot of storage to put your clothes anywhere so we ended up having to put them on the floor. As we had an inland room and you had a door that faced out onto a courtyard/other rooms we of course had to keep the curtains closed which meant the room being quite dark a lot of the time. You can also hear a lot of noise from other guests with people slamming doors. It was a nice two night stay for what we paid but we have had a nicer stay in other hotels.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Brighton Seafront Hotel, and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel occupies a grand Victorian landmark with beautiful period features and a charming mews, perfectly blending Regency 19th-century elegance with its stunning seafront location. The floors had a charming creak to them, adding to the character of the place and its historic feel. The staff were fantastic: friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout my stay. Breakfast with a sea view was nice and the overall atmosphere was both relaxing and refined. It’s the perfect place to unwind while soaking up the classic seaside charm of Brighton. I had a truly enjoyable time here and will definitely be back!

From check in to check out it was very warm and comfortable experience. We were lucky to stay in sea view rooms(309 and 409) as hotel is situated right on the beach. Very comfortable beds and well equipped rooms. Bar had good selection of drinks and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Having good coffee machine in the room was a nice bonus too. Looking forward to our next visit as we will definitely stay here again.

Very professional check in. Staff are very good here. We stayed in a mews room, small and clean. Some areas of the hotel are tired. Carpets in hallways of mews needed a thorough vacuum. Breakfast room is too small for the size of the hotel. To be fair we were advised to come early to breakfast. We had to take our breakfast to the bar area to eat, this was fine. However, on busy breakfast times it would be beneficial to have breakfast provisions made available in the bar area, coffee, juice and continental items. A simple buffet table would really help and save having to keep going back and queuing in the breakfast room. Thank you for our stay

We hosted our Kingsway Care 2025 Awards at the Mercure Brighton Seafront and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From booking through to the event itself, the team were absolutely fantastic — supportive, responsive and genuinely kind. Nothing felt like too much trouble, including last-minute changes, and their calm, professional approach made a huge difference. They even helped serve desserts on the night, which really says a lot. The hotel looked beautiful. Our guests were blown away by the Christmas tree, the ballroom and the overall atmosphere — it felt special and very well looked after. Catering for 90 people is no small task, but the dinner was excellent and we received brilliant feedback from our guests. It exceeded expectations. One small suggestion for future events would be improved accessibility — a ramp would have helped some visitors, particularly while the lifts were temporarily out of service. We managed fine in the end, but worth noting. Overall, a genuinely successful evening and a wonderful team to work with. We’d happily return and would absolutely recommend the Mercure for events.

Fantastic room. Lovely king size bed and views. My Sister was treated as she was celebrating her hen do. Marianna couldn’t have been more helpful and lovely. Thank you for a brilliant stay!

After a long work day at I arrived at 21:45 to find the restaurant closed at 21:30 It's a hotel opposite the sea so if you want a good location to see some local life and to explore the back streets of Brighton you could do worse than her. Parts of the hotel feel dated, walking along the ground floor corridors, inside the lift. My room was on the 3rd floor, not with a sea view but I wasn't here for the view and I'm sure if you ask for one when booking you might get one. My room was small but functional so no complaints from me. The bath/shower room was fresh so I guess an update has taken place in recent years. For an over night stay it works well, travelling light for work means not a lot of baggage which is good as I'm not sure what you would do with a suitcase! The staff I met was polite even though she couldn't get the kitchen opened for me but allowed me to order some food via Deliveroo, at least I could get some food! If you come with your own car the car park at the rear of the hotel is tiny, you've been warned!'

I had my reception here last year in August. The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating and kind - examples being supplying a fish dish only for my Mum, and keeping my brother's meal hot whilst my little niece had a meltdown. I didn't have to lift a finger all day, the hotel staff ensured the decorators had everything they needed, the room looked beautiful, the food was amazing, and the events coordinator even bought myself and my husband a drink. Only downsides were that the rooms were very warm with no air con (although staff immediately provided a fan) and were a little tatty for some of our guests. Lovely hotel overall :)
