Unbelievably bad service at this hotel. I had stayed here previously, and wanted to get two adjoining rooms. I was nearby and tried to go into the hotel and book. My wife and I were physically blocked from going into the hotel and questioned ! I left, and then tried on 5 separate occasions in the next few hours to get through to reception to understand the pricing and options, but never had the ability to connect with the switchboard. It was truly awful service, and I will never stay there again

You can't book it; hotel has been seconded for foreigners new to the UK|This hotel and the nearby Holland House on Redcliffe Hill are in the same situation.|There are many events planned in the centre of Bristol in the summer months, losing valuable rooms right next to the docks is not good.

Stayed for one night and had a nice, spacious room looking out onto the river. I liked the modern ambience of my room, however the bed was a bit too hard for my liking and I could hear a lot of noise coming from the riverside and the corridors, so it didn't seem like it was very well soundproofed. However I still managed to get a good nights sleep, probably more because I'd already had quite a few beers lol, so these issues were just minor. However the best thing about this hotel is the city centre location. Nicely perched on the riverside and just mere seconds to all the nice craft beer pubs on King Street. Will stay again!

We were transferred from the Brigstow. Lovely manager called us and explained the situation which was fine - especially as the Grand has a pool and spa (or so the website claims). It seems that these facilities have been closed for years (even pre-covid). The first time we called the hotel to confirm our booking, the hotel didn't yet have the details of it transferred over and didn't say the spa was closed (even when we asked about it). It was only when we were on route to the hotel that this was clarified on the phone. Structurally the hotel is fine (though corridors can be noisy especially if your room is near a partition door which residents seem to allow to slam all night long). Rooms were hot, requiring permanent use of air con. The location is great, and the street vibrant. It's the dirtiness that put us off ... the stairs up to the rooms looked as if they hadn't been hoovered in an age. Our bed didn't even have a mattress protector on it, and the bathroom had black bits all over! The whole place seemed to run on minimal staff, which we'd have sympathy for in the current conditions, if the hotel were clear and honest about it. There wasn't a daily room service. Again, we'd understand this, but don't understand why this wasn't communicated at check in - we had to chase for clean mugs and toilet paper which our rooms kept running out of. Sad to say we won't be back.

Very friendly and accommodating staff who were always there to help. The room for the price was absolutely fantastic! It was well furnished, the bed was comfortable and the bath had a TV in it which was a surreal yet fun addition! The hotel is in a great location for the local night life and places to eat and it wasn't loud either and I got a great nights sleep. I would hugely recommend here over any of the other similar priced hotels.

This hotel is fine but there are a few things that need to be pointed out. First, the rooms are very comfortable but would benefit from a small redecorating. They are a bit old fashioned and, in my opinion, tacky. The bathroom contains a bathtub and a shower area which is great but when you look closer, the equipment is old and a bit run down. The doors are not very well sound insulated so it is quite common to hear people in the hallway. The breakfast is good if you like the regular British breakfast. It lacks sweet options and mostly offer savoury items.

Really enjoyed our stay here; room was waterside facing with two windows as a corner plot offering panoramic views. Had some noise overnight (Friday night) with people drunkenly passing, but nothing unbearable. Bed was comfortable, room adequately supplied, and the little tv in the bathroom was a fun touch! Breakfast offered a nice selection, though catering could have monitored supply more regularly, instead of before things ran out.. sausages were also very anaemic-looking and could have done with longer cooking!

I've stayed at this hotel twice before with little issues but this time I have to say I was unimpressed with numerous things. Ok positives first; the rooms are spacious, clean and warm with relatively comfortable beds. Large bathrooms with good amenities. Mini fridge and coffe maker nice additions. The central local is always a bonus. Negatives; We had a privilege suite with balcony which although stated no smoking had numerous cigarette ends on it. Out side the room in the hall there were dirty/used glasses and wine bottle (for the rooms next to us?) that were never removed during the 20hrs we were there?! Also there was NO prior warning that the lifts weren't working so we had to scale the 4 flights of stairs. This is not good for those who are disabled or struggle with mobility. I hope standard improve to how they were before this visit in the future.

Yelp
Had a nice coffee here but they were unable to prepare a breakfast that matched the menu discription. Decor is ok but the brick finish is wallpapered on.

Yelp
Situated on the Welshback and overlooking Bristol Harbour, this hotel is a litlle slice of luxury in the heart of Bristol. Minutes away from the city centre and popular bars and nightclubs, the Brigstow is well situated for a night on the tiles in Bristol. On the one occasion that I stayed here I was on the top floor with a balcony facing the water, which I didn't have to pay any extra for. The room was beautifully decorated and very modern, with rich wood and turquoise wall art. The bed was angled diagonally which is a little unconventional for a hotel but only enhanced my stay. The staff we efficient, professional and helpful when we wanted to book breakfast and needed some extra towels in our room. Breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was delicious and plentiful, though if there are mini muffins and a fry up on offer then I'm generally happy! If you are planning on visiting Bristol and want to relax in luxury then this is the place to be.

Yelp
I stayed in the Mercure Brigstow last December, and thought it was a great place to stay. Its very central, so fantastic if you are going out and want to explore the city. The hotel is described as a boutique style, which was nice enough. The room wasn't especially clean (the obvious things were clean, but things like shelves in the wardrobe, on the floor near the bed, etc were not) The bathroom had a (very) small TV built into the wall above the taps in the bath. I was far too excited. The price was reasonable if booked in advance and through one of their usual deals - I think it was £59 for one night and £69 for the second.

Yelp
A lovely modern hotel hidden inside an awful concrete exterior. Very nice well decorated (again modern style) rooms. Very comfortable and quiet. Very nice views from the rooms on the river side of the hotel. Breakfast was a posh hotel style english breakfast, which took an age to appear, and was very nice but lacked the volume to tackle my hangover. I'd recommend the Brigstow to anyone staying in central Bristol.

Yelp
I've stayed here twice now and while the first experience was five stars, the second was a bit less than ideal. The hotel itself is first-class: beautiful, clean and quite large for a hotel in the heart of the city. Room service was good and it's close to most of the things one might wish to do while in Bristol. The problem with my second visit, on a Saturday, compared to the midweek first stay, was that the hotel is also located smack dab in the club area for Bristol, a college town. The noise kept going, and going and going and eventually a party boat floated down the river, blaring dance music loud enough that I don't know how those on the boat survived. This isn't the hotel's fault, but it's something to keep in mind if you're visiting over a weekend.

Yelp
Don't be put off by the look of this hotel as I think it must have been an office block in a previous life. Inside though it has a bright and airy modern reception area with friendly reception staff. A very central hotel , it offered very reasonable prices for two nights bed and breakfast. The main centre of Bristol is in walking distance and the Mary Redcliffe Church is opposite and one of the treasures of Bristol so well-worth a visit.
