Convenient location. Reception is 24hours (I checked in very late) . There were conflicting information about reception hours online, so I emailed the hotel prior to my arrival. Quick reply was received reassuring me that reception is open 24/7. The restaurant was under renovation but the nearby Novotel offered great buffet breakfast and I could purchase a voucher for their breakfast at a discounted price at the Mercure. The Reception person was friendly and professional. The room was really clean and comfortable. Excellent for an overnight stay for travel for work.

I was a bit worried about booking this hotel due to some of the reviews, however we stayed 6 nights in a loft room which was very nice and very good value. Lovely shower/bathroom, nice design with a mezzanine bedroom. Friendly service, the Irish girl at reception was great fun. My only criticism would be that the kitchenette could have a larger fridge rather than a small minibar. However there was a microwave. The room was serviced every day, and spotlessly clean. Very satisfied and very good value.

We arrived early and we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our room was ready earlier than expected, very clean and well provided to our needs. Our daily housekeeping made sure all items were kept topped up and our comfort was a priority. Guest services were very aware and encouraged us to ask if we needed anything. Our balcony provided a peaceful resting place.

The door wasn’t shutting properly, came back and our door was open. The air conditioning wasn’t working, the bathroom door was hard to get around. Also a maid had stolen a chocolate bar from our mini bar on the Friday when we were out all day. No breakfast and overall dated room. Never staying again. Front desk staff were friendly.

The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and the internet was so poor I could not get on a web page. Standard of cleanliness was poor. Our room was next to the temporary staff store room which was used late into the night with a squeak and slam each time. When I tried to diplomatically provide constructive feedback, the male reception staff member was dismissive and uninterested. He actually turned his back on me, held his hand up in a stop gesture and said ok sorry. There are so many better places to stay in Cairns.

The room was clean and well-maintained, with a nicely set-up toilet and shower area. However, our experience was somewhat tarnished by the presence of rowdy revelers outside our room, whose noise and disruption made it difficult for us to rest. Despite our requests for assistance, the staff were unable to effectively address the issue due to concerns about their own safety, stemming from previous altercations with these individuals. Ultimately, the police were called, and they arrived after about an hour, by which time the disturbance had already left because I had to go downstairs myself and ask them almost resulting in a physical altercation.

Good location, pretty quiet, disappointed we couldn’t make use of the restaurant and bar but were under renovation so had free breakfast at other hotel. Room comfortable, great shower. Need to replace their pillows. Air cons not overly cold. Overall would use this hotel again.

I booked for 5 nights at Mercure Cairns, but the experience was very disappointing. When I checked in, I found the room very small, smelly, and with a step-in shower. As I need a walk-in shower, I asked to change rooms, but I was told the hotel does not have any. I then requested a refund so I could stay elsewhere, but they refused and charged me for the first night. The facilities were also underwhelming – the restaurant was closed, the pool is extremely small, and despite being a Gold Accor member, I was not offered late check-out. Overall, poor value for money and not up to the standard I expected from an Accor property. I would not recommend staying here.
