Mercure Cairns

I was there for work so it was a different experience for me than most. The location was perfect though - very close to all attractions and the parking was handy. I found the room quiet and peaceful. The staff were super friendly and I felt very welcome. Cairns is in the tropics so you want a place that's clean and well maintained - this is certainly all of those things. My room and the place in general were spic and span and I would definitely come back.

I stayed here for 2 nights then a further night as part of a package booked for me. From the beginning the staff in reception were warm and welcoming. I was initially met by Evan who was helpful and gave me all the informatiom i could need even that he was a spurs fan haha. Travelling solo and flying in from the uk meant i was all over the place with my sleep so i would go through reception to go for a late night walk where i first met Kellyann. A friendly chatty irish lady who put up with me standing chatting for long periods of time. On the night shift (after 11pm) was probably one of the nicest people i have met for a long time. Eolia was again friendly with a wicked sense of humour and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself is what you would describe as cheap and cheerful. The rooms i stayed in were a good size, clean and had everything you would need. The hotel was not helped by the fack the restaurant is closed for a referb but breakfast can be had at a nearby hotel and you can also get a discount at a fantastic steak house 100m down the road. In all i would dwfinatly stay here again and all staff are a credit to themselves and to the hotel 10/10

Mercure Cairns cared for us well, especially with my partner's Coeliac food intolerances, the restaurant staff, in particular, went beyond their call to deliver safe meals. The accommodation, we had the 'Loft' was excellent in facility, however, myself being mobility limited did not care for the steep stairs to the upper-level bedroom. Yes, I will definitely stay again. Well-Done to all concerned.

We stayed overnight on our way through to Darwin. The room was very clean, modern and comfortable. Staff were great, breakfast was nice, a little slow (only one chef working) but the food was great!

I was a bit worried about booking this hotel due to some of the reviews, however we stayed 6 nights in a loft room which was very nice and very good value. Lovely shower/bathroom, nice design with a mezzanine bedroom. Friendly service, the Irish girl at reception was great fun. My only criticism would be that the kitchenette could have a larger fridge rather than a small minibar. However there was a microwave. The room was serviced every day, and spotlessly clean. Very satisfied and very good value.

Convenient location. Reception is 24hours (I checked in very late) . There were conflicting information about reception hours online, so I emailed the hotel prior to my arrival. Quick reply was received reassuring me that reception is open 24/7. The restaurant was under renovation but the nearby Novotel offered great buffet breakfast and I could purchase a voucher for their breakfast at a discounted price at the Mercure. The Reception person was friendly and professional. The room was really clean and comfortable. Excellent for an overnight stay for travel for work.

We arrived early and we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our room was ready earlier than expected, very clean and well provided to our needs. Our daily housekeeping made sure all items were kept topped up and our comfort was a priority. Guest services were very aware and encouraged us to ask if we needed anything. Our balcony provided a peaceful resting place.

The door wasn’t shutting properly, came back and our door was open. The air conditioning wasn’t working, the bathroom door was hard to get around. Also a maid had stolen a chocolate bar from our mini bar on the Friday when we were out all day. No breakfast and overall dated room. Never staying again. Front desk staff were friendly.
