This is an older hotel with spacious rooms and most amenities you would expect minus a gym. The room was clean with high quality linens and a big comfortable bed. The shower had very little cold water so it was difficult to get the right temperature and it had a constant drip. Hooks and towel hangers were lacking. There were plenty of outlets and the lighting was nice. The breakfast buffet had lots of options with average quality. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. The location is good if you want to be by the old city (north gate). There is a Tops grocery next store. The parking was tight but there was always a space available.

Staying at Mercure Chiang Mai feels a bit like stepping back into the 80s–90s, but in a charming way. While the building shows its age, the rooms are spotless, tidy, and equipped with amenities that are all in great condition. It’s an older property, but very well maintained, which makes the stay both comfortable and enjoyable. I also love that they provide universal power sockets..something many hotels in Chiang Mai don’t offer. Overall, a solid choice for travelers looking for good value in Chiang Mai, and I’d happily recommend it.

This was my second visit to the hotel. Overall, a good stay.||The room was spacious. Even with an extra bed, there was sufficient room to move around. Facility is slightly old; however, no challenges were faced.||Close to some attractions like the cabaret show, Chiang Mai boxing stadium etc. They also have shuttles to Sunday market, Saturday market, Jing Jai market, Maya mall etc. 7-11 and other shopping centers are nearby. Songthaews to Doi Suthep is at a walkable distance (may be less than a kilometer). ||Breakfast had items for almost everyone, though southeast asian dishes have an upper hand. I enjoyed most of the breakfast dishes over the 4 days. One area of improvement is the temperature of the coffee/tea. It is lukewarm at best.||Overall, a good stay.

Poor room description by Trip.com & Mercure Chiang Mai - room sold for 2 adults and 2 teenage children but only has one king size bed which they expected us all to sleep in. They offered us for 50% more extra beds in the room or for double the amount interconnecting rooms. With 2 teenagers we felt we had no choice to get a 2nd interconnecting room.Although the price was good, if I had known I would be paying double I may have booked elsewhere.Otherwise the hotel was very dated, the pool was nice, staff were all friendly and happy to help. Very walkable to old town, very close to Thai boxing.

Loved our stay here, staff were lovely. Breakfast buffet changed daily as well had nice selection of different cuisines. We had no issues we stayed here for 3 nights, toilet is a little loud during the night (constant drip) but can’t have it all. Thank you for a lovely stay :))) Will be back.

This hotel might look old but the room is spacious and clean. It is situated in the heart of Chiang Mai with supermarket next door so it’s very convenient. The staffs are very polite and helpful. Definitely be back.

Lovely staff. Older hotel but very clean and spacious. Not too far from the old city and has some great shops in the local streets. Would stay again.

As a regular guest of the Mercure I was stunned to read the most recent review. I must say the review does not match my very positive experiences of the hotel, its management and the staff. I have hot water and use the wi-fi to back up my iPad and phone without difficulty. If there are difficulties with anything, the hotel responds quickly and effectively. For example, I witnessed the testing of the modems and wi-fi setup, following a customer complaint in April. (The system was working). The most disappointing comments of the review were those on the staff. In all my time at the hotel, I have seen the staff always striving to meet the needs of the customers. They take pride in doing their job well. Many times I have seen them go beyond the call of duty. During the Chiang Rai floods the management and staff organised a trip to Chiang Rai to offer material and show their personal support to the hundreds of households which were underwater. In other words, these people care about others. They care about their community and about their customers.
