Mercure Hanoi la Gare

I had a fantastic experience during my recent stay. From the moment I arrived, all the staffs, especially Anh were warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. Anh went the extra mile to ensure my comfort, even arranging to have a hard pillow ready in my room for the third night. That level of care made a lasting impression. The room was a good size, comfortable and clean. The only downside was that the bathroom was quite small, and the sink tended to splash water, which made it a bit inconvenient to use. My husband and I loved dining at the hotel’s restaurant. We ended up ordering the same dish Bún Chả, for three consecutive nights because it was so delicious! Special thanks to Linh at the restaurant, whose warm and friendly service made each dinner even more enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with a wide variety of tasty options. Overall, the service throughout the hotel was consistently outstanding. Despite the minor issue with the bathroom, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to return or recommend this hotel to others. A truly memorable experience from start to finish! Not at all sure how this place has a 4.5 out of 5 star rating on Google. It's location is good; presumably why you'd consider it, and the rooms can be relatively quiet. The downside is this is a very bare bones, basic hotel. Much closer to 2 or 3 star than 4. It has small rooms in general and a small bar and kitchen with so-so food. The room rate is currently around $80 USD a night, which in Hanoi you can get quite a bit more for. The toilet in the room didn't have a spray or bidet and the trash bin didn't have a cover which isn't great when you aren't supposed to flush toilet paper. I paid extra to get breakfast when I booked and unfortunately forgot on my first day there. That's on me, but I figured I'd check with them when I checked out if I could possibly get a voucher to use it another day since I would be down the road the rest of the week. I was first explained what I paid for, which I understood. Then told 'no refunds' which I wasn't asking for. I was just looking to see if I could end up using the breakfast I paid for but didn't use on another day since Accor breakfast rates are several times the cost of any restaurant nearby and they set up the buffet regardless. The person went to the manager and was told no. Basically if you find an Airbnb in the area that's well rated I don't know why you'd pay a premium for this place and I don't get the glowing reviews. It's basic. The rooms are basic. The amenities are almost non-existent. The customer service is basic. I'd only consider it if you are an Accor loyalist who's trying to add cheaper nights to get status.

The hotel is a few minutes walk away from a wide range of shops in the Old Quarter. There are also tons of food and coffee options nearby. The room itself was a good size, tidy, and had a good view of the street outside. Room service was excellent in terms of portion size and timeliness. Housekeeping was also great, timely in providing additional requests such as a clothing iron and ironing board. The concierge at the front desk were approachable and helpful as well with all my questions and request for an earlier check-in time. Just some notes of concern are the smell of the washed towels and robes as they have the particular scent of laundry that didn’t fully dry. The bathroom sink is also quite low and shallow that the water easily splashes everywhere. The in-room kettle is also quite dusty so I wasn’t comfortable using this. I was, however, able to request for a glass of hot water.

The location of this hotel is incredibly convenient with easy access to the nearby train station. It makes it a great choice for travelers. The concierge team truly went above and beyond during my stay. They were not only friendly but also really helpful in recommending some great spots to grab coffee and even helped me find the perfect cashews to bring back home. Their assistance made my experience even more enjoyable. Additionally, I was able to check in earlier than the usual time which was a huge plus and really appreciated after a long journey. The room and facilities were spotless, and the cleanliness of the toilet and overall amenities were well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of choices, each thoughtfully selected, and I was impressed with the quality of the food. There was something for everyone, from fresh pastries to healthy options, all beautifully presented. The coffee was perfect. Overall, my stay was extremely pleasant, and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay.

I visited Hanoi, Vietnam, for the first time and spent my birthday celebration there. The front desk team provided excellent service. Thank you to Ms. Thao, the trainee, and Ms. Vo Nga for their great service. However, the room cleanliness needs improvement. Other than that, the restaurant service was also excellent.

This place is well maintained, very close to the Old Quarter which makes it very convenient. The staff here are super nice, very welcoming and pleasant to talk to. Special mention about Minh and Nyuyen. They went out of their way to help us when we lost a mobile phone in a hail cab. We didn't even know the cab detail. They talked and arranged to deliver the phone to the hotel with only the local number we got in the phone when we landed. I'll definitely recommend this property for it's location and the exemplary customer service.

Excellent Stay and Outstanding Support from the Mercure Team! I recently stayed at Mercure Hanoi La Gare and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is well-located, clean, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The rooms were comfortable, the food was consistently good, and the staff was always polite and attentive. What truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional support I received from the hotel team during a payment issue. Due to a technical error on my bank’s side, my initial payment got stuck. It was a frustrating situation, but the Mercure team went above and beyond to assist me. This level of service is not something you come across often, and I’m truly grateful for their efforts. Had a pleasant 4 night stay here at Mercure Hanoi La Gare. Location wise is not in the hustle and bustle of the old quarter. But close enough to grab everywhere. There is a major road in front of the hotel and you are walking distance to the train street as well as some fabulous restaurants around the area.||As an Accor Plus Platinum member, I got my riom upgrade based on availability and also a nice welcome amenity. As we checked in on Valentines day, the hotel was kind to give my partner a rose as a small gesture. It's the small things that count.||Room wise, it isn't a very large hotel and the rooms are well maintained since my last visit in January 2020. Rooms are clean and tidy, furniture's aren't too old and it shows by the good upkeep. Sound proofing of room was great. ||The only suggestion I would make would be to improve the breakfast selection. Other that that, service wise the team were very helpful and friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.||
