Mercure Hanoi la Gare

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Hotel Mercure Hanoi La Gare. From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely lovely and attentive,always ready to help with any questions and very detail-oriented throughout our stay. Our standard twin room was spotless upon arrival and cleaned thoroughly every single day by housekeeping. The room was surprisingly spacious for two people and had everything we could possibly need: a hair dryer, kettle, tea bags, instant coffee, slippers, a safe, a dental kit, vanity kit, and sanitary bags. The bathroom was also well equipped with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Additional amenities such as shaving kits, an iron and ironing board, and bathrobes were available upon request. There was a paid minibar and snack bar in the room, which we didn’t use, but we appreciated having the fridge to store our own drinks. Two bottles of water were provided and refilled daily, and the fresh flowers in the room upon check-in were a lovely touch. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was quiet. There was also an extra duvet and two additional pillows in the closet. The hotel’s location is excellent: just a 10 minute walk from Train Street and 15 minutes from the Temple of Literature. There are also a few convenience stores and the post office within a 5 minute walk, and the Old Quarter is only about 10 minutes away by Grab or by taxi. We tried the hotel restaurant at the beginning of our stay. The menu offers a good selection of local dishes, though the prices are quite steep compared to nearby restaurants. The fitness room is small but equipped with all the necessary machines for a quick workout. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Mercure Hanoi La Gare for its excellent service, convenient location, and great attention to detail. We didn’t try the breakfast, but everything about our stay was wonderful.

From start to finish, the experience was simply exceptional, a perfect combination of professionalism, efficiency, and heartfelt hospitality. At the reception, Viet Anh, Tram Anh and especially Thao set the perfect tone for my stay. Their warm smiles, efficiency, and genuine attentiveness made every interaction a pleasure. They were always ready to assist, and their thoughtful approach reflected the best of Mercure’s hospitality. At the coffee house, Minh and Quynh consistently provided excellent service, always cheerful and attentive to every guest’s needs. Special appreciation goes to Ms. Han, their manager, whose leadership and graciousness were evident in the team’s coordination and friendliness. Every breakfast felt personal and welcoming. I also want to extend my gratitude to Ms. Mi, the Sales Manager, for her outstanding professionalism and care in ensuring that my event ran smoothly. Her coordination and support were invaluable; she truly embodies service excellence. During the event, the restaurant and engineering teams worked seamlessly behind the scenes to ensure every detail was perfect. From technical arrangements to meal service, everything was handled with precision and calm efficiency. Their dedication made the two-day program run flawlessly and allowed us to focus fully on our participants and objectives. Overall, Mercure Hanoi La Gare delivered not just a stay, but an experience marked by warmth, teamwork, and genuine care. Every department, from reception to restaurant to engineering, demonstrated remarkable commitment and pride in their work.

The Mercure is in a great location for walking to museums. The staff are welcoming and accommodating. Our room was quiet, beds comfortable though a little squeaky on exit. The shower was very, very slippery when wet. The breakfast buffet was lovely and included international and local choices.

We have stayed here for 4 nights and will mention the pros and cons purely based on my opinion Pros: 1. Location is the best, very near to the happening places - Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake 2. Service of the hotel is excellent 3. Room and bathroom are very clean and house keeping is amazing. They even folded our clothes on bed. Special Thanks to them Cons: 1. I felt that the breakfast is actually not worth the price they are quoting that can be improved or price can be reduced 2. Limitations of using the water bottles - We were told that only 3 bottles per room will be given per day and that too they are small bottles.

We loved our stay at Mercure Grand Hanoi! The hotel is very well located — just a short walk to the Old Quarter, making it easy to explore the sights, shops, and restaurants on foot. At the same time, it’s tucked away in a quiet area, so we could relax and rest peacefully after a busy day in the city. The combination of convenience and tranquility made our stay perfect. Highly recommended!
