23 Places to Visit in the Netherlands Beyond Amsterdam | Condé Nast Traveler

"Right in the center, this colorful standout counters the city’s business-grey norm with sleek rooms and wall-to-ceiling windows framing downtown views." - Chris Schalkx

A nice hotel and close to everything. The hotel has bike rentals, which was very convenient. Staff overall is very friendly. Only had 1 elevator working the entire 5 days so at times it was a long wait. Breakfast is not worth €20. Checking out took way longer than it should have. I think the desk clerk was sleeping so had to wait 10 minutes, then they couldn’t figure out my card on the system to charge. Besides that it was a great time and nice hotel to stay.

Very convenient hotel with the town centre close by. Room is large and clean and useful that it has its own fridge and safe. Despite being next to a main road you never heard the traffic. Staff very helpful and friendly especially the two ladies on reception and the bartender. Only negative is that the rooms close to the lift are disturbed due to the noise of the mechanism.

Beautiful hotel with great service and rooms for a good price if you catch a good deal. Amersfoort is beautiful and the hotel is extremely close to the inner old city So nothing to complain about except for the fact I was told my credit card would be used JUST as a backup if we were to break something, but in the end without asking the whole price was booked from it. That was fine with me, but not what we were told.

We booked a room for two nights. We arrived after a long drive and dropped off our luggage in room (703) before going to dinner at the event we were attending. We returned very late and discovered that the toilet was broken (the wrong-size lid, holding on with one bolt), and the battered trash bin immediately fell apart. Strangely, the bed did not meet the floor on the bottom right side, making it noisy whenever my husband rolled over. The next morning, we needed to be at our event very early. We told the receptionist about the problem. Upon my return at 2:00 for some rest, the room had not been touched. After waiting in vain for housekeeping to arrive, I returned to reception to ask if anything would be done. After being told no, I asked to switch rooms. I was given new room keys and told to move on my own (I walk with a mobility aid). The next morning, the receptionist apolognízed and offered to cover our parking costs because of our experience. When we tried to leave the parking garage, they didn't work, and the friendly receptionist was gone. Getting the parking ticket validated again required a long discussion. In all, what should have been a simple stay at the hotel closest to our event turned out frustrating and exhausting. We go to this event every year, and we will definitely choose a different hotel next time.

Great location. Easy parking and arrival and within walking distance of a very nice old city center with lots of restaurants and shops. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good.

Nice location, room was clean and comfortable. Mr Vincent on the night shift team went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Excellent service a true credit to the hotel!

Good location with respect to train station, close to city centre and de Flint conference centre. Efficient check in and out, welcoming staff. Good food for dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Yelp
Stayed here for six nights while at an international conference. Very pleasant, modern and spacious hotel. I arrived early and had to wait for my room, but I think they wound up upgrading me to a suite on the prestige floor without an upcharge. It was wonderful. Breakfast buffet was not included, but at 22 euro was a bargain, and had variety for traditional Dutch breakfast, French/German styles, and US/English style. All very nicely done. Had an early pick up for a taxi back to Schipol at the end of our stay, and the night clerk graciously prepared coffee and tea for us. Would certainly stay again if I had reason to come back to this city.

Yelp
Having stayed at the Mercure in Amsterdam, I must say that I am more impressed with the size of the room here in Amersfoort....the room is quite a bit larger, the bathroom is about twice as large and has a heated floor!!Mercure Hotel in Amsterdam is very nice for a Business type visit, but this one is more suitable for fun vacations. Think that I will stay here next time and be close to my Family. I can always ride the Train into Amsterdam...

Yelp
I stayed here because I was working nearby and this was the closest hotel to the train station. Overall, it was a good experience, the ceilings were tall and the color scheme was unique (a rather dark shade of battleship gray). Room was large for the Netherlands and it had all the amenities. The only complaint was the sounds I could hear in the room: I could hear everything in the adjoining rooms it seemed (water flushes, toilet paper rolling sound was clear as a bell) Weird - maybe it was the tall ceilings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I elected for the breakfast option and it was a good choice: eggs, bacon and sausage and continental breakfast; quite good and worth the additional 15 euros. The wireless was OK, but the TV reception was poor. It must have been satellite because every other channel would freeze occasionally and in the middle of a movie, it was frustrating. I had to turn it off. The distance to the station was much longer than it appeared, too: about 500 meters and that is a lot when you are dragging a roller bag and toting a backpack. I would go back.
