Stayed only 1 night in secure hotel with large monitored front gates. Check in simple but minimal info given eg nothing about lunch, dinner etc. Ate in restaurant for dinner & breakfast - both smorgasbord. At dinner highlight was the malva cake - juicy & hot. Everything else felt like it had been sitting in hot box for a while & wasn't very hot. Breakfast was better - good cereal variety, fruit, eggs cooked to order, hot box, bread, pastries & self serve coffee machine. Had to ask about milk for coffee in room (2 requests before delivered), delay in getting pool towels (felt like I was the first to ask) & shuttle to airport (not mentioned until I found on web & asked about it - 250rand for 2 people). Rooms are very large with kitchenette incl small fridge. Beds were comfy enough. Large bathroom with separate bath & shower. Felt a bit dated & TV channel options limited. Bars on windows for security. Large shopping centre across road. Had a small pool & outdoor seating. Some seats in a/c when waiting for shuttle. Some staff super friendly & helpful, others seemed to be just doing their job.

We had an excellent tour provider through Mr Wiseman Ndou who had booked us. The TEAM at the hotel served us excellently, food was fresh, variety of cuisines and on time. We were in a group of 28 and we literally owned the hotel and noisy, demanding and impatient, but that did not diminish the level of service. We would come back given a chance. We had come through the level handicap golf teal from Thika Sports Club

I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with a very unpleasant experience I had during my recent stay at your hotel. I requested water to be brought to my room. However, the staff member entered my room without knocking after I opened the door. At that time, I was drying important documents on the floor, which the staff stepped on. This caused me great frustration and discomfort. When I raised this issue with the reception, I was made to feel as though I was at fault for opening the door. Such a response is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Additionally, I was informed that water would either be provided at check-in or available in the refrigerator. Neither was the case. This experience has significantly damaged my trust in the Accor brand. I rate this stay as extremely poor and request a sincere response regarding this matter.

The staff here were friendly, very helpful and professional. Unfortunately the rooms weren't as good as I would expect at a Mercure. The carpet was very dirty. There was a very loud squeak in the water pipe system everytime the neighbouring room ran their water. The safe was broken so we not useful while I was there. There is a mall across the street with lots of shops and food choices. It is convenient to travel to and from the airport from this Mercure.

We stayed one night for transit and it was very disappointing. • Check-in: Staff was rude and unwelcoming after our long flight. My prepaid booking (2,000 points + ZAR 248.82) was shown as “cancelled,” and I was forced to pay again (1,000 points + ZAR 801.48). Too tired and concerned for my safety to argue, I paid, effectively charged twice for one night. Weeks later, there’s still no refund or resolution despite multiple emails to both the hotel and Accor. • Room request ignored: I asked for a room near reception since we were checking in late and leaving early. Instead, we got the furthest room with no help for luggage. • Poor room condition: Two-bedroom apartment was old and worn, with only two towels for four guests. • Check-out: Staff were polite but could not help with the double charge, asking me to email Accor directly. I’ve stayed at many Accor properties and this was by far the worst experience. Be cautious and check your bill carefully.

The Apartment was neat The duvets were not suited for the jhb winter .We were 4 guests that checked in not enough towels were provided the shower design makes a huge mess on the floor which was not nice so using the bath tub was a better option. Well situated opposite Eastgate mall .not enough coffee and tea provided for 4 guests

I don’t know where to start. The only 2 good things about this hotel is its location and the staff. I have never stayed at a worse Mercure hotel nor a dirtier one. Some water was spilt on the carpet so I got the towel to soak it up and the towel was brown afterwards!! I couldn’t believe how disgusting the floor was. We had 3 rooms each stay (stayed twice in a week) and each room had different amenities - one room had no aircon, some rooms had 2 and one room had one. The bathroom in one of the rooms was falling apart. One room didn’t have a washing machine (thankfully they moved us to another room so we had aircon and a washing machine) It was just an awful stay because of how dirty and run down the hotel is. It’s definitely not at Accor standard (I’m an All Diamond Member and have had top Accor status for probably 15 years so have stayed at a lot of Accor hotels). The location is great, across from Eastgate. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. Please clean the carpets - that would be a start.

Greatly enjoyed my stay, rooms may be old but immaculately clean !! The food is competitively priced with the beef being top notch.
