Mercury Bay Estate - Winery & Restaurant

We had a great time at this winery. The ambience is really nice with beautiful views, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The wines were enjoyable, and the tiramisu was surprisingly delicious. The pizza was okay, but there weren’t a whole lot of food options overall, so just something to keep in mind if you’re planning to eat here. It’s a good spot for all group sizes, from couples to larger groups. We spent around $150 for two people, which felt reasonable for the experience.

Awesome, fun filled afternoon. Great friendly atmosphere and service. Wines are delightful and the pizzas very tasty. Gluten free pizza bases on offer! 10/10. We started with the tasting flight of wines - highly recommend. Terrific value and extremely tasty. Pick a sunny afternoon, head up and enjoy the view with tasty wines.

We have been here so many times and always enjoy it. Setting, food and service is always good and we particularly love the local wines, platters and pizzas. One of our must-dos whenever we're in the Coromandel and a walk on Cooks Beach after lunch is the perfect way to work off a delicious lunch. Such a great place to bring overseas guests too. We'll be back again!

Booked a table for two for lunch at Mercury Bay Estate Restaurant. Nice atmosphere and view from the restaurant overlooking Cooks Beach. Had the Vegetariana pizza (see picture attached). Tasted some wine and bought a bottle from the winery after lunch.

A few sets of stars were left out of the rating categories in the commentary about dinning at Mercury Bay Estate -Winery & Restaurant. Missing are five gold ones for the proprietor - Simon! You can't miss him unless you look at the floor! stare up at the ceiling! Also are 5 gold for the wait-staff who seamlessly fill the void if Simon is called away for other duties. It is because of these two 5 star combo's - and the kitchen staff ,- that the Service and Atmosphere must be rated at 5⭐️'s!! The owners here are involved in making customers feel welcome before, during and after the meal! It is one of the most relaxing destinations on the Coromandel - with an incredible view of Mercury Bay. It is open air with a cozy feel - for a glass of wine, fantastic pizza (right out of Italy!), really great non pizza options, great starters, salads that make a meal, and nice selection of deserts that will knock your socks off! Seriously! This is a seriously good restaurant with a seriously friendly feel; more like a private dinning experience with your closest friends than your typical great restaurant!! Came here to celebrate my partners birthday. Genuinely believe they have the best Italian pizza in New Zealand (and we’ve had pizza in Italy ..). Mercury Bay Pinot Gris was delicious too. Such friendly service, beautiful view & imagine it could be used as a great venue for a special occasion 😊.

Great atmosphere with gorgeous views but unfortunately there was a misunderstanding with our booking. Having booked for lunch at 3pm online from the selection of times we settled in with a few drinks and started with an antipasto board then were told the kitchen was closed for lunch 3.20pm. Luckily we were able to have 2 more antipasto boards $65, each shared between 6 people.

My dad and I had a wonderful lunch at this vineyard restaurant. The wine was beautiful, perfectly complementing the delicious pizza and fresh salad. We truly enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was delightful, with warm sunshine and a gentle breeze, making it a memorable dining experience.

Best tasting I've ever experienced! Danny let us try all the different fruit liquors from the farm and told us the history behind the region, all in a very funny and entertaining way. He even ran down the hill to grab us some feijoas to try. It's clear the proprietors care deeply about both their customers and their business. Plus the view was SPECTACULAR. We bought a bunch of bottles to take home and will definitely return next time we're in the area. HIGHLY recommend!

This winery was amazing! My wife and I randomly stopped by and were super impressed. The guy working there was hilarious(didn't get his name unfortunately) and really set up the atmosphere. Wine was really tasty, I think we tried most of what they had and liked everything. It was a no pressure tasting, you were offered to try anything as many times as you wanted and there was no fee. For me the big hit was the feijoa (pineapple guava) wine, ended up getting a couple of bottles of it. Next time we'll come back hungry to try their pizza.

So delicious! Excellent hospitality and best pizza I've had in New Zealand, the house cider is amazing too! Would highly recommend!
