Stayed one night and was very pleased overall. This boutique hotel offers a uniquely urban Winnipeg experience. If convenient parking is your top priority, you're better off at a generic chain hotel located in a sea of surface parking or with a garage to serve its 1,000 rooms. But if you're after something with character, this contemporary hotel in one of Canada’s best-preserved historic districts is a great choice. While not a luxury hotel, the rooms are spotless, comfortable, and well-designed — and the rates are very reasonable. I agree with others: the glass bathroom wall with semi-private blinds is a strange design choice, and the lobby could use some more personality given the hotel’s otherwise thoughtful design. That said, the rooms, location, and landscape design truly shine. The setting is both distinctly urban and remarkably peaceful, with scenic views of the post-industrial riverfront. As for parking? It was no problem — and honestly, even a five-minute walk wouldn't have been a big deal. But if that's a dealbreaker for you, the Canad Inns might be more your speed. Also: extra brownie points for the geothermal heating and cooling. That was a cool surprise,

I'm surprised this hotel gets so many positive reviews without mentioning the bathroom has zero privacy. There is a window between the bedroom and bathroom and they've made the effort to install a blind but the blind is completely see through. Zero privacy for our 2 night stay was absolutely not what I wanted for my family. The sliding door on the bathroom wad a bit of a hazard, 2/3 of us caught fingers during our stay. Shout out to housekeeping, they're great and 10/10 my pup loved the bed they provided. The Cibo restaurant next door was great and offered room service, make sure you book a table if you want to dine in.

Very disappointed to have to pay $23 for parking and not be guaranteed a spot. 2 unidentified bugs in our room but they were not bed bugs. A lot of wasps outside at the restaurant while trying to enjoy dinner and a drink. The hotel was fairly clean but starting to get run down in areas. The best part of my stay was the shower and the toiletries.

The unfortunate aspect about this hotel is that it has nice rooms, a good river view option and the service is wonderful. BUT be prepared for a parking lot suited for 1/8 the hotel guests. Everytime we go there, there are no spots. They tell you to park on the street or in the loading area at the front of the hotel (if there’s room). Our last experience involved driving around for 20 minutes to find a spot on a sketchy side street over a block away. I refused. We drove around again and eventually got a spot in the loading area but I almost boxed someone in to get there. The front desk was amazing and waived our parking fees - if he hadn’t that would have solidified our decision to never return. So if you’re up for a gamble and prepared for the possibility of no parking, great hotel. If it’s your anniversary, like it was ours, go the Hyatt House South on Sterling Lyon (right next to the Rec Room). Oh and for breakfast we actually walked over to the Inn At The Forks hotel! Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Everything was good, clean, and comfortable. The glass bathroom walls were a surprise - there are shades to pull down for privacy, but they are kind of transparent in the right lighting. The rooms are comfortable. There is a paid parking lot with very limited parking. Our second time staying here, the front desk staff was very helpful with parking as we had to park on the street and she made sure we were parked in place where we wouldn't get a ticket or towed. She also let us take the luggage cart to our car to bring our luggage inside. Overall I recommend staying here. It's a great location and very comfortable.

Google
They don't really offer amenities that usually would come with other hotels. Like a bathrobe or slippers. I will commend their coffee maker (Nespresso) and the coffee they provide. Really good. Cleanliness of the room was good. Service was okay, although most part the people at front were kind and courteous. They charged deposits and the amount of the stay at the beginning. Also the deposit charge was higher than it should be, so keep an eye that they do return it after.

Overall cute hotel, located near the water but also a bar. You can hear all of the outside fun at this location. Beds were hard, but clean. The hotel was experiencing system problems so I had to be escorted to my room and let in every time I wanted in, and there were two instances where my door was opened while I was in bed. I was not compt for any inconvenience or refunded for leaving early. Overall not the best hotel experience but again cleanliness counts!

Google
Location was great and same with the rooms. Everything was beautiful. I love that they are dog friendly. However, my only issue was the service. Cleaning staff were amazing! My issue was the front desk staff. They were rude, inconsiderate and just took away from such a great hotel. If they got rid of the man who works during the day, my rating would have been a 5. It felt like I was inconveniencing him by checking in. Don’t tell me I have parking spot and then sell too many. That’s just rude. No solutions either. Just oh a refund. Downtown Winnipeg is not the safest but yes let me park my car blocks away after paying for a parking spot. They did refund my money but still. Just keep that in mind if you want to park there, don’t leave once you park.

Yelp
I stayed at the Mere Hotel for one night while on a cross-country roadtrip and wish I'd stayed an extra day. The hotel's location is excellent - right on the river, with the North Winnipeg Parkway (a paved walking trail) right outside the door. It's a perfect spot for exploring the city, a short walk to restaurants and the Manitoba Theatre Centre, and a comfortable walk to the Forks. I was travelling with my dog, and since dogs are only allowed on the ground floor I was initially worried about noise (especially since I was on the city side rather than the river side), but it wasn't particularly noticeable at all. The rooms are well-sized and kept well-cleaned, and the modern decor looks good. The bathroom does have glass walls, which might be awkward for some travellers but it does make the space look even larger. The room has a bar-size fridge, a nespresso machine (with three pods), a good amount of baggage storage, a desk and a bench seat near the door. There's a small gym on-site, which looked up-to-date (I took a look, but didn't use it). I've read older reviews here that mention snacks are included, but at the time I stayed (summer 2024), they cost extra. There's no restaurant on-site, but there are so many in the area that it's not really a negative. The only downside is that the parking lot is tiny and the spots themselves are very narrow. I arrived very early, so I was able to find a spot, but people who arrived later in the day weren't all so lucky. I imagine that would be particularly frustrating for people on multi-day stays who might have paid for parking, drove out to explore, and then not been able to park that night. That said, for the location, it's great that they have on-site parking at all! Overall, I would definitely book another night here the next time I'm passing through Winnipeg.

Yelp
A modern understated hotel (on the inside) with a risqué bathroom and a mildly acceptable restaurant. Let me get it straight...you only read risqué bathroom!?!?! Located on the waterfront in Winnipeg - yes water during the summer...freaking cold ice the rest...this hotel is quite a nice place to stay. Front check-in to check-out, the staff is well versed in the niceties of being in the service industry. Efficient and really customer driven. Micaela was a darling! The room was spacious and well thought out. Gone are those stupid little luggage ponies that you have to drag from the closet. A well lit and thought out luggage and unpacking area is immediately available as you walk in. A standard wine fridge is stocked with juice, water, and cliff bars - all complimentary. Also, the nespresso selection was quite nice too. If you prefer tea, the front desk will deliver the electric kettle and a nice selection of leaves. The bed was comfortable and the large screen TV help lullaby me to sleep. OK...let's get to the shower thingy and the toilet situation. The water pressure is abysmal. Basically, it's the same as other hotels. Lord! Can a I please get more than a trickle?!?!?! The bathroom is pretty well see through...fully encased in glass and it's about letting the light into the room. Well...for the love of whatever you believe in, it's a freaking bathroom! No one want to see in and no one should be able to see out! Just my prudish self talfking. No...I never got into the whole shower thing at the adult clubs eithe! For those who like to watch...ok...you are weird! Not passing judgement...me thinks! All in all, if it wasn't attached to an outside restaurant - yeah...you basically need to dress up in caribou skin to walk across to a mediocre restaurant, and the pay parking, it could be a 5 star rated risqué hotel. Four stars for me! Cheers!

Yelp
Okay, great staff always happy to feed our caffeine habit by providing more Nescafe pods since my wife ploughs through them while we travel. Quiet room, even facing the street on the first floor. Prairie dogs outside as we walked up (seriously, and yes, we loved that). Comfortable bed. Water and juice and energy bars included. Fabulous. It's just... the bathrooms. What is it with new "hip" hotels and these glass wall bathroom with a screen to pull down? In the night, you can't turn on the light in the bathroom without waking your traveling companion. And you can turn on the light at other times, if you want to be clearly visible while sitting on the toilet. Yes, it's a screen. No, it's not opaque. What is, exactly, the thinking here? I've seen it at Aloft and other "modern" hotels and seriously, who wants this? I beg you, get opaque curtains there. Or even just wall it off so that you can put on the light at 3am without getting sworn at. I see it coming up in other reviews, and really it does seem to be the cool feature NOBODY wants. Please hear our cries. But... really fantastic, felt safe around the hotel, good night's sleep since we just stumbled around the bathroom in the dark... recommended.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel on the river. Very modern style boutique hotel. The building is very bright and vibrant. There are 3 floors so it's not too big or crazy. The colors in the room have some brightness in color to them and the room it self is very modern in style. Great quality in what the room offers. Loved my stay here, I would recommend checking this one out when visiting Winnipeg.

Yelp
No longer offer many items that were previously offered. And doesn't have proper parking lot security. Our vehicle and vehicle next to us broken into. Front desk manager blamed it on lack of city policing. Hotel needs to hire it's own security with the money they charge to park in the very small lot. If you are looking for a gamble of a $1500 repair bill then stay here it is cheap.

Yelp
The man with a red turban that checked us in was extremely rude and did not want to check us in..we were given a hard time and he had an awful attitude. I had to stay 5 nights and he made it so uncomfortable. I didn't want to move place to place..and ended up staying. I had asked them to leave us some towels inside the room and when we got back my custom ring was gone..it was in the bathroom. I wear it everyday as my bf gave it to me..I was so disappointed and his reply was oh you should of reported it. I said I did and he said "To the Cops" like Excuse me..I asked them to keep an eye out for it. They didn't even look at me. I felt racially attacked as he had a very nasty attitude and was not at all accommodating.. we were 2 indigenous individuals and yoy could tell he didn't want ppl like us there. Was definitely an experience. As well when checking us in he kept huffing and puffing like it was so hard. extreme racism at this hotel. We came in from BC. Couldn't believe the ignorance from this place. As well he seemed like he wanted to deny us while checking in was disgusting! I hope they are rated poorly. This place is not recommended sadly.. as well parking is an extra 16$ kind of alot if you ask me!

Yelp
My favourite hotel to stay at when traveling to and through Winnipeg. Rooms are modern and spacious and the showers are really nice. Cliff bars and juice are a nice touch as well. Parking is a little tight but it's right downtown so it's super convenient. I strive to stay there, unless I'm towing a trailer!

Yelp
I will definitely be staying here when I come back. The rooms are clean, new, fresh, and well designed. The staff is great and they're there to help you with any questions you might have. The complimentary items are a great touch, and this is the only place I've ever used in room espresso. Love this place and you will too!

Yelp
Mere is a modern and new hotel with spacious rooms for its price point. It has a nice central location to the downtown area and is also right next to the river so some rooms have that view. The rooms are clean and fresh and I think you get more than what you pay for overall - I would definitely stay here again. That being said, the hotel is missing a few things that I am sure will be worked out as time goes on and they get through a little bit of the new hotel growing pains. The first issue (that really wasn't that big of a deal but was just a little frustrating) was that our refrigerator didn't work. It was just a box to put food in but didn't keep things cold (yes, it was plugged in). On this note, however, it must be added that they provided complementary water, juice, cliff bars and espresso in the room, so amenities that most other hotels would charge for they give out at no charge which is very refreshing. Also, I am not sure if our room was just missing it, but we found no card for privacy to hang on the door so housekeeping nearly walked in on us. It was fine - we just told them that we didn't need anything, but a card for privacy would be nice. The primary issue I suppose (which again is not that big of a deal just kind of weird) is that the bathrooms are basically see-through unless you have figured out the perfect combination of lighting in the room. The room had a nice modern floor-to-ceiling glass panel that separated the sleeping area from the bathroom that included a pull down screen, but the screen was translucent if the lighting combination in the suite wasn't exact. So if you have the desk light on or the bathroom light off or the entryway off and the bedside light on or whatever combination, you would have to get it just right in order to not see into the bathroom. This isn't that big of a deal for my husband and I but it might be kind of weird with a business partner or children or something. Again, it's not that big of a deal and with the right lighting combination you can almost not see through, but it was kind of a weird thing to navigate. The room had great modern and spacious built-ins in the entryway area for hanging and storing clothes and nice mood lighting throughout the room and in more areas than other hotels at this price point. Staff were courteous and helpful. Overall this is probably the cleanest hotel I can recall staying in so that is a major plus. I would definitely recommend Mere to any friend or family member.

Yelp
Too bad I'm only here for one night, because the Mere Hotel Winnipeg is absolutely fantastic. If you ever find yourself in this city, this is the place to stay. The rates are good and definitely worth it for what you see and get. The guest services staff are helpful and friendly. Check in was a breeze. I got a room on the first floor but it was still very quiet and spacious. Just draw the curtains or you will see a lot of people walking and biking by. The rooms are beautiful and modern. Feels brand new. Molten Brown toiletries, soft bathrobes and a super comfy king size pillow top with stark white sheets. I really love the feeling of how minimalist the design is but still very warm feeling. Great location within walking distance of the Theatre and Museum districts and next to the waterfront. I took a scenic stroll along the river, just watch out for Mosquitos!

Yelp
I booked this hotel for my girlfriend since it seemed like a nice way to end our first vacation trip in the Exchange district. We didn't get the river view but instead got the city view. A little creepy since people can look in from the street being on the ground floor. The one thing to consider that my girlfriend pointed out is that there are those large neon bars covering your window. So, you kinda blend into your surroundings. I paid using Orbitz and had to use credit card for incidentals. Parking is $10 and the lot is small. However, I think it is a little price to pay since they do have security cameras around their own lot. Across the street is free but no guarantees. The river view is a bit drab because there was a recent flooding so alot of drift wood. Otherwise, I think this would be a perfect romatic spot. We thought to try the nearby restaurant but then realized we should really go downtown to explore. The hotel desk was nice enough to call ahead and get us reservations the East India restaurant. Plus, the front desk even mailed out a postcard for me too. For ammenties, the bathroom is well furnished with nice soap, shampoo, etc. However, the blinds are semitransparent against the window from ceiling to floor. Therefore, you may feel awkward using bathroom or taking a shower. My girlfriend had me go to the fitness center to work out while she showered. Let me tell you that the fitness center is small and does not have a great city view. However, the channel selection is even better than in your own room. There is a balcony on the 2nd floor which everyone has access and it has a nice view of the bridge. For the room, there is a mini-fridge and glad that water, juice, and CLIF bars are complimentary. Also, there is a Nexpresso machine which makes great expressos in the morning (3 small cups to make your expresso drinks). The bed is super comfortable but the lighting is too confusion. Just stick to a couple of switch or you will be left the challenge of figuring out what turns off that light. The price is reasonable being in downtown but then again I got 15% off from Orbitz. Do some shopping online before you committ to getting a room.

Yelp
This place is great- free snacks and espresso. Only bummer- $10/night for parking. Seems like on-street parking is filled, as the hotel is right next to some new condos. We stayed here for the Festival du Voyaguer- it's right across the river from the party!

Yelp
Fantastic two night stay at the Mere! Clean, modern, and comfortable rooms. Located close to The Forks and the Manitoba Museum. Very friendly and attentive staff, guest-controllable climate control in the room instead of simply "hotter" or "colder" as is often the case in hotel rooms. Very cozy bed and bedding, and the very soft bathrobes were fantastic. We enjoyed the plethora of lighting options in the room, you can illuminate it like the noonday sun, or set a special mood if you desire. Also much appreciated were the standard and rain shower options. The room fridge is stocked with complimentary juice, water, and Clif bars...and there are items for purchase also. While we were out for the day, we'd left the "do not disturb" sign on the door and when we returned, there was a note under the door letting us know staff would stop by any time and re-stock towels or anything else we needed. A nice touch! There's a wall-mounted 40" flat screen that welcomes guests by name when first turned on, and the free WiFi worked well during our stay. Right next door is the Cibo Waterfront Cafe if you'd like a meal, or a lace to relax and have a drink. Parking on site is somewhat limited, but there's an overflow lot next to the main one if it gets busy. (Parking isn't included in the room rate - it's $12 per day.) I loved it, AND...she loved it. We're definitely planning a return visit!

Yelp
THE place to stay in the hippest part of Winnipeg. 160$ bucks and 10 bucks for parking. A real deal . The rooms ARE a bit thin-walled and noisy. However I did enjoy the sex next door. Very hot! Man she was screaming... Maybe she was being murdered! The staff is really excellent. Be sure to have the Eggs Benedict out back at Cibos. Best in Canada yo.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel in a great location. Beautiful, clean and nice folks at the front desk.

Yelp
Ive probably been to about 100 hotels in the past 2 years all over the world. Mere is def in my top 5. Great staff, clean & extremely smart design in rooms, free water, juice, cliff bars and recycling bins avail in room. Overlooking the water and super chill vibes. Super recommended.
