Noel and Neal were great hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was clean and warm. Breakfast was amazing with muffins, croissants and bread, then they asked what we would like to order as well for a hot breakfast. Whatever we didn't eat they then wrapped to take with us for the day. Good place to stay.

We had an amazing experience here! The room was gorgeous and comfortable. The hosts are great. They helped us choose a great outing to Maria Island which ended up being the highlight of our trip to Tasmania. The breakfast is incredible. Some of the best food we had in our entire trip, especially the cinnamon rolls. Also appreciated we could take pastries with us on our hikes. We also appreciated the recommendations for dinner as sometimes Google can be unreliable . We loved the adorable dogs too. I highly recommend if staying in Swansea or wanting to check out Frecinyet area.

A period house (circa 1850's) which is quite charming with its eclectic decorations. The room was comfortable and contained everything you would need as well as a decanter of port. A bonus was the home made muffins you received on arrival. ||Breakfast was stunning. Quite the best I have tasted in years of travelling over every continent (except Antartica). Even provided us with a doggie bag for the left over bakery products (all home made and superb). ||Highly recommended and we will try and go back there in the not too distant future.

What a find! Last minute really but so happy we found it. Absolutely everything we needed was in the super comfortable and spacious room, and they even gave me lactose free milk and honey for my tea in the morning. The breakfast was amazing complete with a doggy bag of pastries and muffins for our trip. Thank you for having us. Highly recommend.

At the recommendation of a friend who stays regularly even though he doesn't live far away we booked a night at Meredith House and Mews. Neal and Noel are the best hosts. ||||Greeted at the door by Neil who was out watering in the beautoful garden. Upgraded into a gigantic room with an extra bedroom. Handed a plate of muffins that had been freshly baked by Noel. Super compfy room that had everything we could wish for and more.||||We'd been told by our friend that the guys served the best breakfast on the east coast and he was not wrong. Croissants like airships, eggs benedict to die for, fruit salad, more pasties, a doggy bag to take away what we didn't eat. All of the baked goods made in house by Noel. Amazing.||||Loved our too short stay at Meredith House. Highly recommended!!

Can honestly say this was the best stay in Tasmania, Noel was our host as his partner was away.We were greeted with a friendly warmth that involved talk about Yorkshire and Lancashire ( you need to be one to understand :) We felt at home, it was like visiting a long lost friend. The breakfasts as everyone says is awesome, enough to keep you fuelled for the rest of the day, I even turned down a crayfish feed later in the day I was still full. Little touches like Yorkshire Gold tea, Port in the room for those that don't snore and a warmth of feeling that will bring us back in the future. We wish Noels and his partner every success into the future for their beautiful home open to visitors well into the future.

An absolute find - more than just a place to stay. Meredith House is an experience in itself. From the moment you enter, Neal and Noel greet you with a warmth and nostalgia that make you feel like old friends reuniting. We were also fortunate enough to meet their gorgeous westie terriers Lulu and Dougall, which add a homely and familiar feeling to the house. Comfortable, clean and cosy conjoined studios form the ‘Mews’. A fully equipped kitchen awaits complete with dishwasher, fridge and glasses for any occasion. The bathroom boasts a clean and welcoming traditional spa - with complimentary bath salts and other bath/shower products to enjoy. They’ve thought of everything from tea light candles with matches to a pedestal fan, an absolute must for us when staying anywhere! Top off the evening with a glass of port on the private deck overlooking an English style fairy garden, with bbq facilities for those warmer afternoons. With a comfortable bed to lay and rest after a walk around the sleepy town, Meredith House has a familiar and kind feeling. I’d read other reviews about the breakfast available and they weren’t overestimating - Neal and Noel have worked hard for almost twenty years to perfect a menu of satisfying pastries, muffins, and a smorgasbord of traditional and continental breakfast items. Each tasty morsel has been baked by them in their kitchen - I loved the touch of the ‘doggy bag’ at the end to take away the yummy treats to enjoy throughout the day. The pictures on the website and other booking sites simply do not do this place justice - if you are lucky enough to stay here you will appreciate the understated yet tasteful space these two folk have created, down to the last detail. We will definitely be back, and a shout out to the exceptional ‘mushroom gravy’ I enjoyed this morning - never had anything like it before!
