My recent stay at Merian Palace was an absolute nightmare! The rooms were horrific, outdated and disgusting with poor hygiene. The ACs were not working and we were not allowed to turn on the third one on the wall for some reason… The temperatures were record high in the city and the room was 40 degrees… As a result we barely had any sleep due to the unbearable heat and smell in the room. Hygiene was below any standards. To make matters worse we ended up with food poisoning which was clearly made from old & stale food. Lastly we enquired about the indoor pool and spa that was marketed and shown in all pictures. Unfortunately we were warned that its such disaster that we would break our legs of we try using it… The place is a an absolute disaster from start to finish I strongly advise anyone to never waste their hard earned money to this disaster of a hotel. This was by far the worst experience in my life!

This hotel is such a shame. It's beautifully renovated but so badly run it's unbelievable. 4 star and you have to pay for parking... That's a joke. The breakfast was 2 day old tomatoes and slami that you wouldn't feed to a dog. Everything was cold at 8am. Coffee options were as follows: Long and short... From a machine you would see on a street corner. The hotel was cold and the staff were walearing hooded jumpers and tracksuits. Really not how a 4 star should look like. Just poor. Don't go there if you value your money.

The worst 4-star hotel I've been to. No Internet in the rooms. No minibar. Not enough parking space. Forbidden TV channels except the basic ones. Not even shower bonnets. Slow service. Stains on the carpet. Seems like it was a good hotel in the past, but not now, especially at the prices they offer. At the reception they told me the breakfast is until 10 o'clock but in the restaurant it was clear that it was until 9:30. Will stay there never again.

Very disappointed.... visited the hotel again expecting the pool and everything to be open this time as all was closed last year when we visited, charging way too much for the rooms, it doesn't mention when booking that everything is still closed although the manager told us last year he would update the information on his site. Breakfast arrived in room as restaurant still closed.... Very basic, bacon well over cooked nearly broke our teeth and the eggs looked nice but hard cooked only ate 1 good job because we was ill the next day with bad stomach, they have even started to charge for parking onsite even though we was the only ones in car park was only told this on checking out. Won't be visiting here again & wouldn't recommend.

We have been there for 3 nights and it was absolutely terrible. The employees were completely uninteressed, the hotel looked like it was four stars 30 years ago. The air conditionig in our room was "ok" but in the rest of the hotel it was unacceptable. Warm water was not really available...maybe a mild 20-25 C⁰. The elevators take about two minutes to get to the 11th floor. One evening me and my companion wanted to buy two beers, they had no money to give out the change. Later when we finally got those beers, we found the expire dates of 06.2022 and 02.2023 on our beers(it's August 2023!) After that we were cleary done with this hotel...luckily it was our last night in Merian Palas. Do not book here, it's not worth your money!!!

Old hotel but well maintained. Bathroom is big and nice, bedroom also has a lot of space and the bed was big and comfortable. There is a restaurant for breakfast only - the food was good (nothing too special, but good). There is a pool, but we didn’t test it. The parking is payed on top of the room - 6lv per day.

Friendly and exceptionally clean hotel. I do appear to be the only guest here at the moment but to be fair I'm visiting at a quiet time of year.. late October. The facilities are great and there is still a full compliment of staff. Reception is manned 24 hours and the staff have a good level of languages. Rooms are smart, clean and fresh and the location is great with a nice local bar / restaurant opposite. Breakfast is simple, continental style and of a high quality. Would definitely return here. Excellent value for money.
