Julian was a great waiter he did a good job with our 20 people party. This was our first time there. The salmon was exceptional. The pasta was a little under cooked for me, could have used about 4 more minutes. The fried oysters were fried soft, I enjoyed the sweetness in the green sauce, the tang with the red sauce and the yellow sauce was creamy, nice appetizer to share. The bavette was flavorful along with the tender asparagus. The mashed potatoes were nice and fluffy and large enough to share with two. The dinner rolls were soft, didn’t have room for dessert.

Google
First of all the service was great Madeline or waitress was phenomenal, The charcuterie board was elegant and picture worthy but as far as taste goes nothing specia $25 ...... l, they do have great bread rolls with butter. I got the steak for dinner. And the only option was a New Yourk strip.. which is just a sirloin steak with a fancy name... for $50.... Unseasoned and was served with a bread salad I forget the actual name.. but the pieces of bread were to hard to put a fork through and so dense the didn't break up and had a horrible aftertaste... Just unbelievable for the price they didn't have a a fillet, ribeye or porterhouse as one of the options just a sirloin with a fancy name. My wife got the Boar Bolognese $28 she said it was pretty good. We also ordered the Mac and cheese... HUGE PORTION.. But it had no flavor very bland dish and was an extra $15 we also had some corn soup that was petty good from what my friend said... My bill after all said and done was over $180 before tip . So my recommendation is pick somewhere else. Good atmosphere, but very overpriced for the quality of food that you receive. The looks are there but the taste is not

One of my favorites! The service is ALWAYS outstanding. Food quality, flavor and presentation are always superb. Very warm lighting perfect for a romantic dinner. Great wine list.

Google
Exceptional and unique! The house specials were dishes like I’ve never had. Service was prompt and polite without rushing. Smooth and relaxing environment with good energy. Meridian is the first restaurant I’d recommend.

Google
The Valentine's Day dinner was phenomenal. Every course was delicious, especially the Filet (both of us think it may be the best steak we've ever had)! Also, they do half-priced Wine Wednesdays, which they kept even though it was Valentine's Day, so that was a nice surprise to get a 1/2 off bottle. Atmosphere was cozy and nice, but not too fancy. We would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Indianapolis.

Google
The Meridian Restaurant was a fantastic place to enjoy a great meal and have a delightful conversation. The warm ambiance was comforting and relaxing after a long work day. The staff were extremely friendly, kind, courteous, and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the corn purée. I selected the salmon for my main course and was pleased with the decision. My colleagues both had the boar Bolognese. We ended with the donuts. Great location, great atmosphere, great people, great food, provides overall great satisfaction. Thanks Meridian.

Google
The service here was impeccable! Sarah our server knew everything on the menu and made fantastic suggestions. The atmosphere was A1. Joe the manager came over a couple of times to make sure everything was satisfactory. Meridian Restaurant is a great place for date night, anniversary or a birthday celebration. Best kept secret in town. We will definitely be returning.

Google
Had a great time at Meridian! Hannah the hostess was super sweet and helpful. Larry our server was on top of things, efficient, and friendly! We loved his stories about the history of the place. The manager greeted us too and was kind! We loved all of our food we ordered and the ambiance is very fancy! Makes you feel special for sure.

Steven C.

Yelp
The food here is very good, the hot tip for lunch is the Steak and Frites. The service is always excellent.

Yelp
This is a nice fancy restaurant, but it is a bit expensive. The menu rotates according to our waiter. There were some very standard American options. I choose the "Wild Boar Bolognese." It was very good. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the bolognese sauce was good. The sausage used in the sauce was great. The restaurant has a very cozy wooden look inside. It's in an old house I think, and that makes it all the more friendly. The waiter was amazing and did a great job! All the staff was friendly. This is a solid fancy restaurant. It's nothing to write home about like some other places. But you can't go wrong here. Try it out!

Scott M.

Yelp
This was a fantastic spot for a group date. The prices aren't cheap so it was a good plan to leave the kids home. I've driven past this place 1k times but this was my first visit. The restaurant is a converted log cabin with a very cozy and reasonably quiet spot. We were there during the first week of a new seasonal menu and had some great selections. The King Salmon served on locally made pasta was excellent. The Porchetta (roasted pork belly) served on a yuca mash with a passion fruit sauce was unreal! The brightness of the fruit was an amazing counter note to the pork. I hope for your sake that they keep it on the menu. Service was attentive and we were well cared for with drinks topped off regularly. It was our first visit but hopefully not our last.

Kacy G.

Yelp
This is a lovely spot for a nice dinner - esp if you're heading to a show at Butler! First round - drinks. The Manhattan wasn't your typical variety (I don't love them on the rocks), but it was a tasty cocktail. We shared the oxtail gnocchi for an app (quite small - just enough for 2 small potions). I had the halibut which was wonderfully seared. My husband had the short ribs - an interesting blend of flavors. We didn't have room or time for dessert - but I wish we did! Our waitress was perfectly attentive and knew her stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to go back!

Yelp
Recently revisited the Meridian. We started with the Sweet Potato Rondelles. They were incredible. So many different flavors and textures. I split the Smoked Corn Purée and can never go wrong with it. For dinner I ordered the Chicken Saltimbocca and unfortunately was a little bit disappointed with it. The chicken tasted a bit dry. However our server was very friendly and did a great job. We went on a Wednesday night which was half off bottles of wine under $100, and it was packed!

Hanna H.

Yelp
Wonderful anniversary dinner at Meridian! The food was fresh and excellent and our server was knowledgeable and friendly. We also enjoyed the wine selection and Wednesday special.

Natalie W.

Yelp
Beautiful location, would be great for a private party! The staff were friendly and always eager to help. For apps, we got the fried oysters which were average- they were small and didn't stand out. However, the tenderloin was juicy and flavor packed. Bolognese with the lemon ricotta was unique as well. Topped it off with a lovely cheesecake!

Sara M.

Yelp
Incredible food, so fresh and homemade. Fast and friendly service!!! Highly recommend!

Stefanie W.

Yelp
Sweet little restaurant hidden off Meridian with parking located on the side of the house. Walking in, it gives the ambiance of old money with candles lining the ceiling and dark wood interior. My friend had invited me here and she ordered the bolagnese and I ordered the wedge w salmon on the side. We shared a delicious red bottle that neither have tried before... the service was top notch and appreciate that they didn't rush us out. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was very filling for lunch. Divine!

Christie L.

Yelp
I have wanted to go to this restaurant since I passed it on Meridian! It was set back and unnoticed by myself for awhile. So, my 50th birthday was coming up and I told the hubby, make a reservation. We made an earlier reservation and were seated fairly quickly. There were not many tables filled when we arrived, only 3 tables with patrons. I was excited to see the inside and enjoy the evening. The food was amazing, I had the Bolognese with the lemon ricotta, perfect! The restaurant itself was beautiful, we even walked around to see the outdoor seating area (not open too cold) for when we returned! The only issue was the waitstaff. We felt very rushed and not welcome for questions which was odd since the restaurant did not have many patrons. It was not as welcoming as I expected, but I am going to give it another try because the food was excellent.

Yelp
The Meridian Restaurant is a veritable gem in Meridian Kessler neighborhood. Our lunch of Boar Bolognese and Chicken Enchiladas each merit a 5-star rating. Even better part was the pecan pie we shared for dessert. The service from the hostess and waitress was professional and attentive. The dining room is spacious and well appointed with white tablecloth cloths in a cabin like setting. Look no further than The Meridian if you are looking for a pleasant dining experience with excellent food.

Bill S.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and excellent service Best burger ever So juicy and well built Great fries Good drinks

Johnny W.

Yelp
This is my go to for birthday dinners and client lunch meetings. The Meridian Burger could hold its own against any burger in town.

Christi S.

Yelp
What a special place. First off the location is great- has a good parking lot and offers a complimentary valet. Coming inside the beautiful house to see an all wood interior. Offers major cabin vibes. Just beautiful- even had the fire place going! We had fancy drinks to start. The rolls were fantastic- they took me back to my childhood and stopping in southern Ohio for bread from an Amish shop. We split the artisan green salad with feta, pomegranate seeds and a white balsamic vinaigrette. It was SO fresh and the flavors of the feta and pomegranate were so refreshing. Then the main course. The duck was so tender and soft. The pasta with cashew pesto sauce was the perfect partner to the duck. Seriously would've licked the plate! The Cioppino was just as perfect. All the components were perfectly cooked- the sword fish on top was so flakey and rich. The sauce was amazing- made sure to soak up every bit of it with the rice and bread. The mussels, shrimp, calamari were PLENTIFUL! Then since it was my birthday- they brought out a beautiful jelly with fresh strawberry purée. It was so delightful and refreshing. I did see the donuts and those looked amazing- but the food was so good we just didn't have room.

Yelp
So tonight I was in this establishment and met a person who said he was the "General Manager". He was a bit creepy, -the way he walked around with his SHORT self... but eventually this "little" unassuming man asked me to "not" come back to HIS establishment again.... TRUST me I won't...... Before that the cocktails and the food were acceptable. The waiter and bartender were great.... My friend even commented about how "weird" the supposed "general manager" was..... On My Part: There was no cursing, no physical issues, no issues at all. OH ! MY !! I got a bit tipsy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So ARREST me NOW...???!!!!!!!!!!!!! And....for what????? Not adhering to this establishment's criteria???????????? I honestly did NOT say anything or DO anything that was unacceptable......I was not "acting" in an "unacceptable" manner...... You can decide what that may mean..... I wrote a comment on THEIR web-site about the experience. Obviously I will NOT go back there and I would not suggest you to go back either - Unless you fit their "mold"....It will not be hard to figure out their "mold" is if you live here in Indianapolis .... that is up to you!!!

Kate M.

Yelp
Cozy atmosphere and always good food and service. We enjoy going around Christmas time, the vibe is on point

Jill C.

Yelp
Great lunch spot in Meridian Kessler. The service is spotty. Recommend the corn chowder!

Greg P.

Yelp
Had a wonderful visit for wine and appetizers last night with friends and family. As a group of 8, we were made comfortable in the private room upstairs. Loved the fried oysters, charcuterie and roasted beet salad. Very good wines by the glass were enjoyed. A perfect evening after the ISO concert downtown.

Leah H.

Yelp
This place is *chefs kiss*. Recently went here to celebrate my mothers birthday-PRO-TIP- make a reservation for outside seating weather permitting. It's gorgeous and intimate out there. We had a lovely server that guided us to a nice bottle of wine for the table. The craft cocktails were also very refreshing. I ordered a vegetarian dish, the gnocchi-very good but will definitely try something else next time I go as everything on the menu looked awesome. Can't wait to go back!

Jason -.

Yelp
Awesome place I enjoy my food, and the service was spectacular as well period I will be coming back

Rachael J.

Yelp
I am back to rave about this Calamari appetizer! Many places deep fry their calamari and it's delicious...if you saute it it's even more delicious. Great quality and worth getting your own and not sharing because it's that good!

June F.

Yelp
We came here few times before pandemic. First experience was very good and second time was pretty good too. Sadly third time was a bit of disappointment. Service was just ok. We came in for a birthday special but there was no extra special treatment on the house even after when I specifically said to the waiter that we were there to celebrate a birthday. We saw a table across getting a dessert with a candle light before we placed an order of a dessert. So we expected the same or similar. Even though we ordered a dessert, we did not get a candle with it. For this part of service I would give one star. Totally killed my mood. I mean how many times do I have to remind the waiter? Food was a bit of disappointment. Appetizers were ok but entrees weren't that great. NY strip steak was too dry. I personally don't like it when a steak is brought out all cut. It gets cold too fast. My duck dish was too raw. I barely ate through half and I passed it to my husband. He also thought it was too raw. The other two dishes were just ok, pork shank and boar bolognese. We had ordered a special dessert at the end. It wasn't on the menu but it sounded good. When it came out, I was disappointed by the size of the dessert. Seriously it was a bite size of two pieces of bread with some pineapple jam. Not sure how much they are charging but I'm sure it's not worth it. Also bread part was too dry. It was mentioned to our waiter but not sure if there will be any changes in the future. In between our meal, a manager came by our table for feedback but it was asked during a wrong time. We were in a middle of serious conversation. Interruption was at the wrong time. So we didn't express our true feelings about the food because I didn't want that part of conversation to become long. So we added comments about our meal when the waiter asked about the dessert. Overall experience was a bit of disappointment this time.

Betsy M.

Yelp
So I've been wondering about this place. I drive by it all the time and I've never had a chance to go. Well tonight was the night. Kind of a cool old-school vibe inside. We sat in the bar (which was all paneled) and I felt like I was at the lake! Super nice to have a valet and a coat check! I always love all the amenities. We skipped an appetizer and had the salmon and the wild boar Bolognese! Both were delicious and super hot. I like it when my food is fresh. We should've taken the waiter's suggestion for dessert because the cheesecake was not a good choice. Overall a pleasant experience and I would go back. The bar is the place to be.

Christina M.

Yelp
Good date night spot. Food and drinks are expensive and small portions. Service is good as you'd expect for the price range

Yelp
It has been at least 2-3 years since our last visit. We had a 645 reservation on a Saturday, arrived about five minutes early and were seated. They were maybe 80 full, not bad for a mid-January Saturday. Our waiter arrived with water and drink menu, after looking it over I picked the Stonewall (bourbon/blueberry cocktail) and my SO ordered a lemon drop martini. We then had time to look over the menu which changes seasonally. Our drinks arrived and we ordered the bone marrow app. My drink was good but a little sweet for my taste. Our waiter returned with rolls and a few minutes later our stater arrived, presentation was not what I expected but it was very flavorful and had a lot of spice. After cleaning the starter our server (Aaron) took our dinner order. I opted to start with the corn purée and settled on the duck for my main. My SO went with the scallops and we shared an order of fries. We noticed after ordering the restaurant was clearing out and there were only a couple tables seated after us. My soup arrived, nice portion (only picture I got) and great flavor. Our mains followed after a short lull. My duck was prepared to a perfect medium rare and had great flavor along with the roasted artichoke and parsnip purée. The sea scallops were very flavorful in a massaman curry sauce. The fries were good, especially dipped in the curry. While we were more than full we opted for the donuts for dessert, as good as I remember. Overall a very nice dining experience, Will try not to wait so long before my next visit.

Yelp
I just had to share an experience I had at Meridian yesterday. My sister and I were driving home from an event and we love Meridian so thought we would go there for lunch. When we got to the hostess and asked for a table she said she couldn't possible seat us because we didn't have a reservation even though more than half of the restaurant was empty. As soon as we got to the car I checked Open Table and sure enough there were tables available at 12:30 and we got there at 12:00. I should have made a reservation but her attitude was so bad I didn't want to give them our business and I will think long and hard before I do so again. Luckily we had a lovely lunch elsewhere.

Alexander C.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Meridian-Kessler area. The food is usually very good and service is almost always amazing. My wife and I stopped in for some appetizers before heading home. My favorite is always the Fried Oysters. It is absolutely delicious. We also had the Lamb Meatballs which are good but probably not one of my favorites. This time we also tried the Sweet Farmer's Cheese Culurgiones which were pretty good and interesting. The pasta shell was delicious and just know that the cheese truly has some sweetness to it.

Kevin R.

Yelp
Food was excellent, the staff was very attentive. The waiter was was concerned with our time schedule.

Mariam W.

Yelp
We order regularly from Meridian for takeout on Friday nights when we are feeling way too tired to cook but want a reward for making it through another week of 2020. Each time we order our food is ready within 20 minutes and is packaged very carefully (and I must add it is packaged enviro-friendly... no styrofoam!). Items from the current Autumn 2020 menu that I love are: 1. The seared chicken breast is by far this is my favorite item because the apple cider glaze makes the chicken and the veggies really flavorful. YUM. 2. Duck leg confit is the most Autumn dish you could think of. It's a cassoulet inside a pumpkin. Very french, very delicious. Presentation is not lost on the carry out order at all. 3. The dry-rubbed pork tenderloin is perfect for the person that loves savory and sweet combos. There's a pretty little apple tart for a pop of sweet. We've never been disappointed by our meals from this restaurant. Dining inside is even better than carry out because it has a cozy and romantic feeling place. Can't wait for Covid to be over so we can eat away from home again.

Felicity B.

Yelp
Hands down a MUST when in Indy. This restaurant/ the staff made us feel like we had been customers for the last 20 years. They treat you like family. My husband found this place when we were looking for an upscale but casual dinner location and this place far exceeded our expectations. The food is AMAZING. The chef even special freeze packed a dish for us to take home - who does that these days? 5 stars every time (and we dined here close to 10 times during our two month stay).

Josh G.

Yelp
The ora king salmon was amazing as always...the curry spice was so on point. Loved the couscous with coconut and lemongrass broth and the beets were delicious. The smoked corn purée is one of the best dishes you can get in the entire city...I would ask for it on my deathbed. It's amazing and perfect for a fall night. Our waiter Julian was awesome. The ambience is great...love the dark wood/cabin like feel and candles with the fireplace. Meridian is always a winner and we will be back again and again.

Nawshaba N.

Yelp
Had a great dinner at Meridian. Loved the ambiance and the food. The ribeye was delicious

Mohammad C.

Yelp
please never eat ate this restaurant his food very old and greasy some time make you sick

Drew K.

Yelp
We had an up-and-down experience at the Meridian Reataurant and Bar. While some courses were very good, others lacked completely. Our service throughout the night was quite good; our waiter, who clearly has worked there for a while, knew the history of the restaurant and was willing to entertain us with it as it was our first time dining in. The restaurant location seems to be a renovated house, and it feels quite homey on the inside. Our first course was a charcuterie board, and to call this a charcuterie board is a bit misleading. There wasn't much meat on the plate, so this is probably the low light of the night. I had the artisan greens salad for my second course, and it was okay - nothing special. The meal got better from there though, as the wild boar Bolognese was incredible. The noodles seemed to be very fresh, and the meat sauce was hearty and flavorful. We finished our meal by splitting the donuts for dessert, and this was also a highlight. Due to the price point, we won't be rushing to go back as there are a number of other options we would prefer at similar cost in the Indianapolis area.

Tank G.

Yelp
I was looking for a spot to have my annual swanky dinner and came across this place. I made a reservation and thank goodness I did because the place was packed. It is a very cozy place. It has a log cabin feel. I appears that the menu changes periodically. The have signature cocktails, beer, and of course a large wine selection. They have free valet parking and the parking lot is a bit tight. We were seated right away, but it took a while for our server came to our table. It was about 15 minutes or so. He said that he did not see us. Everything after that was great. The staff is very friendly. The manager personally checked on us and the food came out quick. I had some oysters and the lamb. The oysters came out very fast. Be warned they are not very big, but a decent appetizer. The lamb was very tasty. The restaurant definitely earned its 3 dollar signs, but its prices are very comparable to similar class restaurants.

Alexa H.

Yelp
Service was really nice but unfortunately this place missed the mark for the price you pay. We split the bone marrow as an appetizer which was good but not great, it was overwhelmed by the pretzel bread and overly spicy. My boyfriend ordered the miso soup which was good, however the plating missed the mark with oil splattered all over the bowl. We each ordered drinks which were fine with little finesse. My scallop curry was over salted and scallops were over cooked. For 49 dollars for the main dish I expected more.

Alexandria H.

Yelp
It's date night!!! Today was my turn to pick and I have been trying to come to this spot for quite some time! EVERYtime I tried to RSVP they were already full for evening, here's a hint: go early. I made a RSVP today for 5 and was easily able to change it to 5:30 using the Open Table app. The other plus side of getting there early is you are able to get a set on their patio. We personally picked inside (it's a little hot today for us) but we're seated next to a window and able to enjoy the scenery. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by the host and manager which was a pleasant surprise. The hostess quickly looked our reservation up, gave us the option of where to sit and placed us next to the window. We both ordered drinks when the waitress came around (within about 5 min) and placed our order. The menu was decent, not the widest selection but anyone could find SOMETHING on the menu. There was a wide variety of meats (including duck) and an all veggie dish. I ordered the duck, Mi Amor ordered the rack of lamb and we split an order of Mac n cheese. My duck was flavorful I loved the honey jalapeño glaze and wish it would've been thicker so I could've dipped the fingerling potatoes my dish came with. My favorite drink I ordered was the cherry sour......even if you're not a whisky drinker ( GET THIS DRINK) it was amazing! It was sweet (not too sweet) but had the punch you want your bourbon drink to have. The ambiance in the restaurant was gorgeous. If you want a low light romantic feel, this is your place! I won't lie the prices are higher than most, and I can't say it was worth it, but the overall experience was good and based off this alone I would recommend it.

Sharron B.

Yelp
Excellent! Ambiance is perfect Service is impeccable Parking is plentiful Cocktails were perfect Highly recommended

Yelp
My siblings and I recently hosted my parents 25th wedding anniversary at the Meridian Restaurant & Bar. When I called to make the reservation for our party of 9, I inquired about the availability of a private room for rent. To my delight and surprise, the staff let me know they had a private room upstairs (with a private bathroom across the hall) available at no extra charge. The restaurant was very easy to find with ample parking. There was a kind of steep and winding staircase leading up to the private 2nd story room with very low head clearance (I'm 5'6 and had to duck) at one point, and I didn't see an elevator so I'm not sure it would work for anyone who couldn't easily do stairs. The lighting in the room was romantically dim and the overall aesthetic was kind of old-world log cabin. A very intimate setting and perfect for our celebration. The staff let my sister and I arrive 30 minutes prior to our reservation to decorate the room as well. There was a small TV on the wall in the room that we connected to in order to play my parents wedding video in the background of the party. The staff was very helpful in getting us the appropriate HDMI cable to connect our laptop. The TV resolution was a bit low and we never were able to get the sound working outside of playing it via our laptop, but it worked well enough for what we needed it to do. We ordered some of the local beers on tap and a bottle of pinot noir, both of which we all enjoyed. For appetizers we ordered the calamari, lamb meatballs, and a charcuterie board. I found the appetizers, while they tasted ok, to be overall very disappointing especially for the price. We received 3 very small meatballs and a very tiny plate amount of calamari. The charcuterie board was also pretty meager sad looking, especially compared to all the aesthetically pleasing, full, and delicious charcuterie boards I've had at other restaurants for a similar price. Our group ordered a variety of salads and soup, all of which were good. I had the mushroom soup myself and it was excellent. For entrees our group ordered things like: a porterhouse, swordfish, chicken, and the cheeseburger. We had the mac and cheese and French fries for sides. I personally had the chicken and mac and cheese and they were very good. I ended up taking half of the chicken home. For dessert we ordered things like: ice cream with chocolate sauce, the donuts, a dessert beverage (I can't recall which) and the pecan tart. All of them were very good, but I especially recommend the donuts. It came with a few mini donuts and their associated donut holes, homemade whipped cream, and a delicious glaze poured over them. Overall, I'd say we enjoyed our dining experience and the time my family spent at the Meridian together. The environment and private room were ideal for our event. Our waiter was very attentive and our drinks were never empty. The food was tasty overall, but the appetizers were meager and disappointing, which was not the ideal way to set the tone for the beginning of our dinner.

Yelp
Came here for a bday dinner couple months back. And made the right choice. Looking at the menu now, it looks like they've changed as their menu changes with the season. I can't exactly remember the names but I'll try to describe them. But when we first got here, it didn't look like there would be parking spots but they actually have good parking space. Our starters are pork belly and scallops. Boy, they are really good on the taste buds. Just really enjoyable. But like most fine dining places, serving size isn't great (Fine dining restaurants should have good adult serving size, not kiddie meal size IMO) but the flavors somewhat makes up for it. Main course are the steak and some fish (sorry). But regardless of them being nameless, both were very pretty good and made me make that mmmmmmmm sound. LOL. Steak meat was tender and the fish (looking at other pictures, it looked like it was crab stuff flounder) was just as good, full of flavoring. Serving size was decent for both. Restroom have papertowels and outside seating. When we went there it was still winter so no outdoor dinner. Definitely worth a comeback visit to check their seasonal menus.

Doug R.

Yelp
Had a business dinner here with seven folks this past Friday night and everything was great: the food, the setting, the conversation and the service were all impeccable and more than exceeded expectations! Good wine list, great menu and the historic but classy and classic environment is perfectly on brand for efficient, impressive but comfortable and friendly service. I had the Duck, which was delicious and perfectly done, and everyone enjoyed their dishes and selections. Meanwhile the "Bags of Donuts" were a great ending to a wonderful experience. Great job!

Margo J. C.

Yelp
The ambience is very nice and the location is beautifully set in a wooded area. The staff was not very friendly and the waiter was not very attentive, he never asked if we needed additional drinks. The food was good however I had a food sensitivity and I was told by the waiter and the original server that "the chef will not change the meal for you." That was disappointing and they stated that there was not replacement of that side dish until 20 min later when they suggested a replacement. The side dish substitute was good but the fish was too salty. The outside portion was good but the inside of the fish was not fully cooked.

Robin R.

Yelp
Delicious fall menu is now available. Our lunch party had a mushroom risotto, steak "fries" (grilled meat), and a cheeseburger. I opted for a fall salad with roasted squash, broccoli, and pecans with a light vinaigrette and blackened shrimp. Everything was quite good, including the service and ambiance. We arrived promptly when they opened at 11:00 and I noticed that the noise level rose appreciably as the restaurant filled. If you have hearing issues then arrive early or late.

Yelp
The service and ambiance were wonderful, but the food was not worth the $105 per person. I don't know if they understand what salt is. The fried oysters were excellent, but the corn soup and Caesar salad had no flavor. The duck was extremely chewy, but the purée's were very tasty. Don't know if we'll come back again.

Yelp
Took my big sister here for lunch today after an amazing time at the Lume exhibit at Newfields. The atmosphere is small, cozy and it has an upscale feel to it. (This is my 3rd time here). Food was delicious, I had the chicken club and spinach salad, my sister and the fried catfish tacos and glass of Riesling. She enjoyed herself as did I. Service was ok.

Yelp
We ordered some carryout pantry items during the COVID-19 outbreak. The process was very easy. We just called and let them know what items we wanted. They had our order packed up and ready to go before I arrived. We got some nice steaks from Fischer Farms and some of the biggest brussel sprouts and potatoes I have ever seen. I paid with a credit card at a register near the bar and I was in and out in just a few minutes.

Yelp
Atmosphere, service, wine list, cocktails, all nice. Food = mediocre and nothing to write home about. I had the halibut over hibiscus risotto. While the halibut was good, the risotto was a large lump of crap. Couldn't even tell there were single Arborio rice grains as they were all clumped together as if it was from the bottom of the pan. Worst risotto I've ever had. Will I dine again? Likely not.

Yelp
We called ahead to advise I have celiac disease and they stated they had numerous safe options. Advised them when we arrived and asked them to notify the chef and the waiter said it would not be a problem and they could accommodate--- still got pretty sick . I had ordered the salmon and artisan greens salad. Husband got the boar and said it was very good though and sister in law stated the halibut was as well. Unfortunately drinks were not made well (family got a Manhattan and old fashioned), and the charcuterie my family got had very few meat and cheese options. Beautiful building/setting. Wish I can say we would be coming back. Would maybe advise labeling your choices as for "gluten intolerant" instead of "gluten free"

Yelp
Yep. Five stars. Count 'em. Meridian Restaurant & Bar is one of those places I've driven past dozens of times, on our way to downtown Indy on Meridian. Yesterday, we had friends visiting from out of town, and we all decided to meet there at 11:30 for lunch. I can't say enough good things about the experience. I'm going to focus on what I personally had to eat, but rest assured, all four of us were blown away with our selections. I had the Boar Bolognese (pasta). It was without question one of the very best pasta dishes I've ever had, and I've had them everywhere. My sincere apologies to the Mona Lisa restaurant in San Francisco. Your Pasta Bolognese has been de-throned, as much as it hurts to say that. I realize that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, so let me try to quantify: The Bolognese sauce is really more of a meat sauce than anything else, with very little tomato. It appeared to be made in the proper, traditional way, with the Italian 'Holy Trinity' conspicuously present. Lots of tender carrots, which is awesome. The pasta itself is the "squiggly macaroni" type of pasta, and it was nicely cooked and not overdone. The decor inside is nicely decked-out for Christmas, and as the crowd started to pick up toward 1pm, the noise level was very manageable. The best endorsement I can give is this: I immediately made reservations for the entire family for Christmas Eve. To say we're coming back would be an understatement. This is now my go-to meal in my go-to restaurant. Bravo.
