We have been holidaying here in Merimbula for the past four years. We discovered the RSL on our first trip and each year the food and service has been excellent. The staff are wonderful, friendly, polite and they are always on the move. Team work is great to see, they all work together and treat one another well. The food never has disappointed, generous portions, great quality and the desserts are to die for, especially the lemon meringue pie. Well done Merimbula RSL. Compliments to the chefs. Please pass on our thanks to all your staff. Sydney clubs could learn a lot from your team members.

My husband and I attended on Sunday 14th December 2025. Such a friendly group of people from our initial server to the lady who greets you at the entry. Important message for members of other RSL clubs around Australia, they do not discount members other than Merimbula members. Hubby had the chicken parma and I had the Fish of The Day which was crispy skin Salmon. Both were delicious and are large portions. Mine came with potato rosti, asparagus and blistered tomatoes. The sauce was delicious. The Parma came with a garden salad and chips. Both meals were on the table in about 10 minutes. Overall a very good experience. The venue is large and you are not squashed in like sardines. Staff are professional and friendly. Drinks prices are very reasonable. Meal prices are around $30-$50 depending on what you order.

Merimbula RSL is a lovely place to have a meal or just to sit & admire the view with a glass of wine or cold drink of your choice. The atmosphere is relaxing. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful. The meals were sensational, we had the Pork belly & sautéed scallops, the veal scallopini & the garlic herb bread. There was a wide selection of meals & drinks all at a reasonable price. We would highly recommend you visit the RSL you won’t be disappointed. 😃

Very good experience at RSL last night. From the time we signed in til the time we left we had a great customer experience. Special shout out to Dean, delightful fella. We both had the pork roast, pork was tender, couldn’t fault the meal. Drinks very reasonably priced. Will definitely return before going back to Melbourne

What a disappointment! Table of four, all share the same view. The food was terrible. Service, excellent. The staff were very good. No complaints there.Seafood crepe! Disgraceful, two prawns, two scollops, two small bits of calamari, NO white fish as advertised on menu and a horrible crepe. For $31.00 I would have preferred going to Golden Arches. Roast of the day, beef! Again disappointing. Not a cheap night out. A very poor dining experience. Never going back!

Oct 2024 (second visit a year later) My experience was the same as the first time I attended: a positive experience and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. They have uphelp a high standard. _____________________________________ I visited the RSL on a Monday evening, finding the venue comfortably busy and filled with a lively atmosphere. The food arrived promptly, and every dish was very good. In a group of six, each of us ordered something different, and we all enjoyed our meals. Notably, the chicken nuggets in the kids' meal pleasantly surprised me; they were freshly prepared and juicy, a far cry from the usual frozen, processed version I usually encounter. However, my only drawback was that we couldn't take leftovers home. One member of our group couldn't finish her pizza, and it was a shame to leave it behind and waste food. The service was excellent, with friendly staff, and the venue was well-managed.

Absolutely loved the place. The restaurant is fantastic with nice views of the water, as for the food it was really good we only had lunch there, the staff were amazing and so accommodating the menu has a nice variety and price was quite reasonable. The pokie venue is amazing and for those lucky Victorians who miss it, you can smoke whilst play I mg the pokies also, they have a area thats outside dedicated to smokers. 5 stars. And thank you Merimbula RSL for such a wonderful time.

We visited the RSL a few nights ago after a long day, and our kids were very overtired and not in the best mood. I’d like to give a special thank you to Troy, who completely turned the night around. When delivering food, he used a funny high-pitched voice, and within seconds they were laughing, relaxed, and actually enjoying themselves. The change was instant - they ate all of their meals and were in great spirits for the rest of the evening. They spent the night laughing and running around the venue, still copying the silly voices and having fun. It made a huge difference to our experience as a family, and we really appreciated the effort and kindness. Great service like that doesn’t go unnoticed.

Yelp
One odd thing about Australia, or at least this part, is the number of places that purport to be "clubs" but require no fee to join. Nor do they have any membership criteria, other than to make you show your ID and get a temporary membership for 30 days. If you happen to lose this membership paper, it's no problem - just show your ID again. It makes me wonder why they bother; and the word "club" also sort of loses its meaning. These clubs tend to have restaurants and bars, but they also allow gambling and gaming, so I can only assume this whole charade is a way to get around gaming laws (?) The RSL club is the largest of these establishments in Merimbula (the other main one being the Sapphire club). It's also the one we've found to have the better food. To be more specific: compared to all restaurants, the food is just average; but the service is fast, the servings are large and the prices are better. The advantage of coming here in a group with varying tastes is the menu - It has a tremendous variety. They seem to offer almost anything you can think of; they even have decent selection of Chinese and Thai offerings. No ordering at the table though; all orders must be placed at the counter. All drink orders must be placed separately at the bar. Weird. My meals so far: -- Nasi goreng: large; nicely prepared meats with the rice mix; Spicing was a little too mild. Not the best I've had, but not bad either. -- Lamb shank: a bit disappointing. The lamb was tender but flavor was very dull. The veggie ratatouille underneath also tasted bland, other than being dominated by tomato flavor. The dish featured a over-large pile of peas on top. (and I can only eat so many peas). Not a repeat order -- Pad See Ew: Pretty good and a large serving. And the price ($14 Aus) was hard to beat The RSL club isn't much too look at. The architecture is utilitarian and the inside looks like a large cafeteria. I may be back before my trip is over, but if not I won't be too upset.

Yelp
For a seaside town and proud of its fresh seafood the RSL could not have butchered it any more. Oysters were the smallest I have ever seen. The Barramundi was grey and unappealing with cold prawns. Flathead fillets are hard to stuff up but they managed to. Soggy batter and chips that hardly saw the oil they were so under cooked. After getting rave reviews from a couple of locals we could not have been more disappointed. The saving grace was the service. It was excellent.
