Meritel Hanoi

Welcoming staff. Cosy atmosphere. Excellent location. One of the best à la carte restaurants in town. I really enjoyed eating there; the service, the quality, the presentation and atmosphere all perfect. Only thing I didn’t like was that they charged me extra 5% for paying with card. My room was big, well decorated and clean. Big balcony as well with beautiful views. Unfortunately the matress pad had a hole/ dip on it and I had to remove it so I could sleep well. Perfect gym for traveling and nice pool as well.

If I could give 6 stars, I absolutely would. After a 12-hour flight, we arrived at Meritel Hanoi and were warmly welcomed by the staff with refreshing cold towels and a welcome drink — exactly what we needed after such a long journey. The check-in experience was smooth, and the hospitality immediately stood out. After spending a few nights in Hanoi, we traveled to other destinations and later returned to Meritel — and somehow, the welcome the second time was even warmer than the first. The staff truly make you feel remembered and valued. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Hanoi, Meritel is an easy choice. Exceptional service, genuine hospitality, and a fantastic experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

My partner, Amy and I stayed here for a few nights in late January. The hotel is beautiful and very well located - ideal for exploring Hanoi. What stood out for us was the Meritel team – from the start everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and courteous - a special mention to Mike who was lovely and gave us brilliant local advice on the sights and best places to eat. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay and was reachable via Whatsapp. Thank you! Stunning room and facilities too – although a bit noisy at night (but it is Hanoi after all). There were also nice touches along the way with various treats. Breakfast was delicious! Overall we highly recommend as a great hotel to stay in Hanoi. A big thank you from Amy & Raj. Cam on!

We stayed here last night to celebrate my 30th birthday, and the room had been beautifully decorated ready for our arrival, which was a lovely touch. We were really impressed with the service — the staff are incredibly attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel clearly values its guests and their feedback; when we mentioned a couple of small issues, they were addressed straight away. From the moment you arrive, the team truly goes above and beyond to make your stay special. 🎉✨

We loved our stay at the Meritel. The service was truly exceptional. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Katy, the concierge, spoke excellent English and really connected well with the clients. The breakfast included a great buffet with a variety of Vietnamese and Western dishes, as well as an omelette bar, a noodle bar and a small a la carte menu. The room was comfortable and very clean. The rooftop bar had a nice view of the city. The bartender had an English accent and I could have sworn he was from London. But he says he is Vietnamese and has never been to England. I heard that he practiced his English by watching Harry Potter. The location is very central, a 15 minute walk to the Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. In summary, the Meritel Hanoi is a charming boutique hotel and we would definitely stay there again if we return to Hanoi.

Headline - this place is brilliant! A really nice hotel on one of the main streets in Hanoi. The reception sets the tone for the place - a nice, grand, open foyer with huge doors keeping the outside outside and the inside as a tranquil little space of peace to watch the traffic roll by. The room we had was nice and large, the bed was huge, the bathroom was very big with an excellent walk in shower. There’s all the usual - a large tv with more channels than I made it through, aircon, phone, safe etc etc. Although centrally placed and on a main road, the room was quiet (we went for an ‘inside room’ with no balcony), we didn’t hear a sound from the outside world at night which was great as there is always traffic. The restaurant is really good - obviously more expensive that some of the surrounding eateries but you get what you pay for and the quality was absolutely tip top. The staff are all brilliant - from the front desk to the service staff, everyone friendly and helpful, explaining things where needed and making sure you have everything you could want. Sitting here in reception awaiting a bus to take us to Lan Ha, the reception have been in touch with the tour company and driver dire to and kept us posted on the progress, it really is a personal touch. If you’re going to Hanoi, you must consider staying here, genuine top marks all round!

This was our first stay in Vietnam and boy, it did not disappoint!! Breakfast was amazing, the room was super spacious, and the service is great! I believe her name was Anh (short black hair) was so unbelievably helpful!! She helped me plan our entire itinerary for Vietnam and spent 30 minutes with me. She would always check in with us and offered recommendations for things to do and see in Hanoi. Shoutout to Judy and Derrick for all the help as well. The spa is a must as well. The steam room and sauna experience is private and well worth it. When we return to Hanoi, we will definitely be staying at Meritel again. Thanks!!

We spent two nights here and it was fantastic! We stayed in the superior room with window on level 2, however it was an internal window facing into the hotel hallway, we didn’t mind as the window has total blockout blinds, but it is slightly misleading when you usually expect a window to face outside for natural sunlight. The hotel building is connected on either side by other buildings so it makes sense that most room will not have outside views, just something to consider if you are expecting a window, that is the only reason I give 4 stars for the room. Everything else in the room was top notch; very clean and luxurious. With that said, the entire experience otherwise was flawless. From the moment we walked in the front door we felt like VIPs and all of the staff were simply amazing and assisted us promptly with anything we needed. The fresh fruit and drink upon arrival was a wonderful touch, and the rooftop bar was really fantastic. Staff member Jelly was incredibly kind and prompt to assist us with our travel plans, including local food recommendations and ensuring our stay was comfortable. Overall we would not hesitate to come back here and definitely recommend it. It was an oasis in the busy city of Hanoi.
