Meritin Hotel Kuching

The hotel is very conveniently located near several local attractions I could easily stroll to the Waterfront in about 10 min, Carpenter Street and India Street in 15 min, and even the Borneo Cultures Museum in approximately 25 min. Kuching is surprisingly pedestrian-friendly, with pleasant walking paths throughout the city. There's also a 7-11 and a mini-mart nearby, along with several dining options within walking distance.|The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The bathroom, including the shower and hairdryer, worked perfectly. I also appreciated the clean electric kettle provided. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to connect with guests, adding a personal touch to the stay. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety, with both Western and local options to choose from.|Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again if I return to Kuching.

Excellent stay. The hotel is well located (few minutes from the riverbank) and close to a lot of restaurants , shops , supermarkets. The staff is lovely and the rooms is cosy , clean and it has all what is needed. I would stay there again

Not bad if you get a good price and well located. The staff felt like they had no power to creatively solve problems, and, as a result, preferred to NOT get back to us when addressing the issues we had. No real acceptance that they should be looking after longer term patrons (we were there six nights)... Oh, and don't pick the studio rooms if you are traveling with a cat that needs nightly swinging. It's good...not great. You can probably do better.

Small hotel , had room to the front of the hotel , but music from pub across the road kept us awake for most of night. Asked to be moved. But nothing available. Until next day. | Helpful staff |Breakfast - not much selection of fruit available. Very basic and small area. ||Hotel less than 5 min from waterfront , but quite a busy main road outside the hotel with loud traffic

Superb friendly and courteous services by hotel staffs, exceeds expectation of a 3-star. Breakfast spread is reasonable, very clean and comfortable rooms. Value for money 👍🏼

The places itself was so simple and so clean. The room so spacious and comfortable . Air conditioning so good. Easy access for elderly as it have lift. I'm so happy and way much cheaper. Worth every penny I spend.

We experienced the most torturous night staying in Meritin Hotel. The air-conditioning was not working, the room was very stuffy even after they restarted twice. The window cannot close properly and the Redneck Bar's loud music bothered us the whole night and the hotel staff told us it will only last till 2am! The staff simply said no other rooms were available as they're fully booked and brought in a portable air-conditioning with a big hot air pipe and messy long wire. We couldn't even walk properly for fear of tripping over the pipe and wire. The hot air had to be piped in to the toilet and it was hot like sauna when we used the toilet. We can't close the bathroom door because of the hot air pipe, hot air either pipes into the bathroom or into the hotel room itself. Can you imagine not being able to close the toilet door when room sharing with another or subject the other person to hot air stuffiness in the room while the toilet is occupied?? We checked out at 6am because it was a hellish experience staying there. They offered complimentary 1 night stay ONLY AFTER we left but who would dare to go back when they can put you through hell by simply saying no rooms are available and you are stuck as it's too late to source for another hotel elsewhere. We need to be well taken care while we are at the hotel and not after we leave, no complimentary offers can make up for the torture Meritin put us through. Refer to photos.
