Meritin Hotel Kuching

Meritin Hotel - Lovely stay, big thanks to Gabriel, Akmal and my brother Paul! Just stayed here with my wife and mum – we’re from China. My brother Paul recommended this hotel, as he’d just stayed for two to three weeks. The room was absolutely great! It’s really comfortable, with a dry-wet separated toilet – the toilet bowl is the Japanese famous brand TOTO and the flushing power is extremely strong. There were plenty of towels too, and the HSKP staff always replenished our daily necessities promptly – so thoughtful! We also borrowed plates, cutlery from the lobby restaurant easily which was very convenient. Only one small thing: the air conditioning was a bit too cold in the room. I really want to say how good Gabriel (FO staff) and Akmal (Operations Manager) were. Gabriel was so helpful: my TV box wasn’t working properly, he fixed it quickly and showed me how to use it. He’s so friendly and patient; Akmal was great too – whenever we needed something he helped straight away, very enthusiastic and always sorted things out perfectly. Arrived very early and had no issues checking-in early, process was quick and smooth. Location is excellent, within walking distance to many iconic cat statues, the Waterfront and many food spots. The room was clean, felt very new and well kept. Housekeeping staff even left a welcome note. The only downside is the speed of the lift, it can be bit slow as there is only one for guests. Overall, a lovely experience and would definitely stay here again if visiting Kuching.

Excellent location. Right in the heart of the Cat City. Lots of local delicacies nearby the hotel within walking distance. Not worth having breakfast in the hotel. Services could have been better such as luggage assistance. Cleanliness is pretty ok. Overall, not too bad for this value.

Meritin was a welcome treat in my stay at Kuching. It's close by to the waterfront and a lot of well known Kuching eateries The front staff is efficient and can communicate well. The check in process was very easy Rooms itself are also clean. Only issue is the soundproofing as can hear noises from outside (there are some bars outside) and from other rooms next door if they are being noisy. Would stay again.

Strategically located & within walking distance to all the attractions. A very diverse eateries of Nonya cuisine, Chinese, Malays & Indians so one is spoilt for choice.The staffs, from reception to housekeeping are very friendly & helpful. The management staffs are equally friendly & greeted hotel guests.I will definitely return on my next visit & will recommend anyone looking for a affordable hotel with an excellent service.

A local recommended the hotel, and I'm glad I booked it. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bonus points would be the location, as it is surrounded by authentic local food places, and just a few meters away from the hotel is a great foot massage centre for families. Book early to get their reasonable rates. The only drawback is that no disposable razor is provided, but then if you are on a holiday, there’s no need to shave…unless you are there for a meeting, then it’s a must-have.

The guest room offers a mid-range spatial experience, being neither overly spacious nor uncomfortably small. The hotel is notably cosmopolitan, hosting a significant number of international travelers. Breakfast is considered satisfactory and demonstrates variety through a daily rotating menu, with the exception of the standard bread selections and the regional constant, Laksa Sarawak.

Great place to stay, very central, in china town. Bed was comfortable. Very good breakfast. You can find restaurants close to the hoteL Friendly and professional staff at reception. When leaving, our flight was in the evening and it was possible at small extra cost to keep our room until 18h. I would recommend to stay here and I will come back a next time! Kuching is a such a great place!
