Meritin Hotel Kuching

We stayed at Meritin Hotel from December 2024 to January 2025. The location is excellent, but what truly made the stay memorable was the outstanding hospitality from the staff—especially Akmal. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. The room is clean and the facilities are well-maintained, which we really appreciated throughout our stay. This trip was for our mom. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication at check-in. Although we had already paid upfront, she was asked to pay the full amount again upon arrival. While we understand that a RM100 deposit is required at check-in, being asked to pay the full price again was concerning. Thankfully, the front desk eventually found the payment confirmation and resolved the issue. Despite that, we truly appreciate the warmth and professionalism of the Meritin staff. Because of them, we’ll definitely stay here again when we’re back in Kuching. Thank you for making us feel at home.

Currently waiting at the lobby for my room to be available. Check in time is 3:00pm and check out time is 12noon. 3 hours and u can’t get the room ready? I already arrive at 3:20pm. 20 minutes after supposed check in time! And they even have the audacity to ask me to wait until 4pm? After i asked them to make it faster, they ask me to wait 20 minutes. I write this review while waiting. I will update or delete the review after i get my room. Update : i get the room at 3:45pm. 25mins waiting. The room is nice & clean. I just don’t like the fact that the joined 2 super single bed and says it is queen bed. Due to the delay, they offer me complimentary drinks and fruits. For me, it’s a good hospitality when you acknowledged your mistake.

Had a great stay here ,clean room quiet even when the bars played live music. Staff is really nice and friendly Malaysian hospitality at its finest. They kept a few bags in storage for 2days while we were of to bako and have a room ready for us when we returned. Will come back next time

We booked a Triple Room via Booking.com for a quick overnight stay before heading back to KL, and it was a decent choice for a good night’s sleep. The location is great — close to nearby attractions, making it easy to explore Kuching even with limited time. The bed was comfortable enough, and the price was reasonable for the location and convenience. One minor hiccup was that the room kettle didn’t work on the morning of check-out, but as we were leaving soon, it wasn’t a big deal. Overall, still a pleasant stay and would consider coming back for a short trip.

It’s a pleasant hotel to stay in, close to most places in Sarawak by Uber. Room is clean and towels are changed daily. Breakfast is simple and healthy. Make sure you request for the room that has windows and also not facing the street. This way you can see the beautiful sunrise from your window!

Stellar staff, wonderful stay! Highly recommended! It was already a great stay with the excellent location and spacious, clean rooms, but the warm and professional staff made it even more pleasant. Special thanks to Manager Mr. Akmal for his bright smile and top-notch front desk service, answering my queries, accommodating my early check-in request due to meetings, and to Housekeeping staff Malek for his hard work in preparing the room early. Stayed in this hotel throughout my Sarawak trip. Service was great, the receptionists were helpful and polite. They allowed us to check in earlier since the room is ald vacant. Cleanliness can be improved. Noticed stain on blanket as soon as we checked in. Hotel staff came and change the sheets after informing. Room was not very spacious but sufficient for both of us. Location was ok, not too near from waterfront but distance is still walkable. There’s many restaurants nearby and even souvenir shops.

Really good hotel, staffs were friendly and very accommodative. Able to allow me to early check in (which I deeply appreciate). Location were great too as well. Rooms - no complain. Quite comfy and clean. However, if you are very sensitive to sound and surrounding, then probably might be a bit turn off for you since there’s a pub nearby. Music can be loud especially during weekends and holidays.
