Merlin Farm Eco Cottages, Near Newquay, Cornwall - Explore & Book
"It was love at first sight when owners Darrel and Lucy laid eyes on this idyllic spot. Tucked away in the north Cornish countryside, Merlin Farm sits in the hills above the tiny village of Mawgan Porth. A pretty wooded trail leads you down to its beach, a wide but sheltered gold-sand bay fringed by caves and rock pools, popular with surfers and families alike.Old farm barns have been transformed into 3 attractive Eco-Cottages, with floor-to-ceiling glass fronts giving spectacular valley views, and the more private and detached stylish Trevone Cottage. Each eco-cottage has a small enclosed courtyard, Trevone has a larger lawned garden. All have underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove and Egyptian cotton bedlinen. You feel like you’re staying in a boutique hotel but with the flexibility of self-catering; plus it's perfect for those wishing to get away from it all (Cornwall can be busy at times). But best of all are the eco creds: ground-source heat pumps, high-spec insulation, solar-powered hot water (in the Eco-Cottages), and electricity is generated onsite via solar PV panels in the field.

We have just returned from a lovely stay in Merlin Farm Cottages. Very comfortable accommodation on the edge of Mawgan Porth. Thank you for the tea, coffee and biscuits and the gin and tonic. The living room patio area was very spacious and the sliding doors allowed lots of light in even on a rainy day. Everything was catered for, stylishly furnished with fridge/freezer, washing machine, dryer, complete kitchen utensils and even a his and hers bath robes in the wardrobe. Every request was met by the hosts who were very approachable. We walked down to Mawgan Porth everyday through the woods with giant fur cones and past the trampoline play area. We also slept very peacefully and would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you for out thoroughly enjoyable stay.

We have just returned from a 2 week stay in the Harlyn Cottage, and we are gutted to be home. We loved staying on Merlin Farm! The cottage was beautifully designed and was so well equipped with everything you may need. Both bedrooms have plenty of space and really comfy beds. ||The beach was a 15-20 minute walk away which was great, the hill is a little steep on the way back but we just stopped for a breather half way up! ||Lucy and Darrel are the perfect hosts, really friendly and on hand if you need them. The welcome drinks and biscuits were very gratefully received on arrival 😊 ||Merlin Farm really is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some family time away. We will definitely be back! ||Thank you again for a lovely stay x

We stayed at Merlin Farm holiday Cottages the week beginning 9th June in Constantine with friends, we all love walking & with beautiful coastal walks on the doorstep we were spoiled for choice. The location is great for exploring with a short walk to the beach & places to eat. When not walking we enjoyed sitting in the tranquil garden listening to the birds singing we also got a glimpse of a dear in the field. The cottage is beautiful & tastefully furnished, very comfortable beds & fully equipped for all your needs. Loving the luxury toiletries in the bathrooms.
Will definitely come back 😄

😊: This property was very clean and comfortable. The location was fantastic, with so many beautiful places to explore within 30 mins drive! The beach was a short drive away which was fine for us!.
😢: Closer to the beach would be ideal but everything else was sensational!.

Returned from Merlins farm last week and we still have the blues. 4 adults and 1 baby, loads of space and everything you need so you don't have to pack the kitchen sink. In the middle of everywhere so loads to see and do. Attentive hosts that go the extra mile that are there in the background so you don't feel like you’re a guest and more like your at home. The lodges are stunning and have a real family feel, right down the kids toys and board games. Stair gates, baby toys, high chairs and travel cots. Real attention to detail, great communication so say no more. See you again soon.

Holiday cottage of dreams! This is my third time returning to Merlin’s farm and each time it’s more stunning than I remember. We went as a whole family and booked two of the eco cottages side by side. Merlin’s farm is an unbelievably beautiful place. The views from the glass windows are stunning. It’s quiet and peaceful and feels like you are surrounded by huge sky. Everything even down to the hand soap is eco friendly. It’s within a few minutes drive from some of the best beaches in Cornwall. Lucy and Darryl are so kind and welcoming. Looking forward to returning! See you next year x

Fantastic stay in Constantine Cottage, located on a beautiful farm, a short distance from beautiful Mawgan Porth beach and the stunning views of Carnewas at Bedruthan (National Trust viewing point with great tearoom). Short drive to Newquay, Padstow and other lovely towns. Lucy and family were lovely and helpful throughout. The cottage was spacious, comfortable and well equipped for a baby which was so helpful. We had such a nice time we decided to stay an extra night, which was all very straightforward to arrange. Would definitely recommend.
