We loved our stay at the Mersey Chalets. We stayed in both the Chalets and in a Lodge room. Both were nice. Both had excellent views. Beds were great. Access to rivers (Mersey and Liverpool) was easy with free use of the resort's canoes and kayaks. Great proximity to Kejimkujik National Park trails as well. Wife lamented absence of fan in bedroom of the chalet. Avoid buying overpriced ice cream in the resort office.

We really enjoyed our time at Mersey River Chalets.  We had a great cabin in a great spot.  We really enjoyed the cabin and how well equipped it was.  Sheri was great helping us make our reservation - she provided information on the area and was helpful too during our stay.  She even pointed out the turtle nearby laying eggs.  We enjoyed two great canoe paddles and were joined on one by a loon.  We really had a fun stay in this lovely spot - thanks so much for such a great time.

This is a very beautiful resort, its truly a natures retreat. Sheri was great in accommodating our family. We will definitely be visiting again. The Free Canoes and Kayaks, the board walk, the nature, the sauna, theres no words to describe how peaceful it is there.

What a lovely hidden GEM!. If you are looking for a very quiet getaway, back to nature, chill zone place, this is it. No internet, No TV just nature and the sounds that come with her. If you canoe or kayak this a great launching spot. There is excellent cell service so you are not completely cut off from the rest of the world but it is close. Bring a book, a beverage some good food and enjoy!

Loved our two nights here. We stayed in one of the lodge rooms which we only booked with less than 48 hours notice on our way around Nova Scotia. The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds super comfy. There is no TV (the horror!) but you know that when you book. Wifi was fine, the shared kitchen we had to ourselves when we needed it. The surroundings are beautiful with woodland and lakeside trails. Not long walks, but then the national park is nearby, and still great for an easier day which we needed. It is quiet and the air is clean. Given our late booking the hosts were super quick to respond and share info, and our late arrival for our first night was accommodated by a simple self-check-in. On meeting our hosts we were made to feel very welcome and equally by some of the local fauna who came to say hello. Be careful with keeping screens or doors shut in the evening to avoid a few insect guests, but being in a 'dark skies' area be sure to go outside to enjoy the show if you get clear skies at night. Always a breathtaking experience wherever I've experienced it in the past and no different here.||I would 100% recommend this place and would stay here again if I had the good fortune to be back in Nova Scotia and in the area..

It is a beautiful and peaceful place where my family had a fun time canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and star gazing. I would highly recommend renting a chalet over the log house. It is not the entire house. The property manager lives upstairs, who is extremely sensitive to noise. We have three young kids who were playing the 3 days we were there and each of the 3 days, he either came down or emailed me and continued to complain that they were too loud. He eventually apologized and gave us a discount the day before we left but it did make for a very uncomfortable stay. We certainly did not feel welcome and felt like we were constantly bothering him. Downstairs is the housekeeping area so you aren't really renting a house. You are renting the 2nd level of a house even though they advertise as a "log house." Any kind of fan would make a big difference in the bedrooms but otherwise it was neat, clean, and comfortable. The chalets are separate and would have much more freedom for your kids. While I would recommend the property, I would not recommend the log house.

It was the most dog friendly place. Roxy our Pomsky loved the Chalet. The 1st thing she noticed was a dog Bowl and Towel with a Paw Print on it. She sniffed everything out. As we had a two bedroom chalet we just closed off the extra bedroom door. As you can see in the pictures, if you run out of Doggie Bags they have some hanging in a tree near the office. Their rules for dogs are no different than anywhere else you are staying at! One clean up their poop and another is don't let your dog carry on barking... They understand that dogs bark. Before booking clarify what the expectations are. We would definitely recommend this place.

We’ve enjoyed our stays at Mersey River Chalets for several years in different seasons and this year’s visit was no exception. We had a comfortable, very clean, updated chalet with a well-equipped light housekeeping kitchen, and a covered deck to enjoy a tranquil morning coffee after a restful sleep in a peaceful setting, and “happy hour” protected from late afternoon showers. It’s a great location to use as a base for day trips to Kejimkujik National Park and Annapolis Royal. Friends who stayed with us particularly enjoyed the night sky with an incredible view of starry wonders from a dock. We love to canoe and the dockside canoes make an early morning or evening paddle easy to do. We felt welcomed and found the management and staff very responsive to our requests. We aren’t bothered by poor Wi-Fi because one of the purposes of our visit is to disconnect for awhile. To us, it isn’t “a nature retreat”, it’s one of our favourite nature retreats.
