Meru Temple

Don’t get fooled by anyone wanting to show you this temple. Show respect by bringing a sarong. The temple, albeit very old, is not the most impressive one you can find in Mataram.

I'd give this zero stars if I could as there are teo people at the entrance of this temple who would try to scam you. The start at 50,000 IDR and when you tell them Google reviews said it was cheaper, they'll go on and tell you upgrades were done to the gates and all the money goes to fixing the temple. I didn't buy it so I left, then when I came by again they offered 20,000 IDR. Needless to say these people are there to scam you.

just beware of the entrance fee. we paid 15000 idr per person after negotiating from 50k. there is nothing much inside this place.

DO NOT GO Zero stars if I could, they just want to scam you for money. Wanted 250,000 for two people. Needless to say we left without seeing the temple we really wanted to see. So sad that this SCAM is allowed to continue.

The worst place ever! Don’t waste ur time and money here!! To be honest there is nothing here and all are empty!!! At the entrance, you will be stopped by this one man (I name him conned man) Bcos he appear in the same picture by other reviewers. Yes he will demand from you at least IDR50K for two! Bloody lazy guy and talk low about Muslim religion to the Hindu. He demanded for the money so called for the grass cutter of the temple area! I asked him why I need to pay for the temple? His answer was simple that the government doesn’t help the Hindu population due to minority at Lombok! So the visitors or foreigners have to pay to help them! Though in ur conversion rate, IDR50K for two is little, please consider not to give him. Go to the minimum of 5k- 10k each! If he charged more, there’s no regret ur not going inside as there is none there! I repeat, it’s none! Please consider ur choice in the itinerary!

Looked like an abandoned temple, they were no people apart from two of us. You have touts outside who would charge you 20k per person for entry without any ticket being issued. Inside the temple as well you have only 3 shrines . You have far more beautiful temples than this , better to avoid it.

Went there and they tried to charge me a fee to entry when there is none, after pointing it out the guy there told me that it was a donation for taking care of the place since the goverment doesnt help them. For me is reasonable to pay an entrance fee, but not for them to lie and tell that its compulsory to pay when is not just because we are tourist. Not worth it.
