The owner thinks she owns the street and gave us an exaggeratedly entitled nasty fresa face when she told us we couldn’t park in front of her hotel. Earlier we tried to eat pizza there and were given a bunch of mysterious and confusing (mis?)information which made us feel unwelcome and uninterested in navigating the situation. Also right next door is a place that’s full to the brim with drunk bad vibes people. The building was really pretty tho!

We were blown away by this super-friendly hotel in a gorgeous location. We only stayed as a stopover while driving from Guerrero to Oaxaca, but we could understand why other guests spent a week, and come back year after year. We watched the sunset and the sunrise as a whale frolicked on the horizon. We climbed the boulders and marveled at being on an (almost) deserted beach. ||||We stayed in a huge family room with one double bed, two single beds and a fridge. There's a ton of outdoor seating (hammocks, chairs, etc.) overlooking the ocean. The hotel has water coolers to refill personal water bottles. They have pizza and other vegetarian food.||||Highly recommended!

The most horrible experience for me and my family. This hotel is very expensive and doesn't have the basic services, light out, no water and no AC. The owner is a very rude person, I pay 3 extra tickets which my family already had paid, we never goin back again. I make the reservations in USA expecting the most wonderful experience with my family, but it was a nightmare. The kitchen closes early and the manager doesn't allow to get something to eat from other places. Even my kids were able to play, the website shows a beautiful pool but there's no one, if you plan to visit Playa Ventura there is a better places to stay, pool, AC services and the most exquisite regional food at reasonable prices. Be smart don't be fooled.

This place in a remote location in beautiful Guerrero beaches. Rooms are clean and confortable, though you must be aware spring-summer season might be a little too hot for no AC. The fans might help, not a lot though. The cuisine is just exquisite, great flavors and amazing service from the guys working there. The hard part is no phone signal works around not for you or the reservations to be taken. You could improve a lot on your reservation methods and manners. The reservation guy is not quite friendly.

We decided to stay over on Playa Ventura on the drive from Acapulco to Puerto Escondido and didn't know where to stay. In the end this place was a fantastic surprise. The hotel is a former beach home of a czech/mexican couple who now run it as a beach hotel. For the price and location we were expecting a basic place to sleep for the night and instead found a beach hotel that stylish and comfortable, potentially superior to staying in somewhere like Mazunte. The food was excellent, including fresh fish from the beach, The venue has tons of great places to hang out in the shade on hammocks and you can tell that the owners know what an international crowd would want in terms of a comfortable but relaxed beach stay. Overall I cannot recommend it enough. We did have problems with mosquitos but they have nets and you just have to manage this.

Beautiful location, clean very basic cabins. ||My friend and I arrived, no one was there to greet us. The owner is the most unfriendly person I have ever met. Hospitality is the last thing on his mind. There is no free WiFi. ||There are a couple of tables on the patio facing the beach which have a sign RESERVED fo the owner. He also has 2 Great Dane dogs. No one told us they belonged to him and if they were friendly or not. They live in the hotel. ||The dogs stared at us all through our meal. ||There was no ice, no extra fan we asked for because it was a really hot night, everything was an inconvenience to him I would never go back. Pretty spot. Diabolical stay.

We had 2 decent stays at the Casa de Piedra during our 3-week Mexico trip.||We found it accidentally looking for a stopover on the road from Acapulco to Puerto Escondido. ||It was an absolute lucky hit. ||||First the conclusion:||Meson Casa de Piedra is a wonderful, virtually paradisiacal place to stay if you are looking for an opportunity to really relax and let your soul take a rest directly at the beach. It's built with a lot of love for details and offers unique rooms in different sizes and features. It's great to do just nothing besides hanging around or having nice long walks on the beach.||The owners and and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Value for money for the rooms is very good. The cuisine is good but a little bit overpriced for what it offers.||||||Hotel/Rooms||First we stayed 2 nights in the roomy suite "CIELO", located in the first floor of a beautiful cabaña with a private terrace overlooking the ocean. It's partially "open" so you feel as a part of the surrounding nature-paradise. It's very unique, glass bottles in different colors are worked into the walls, creating colorful shadows when the sun shines through. The kingsize bed is comfy and equipped with a mosquito net. ||The second stay was only for 1 night in room no. 3, a smaller room with less comfort. Still, everything was clean and good.||||Cuisine||The staff seems to be mainly family-based and is very friendly and helpful. They run the hotels' cuisine, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner and all kind of drinks.||The menu consists of local specialities and everything we tried was good. However, fe found the prices are a little bit to high for the basic meals that are offered. ||Also, the awareness for "service" as in professional gastronomy has potential for improvement. ||||Good to know||- The owner has to huge dogs (Great Danes). They are more than lovely and sociable but always around so the place is not suitable if you are afraid of dogs.||- Although there is a small town nearby, you definitely need a car to come here and move around. It's basically in the middle of nowhere||- It's not allowed to bring own food and drinks to support the family that runs the restaurant and the bar||- Paradise = nature ≠ air condition ≠ always-on. Some of the rooms are partially open to the outside and during rain season you can be exposed to humidity and even rain entering with the wind. We loved it but it's not the right thing for you if you are used to club holidays. There is a WiFi but it's not working very well.
