The place is amazing. That could be the end of my review but there are some practical facts that I ought to mention.|1. This is a one suite hotel, on line the photos of the property from different web sites lead one to believe that there are several types of rooms to choose from but it is the Master Suite which is being offered (the one with the black claw foot tub in the bedroom)|2. The Master suite is so elegant and "sexy", if you are a couple there is no privacy, as the bedroom is a symphony of mirrors, glass, flowing gauzy textiles. It all works well.|3. As Coqui Coqui is a known purfumery, the entire building is awash in beautiful perfume, the Master Suite is no exception. Thus, if you are allergic to perfumes this is not for you. However, after a while, it is not overwhelming and it becomes part of the charm.|4. You are alone at night as the reception/store closes at 8pm. You are given a set of keys along with instructions on how to enter the building afterhours. It is quirky but fun and you feel like this is your place. Remember to make sure the doors are always locked afterwards. There is a resident manager who lives somewhere else in the "house" but I never met them in 4 days, or maybe I did and I didn't realize they were the resident manager...you become that relaxed.|5. You are given contact information and a set of phone numbers in case you need urgent assistance (24 hours).|6. There is free wifi but there are no phones nor TV in the suite, afterall you are here to relax.|7. I suppose because the interior design has been carefully currated, there are some basic items which are standard in hotels which are missing from view (recycle bin and trash basket) maybe you could ask for one but I was creative to keep trash out of site. There is no closet as such but a large glass fronted cabinet for your clothes. I have never kept a hotel room so neat to avoid ruining the atmosphere.|8. The private pool is lovely to look at from your sun loungers, but I did not go in as there was quite a bit of foilage from the trees floating on the surface, if you asked no doubt this would be addressed. Certainly not a big deal for me.|9. The included breakfast is substantial and very healthy and served wherever you wish at the time of your choosing.|10. The staff are charming, friendly and efficient. Roundtrip transfers from Cancun to the property were arranged by Coqui Coqui reservation's department and they were seemless. The driver contacted the staff as to his progress when coming to pick me up for my return to the Cancun airport. It takes about 3 hours in the current traffic and there is a time zone change between Valladolid and Cancun.|11. Air Conditioning works very well and there are ceiling fans. Only ceiling fans in your living room which has the best library I have ever seen in a hotel/ship. ||In conclusion, Meson de Malleville, is a place to truly relax and get away from it all as the saying goes. Valladolid is a great town with more than enough good restaurants and cafes. Since it is an artistic centre there are plenty of galleries and shops to keep you entertained as well as the historical sites and cenotes. I intended on visiting Chichen Itza, but I could pull myself away from my oasis.
