Coqui Coqui Meson de Malleville Valladolid Residence & Spa (Valladolid, Yucatan Peninsula) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Plenty of hotels endeavor to create the ambience of stepping inside a well-designed private residence, but Meson de Malleville doesn’t need to pretend — it was the family home of husband-and-wife founders of Coqui Coqui perfumes. Nestled within the colonial town of Valladolid, the traditional rose-hued exterior is the first sign that this is not your typical hotel. Inside, a well-collected look dominates the public and private spaces. The Master Suite is the room to book, as it comes with a private plunge pool, and while this isn’t the kind of place to expect multiple restaurants, there is an outdoor café for coffee and tea, as well as a boutique." - Tablet Hotels

The other reviews of this unique and lovely hotel are spot on. This is a lovely but quirky hotel for all of the reasons set forth in the other reviews. Very relaxing, beautiful rooms with a staff very anxious to accommodate. The city of Valladolid is charming and interesting and well worth the trip and there could not be a nicer or more unique hotel to stay in than this one.

A dream honestly! Spent 4 nights here and I felt like an 19th century princess. Breakfast was great, I slept comfortably and it was on a safe street. Will definitely return in the future

An unique place with an unique experience. Every single detail has been crafted for the guest's joy and it could not have a better location right in the heart of Valladolid downtown. Pictures won't make enough justice of this world class maison that most major cities will never have!

This place was awesome. My husband and I stayed at Meson de Malleville-Coqui Coqui Valladolid for two nights as our last stop on our honeymoon before going home. I can't say enough nice things about it. There was a bit of a language barrier as we don't speak Spanish very well, but everyone we interacted with (Soledad, Wendy, and a very nice man whose name I didn't catch) were so accommodating and friendly. They were so attentive and went above and beyond to make our experience a wonderful one. We stayed in the master suite - plunge pool and garden off the suite (which was amazing), beautiful room with twin tubs, large bathroom with outdoor shower, and a stocked mini-fridge. Our stay included a continental breakfast that was honestly the best continental breakfast I've ever had anywhere. Each morning we had fresh mango, yogurt, granola, toast, marmalade, fresh squeezed juice, and coffee in the courtyard. It was seriously such a wonderful experience, and such a beautiful place to stay - I wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend Coqui Coqui Valladolid to everyone. I can't wait to go back.

I stayed here for 2 days (a last minute booking when I disliked the other hotel I booked). This hotel was amazing!!! That said, a few things to expect.||||Pros: Aesthetically perfect - feels like being transported into a fantasy world of beauty long gone. Like, the ladies wear dresses that match the colorful tiles that match the tablecloths. They have a lot of little touches like each room gets its own scent as far as soaps, shampoo, etc to match the decor. Decor was gorgeous. Cleaning is spotless. There's a gorgeous inner courtyard (Moroccan riad style) with fountain that's lovely to hang out and enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine. I liked the simple breakfast of coffee (in a Le Creuset french press), their personal honey, yogurt, granola, bread, home-made pina jam. Bed & pillows are comfy.||||Location is great. On a gorgeous street (los Frailes) with cafes, shops, etc and near the convent. About a ten min walk from the "main" square in town.||||I would not call them "cons" per se, but one should be aware that this is a not a hotel that's a full service experience. I don't care about that, but there's only staff from around 7am to 8pm and you need to carry your keys with you and lock up if you come in late (they can make that experience a little easier with a better lock system - this was a pain ). The bathroom (at least mine) had a claw tooth, and there are some stairs in the property including one down to the bathroom, so it doesn't seem handicap accessible.||||I went to the spa just a few stores down. It was a beautiful spa - similar aesthetic special design - and the actual massage was the best I've had in ages. Also relatively cheap compared to US standards. Worth hanging out in the Perfumerie as well, it's fun going through all the scents.||||I'm hoping to go back to Mexico just to try their other spots! :)||||A shout out to Soledad, who is a beautiful host inside and out.||||Cheers,||R

Magical, one of the best hotels I have ever been. Design is incredible, service is very punctual, Soledad was very kind and Arturo very welcoming. Rooms are personalized with the perfumes you choose at the check in.

What is there to say about this experience other than it was superb. Everything about our stay at Meson de Malleville was unbelievable. The hotel is stunning. Elena, the woman at the front desk, is passionate about Coqui Coqui and explaining the meaning behind the hotel and parfumerie. She also provided the best food recommendations we received on our trip. Each room is stunning and each room has its own scent which is derived from local Yucatan ingredients. We only stayed for one night because we were traveling through but we will absolutely be back because it was such a memorable, luxurious, pleasurable experience. Thank you Elena and everyone at Coqui Coqui.

The place is amazing. That could be the end of my review but there are some practical facts that I ought to mention.|1. This is a one suite hotel, on line the photos of the property from different web sites lead one to believe that there are several types of rooms to choose from but it is the Master Suite which is being offered (the one with the black claw foot tub in the bedroom)|2. The Master suite is so elegant and "sexy", if you are a couple there is no privacy, as the bedroom is a symphony of mirrors, glass, flowing gauzy textiles. It all works well.|3. As Coqui Coqui is a known purfumery, the entire building is awash in beautiful perfume, the Master Suite is no exception. Thus, if you are allergic to perfumes this is not for you. However, after a while, it is not overwhelming and it becomes part of the charm.|4. You are alone at night as the reception/store closes at 8pm. You are given a set of keys along with instructions on how to enter the building afterhours. It is quirky but fun and you feel like this is your place. Remember to make sure the doors are always locked afterwards. There is a resident manager who lives somewhere else in the "house" but I never met them in 4 days, or maybe I did and I didn't realize they were the resident manager...you become that relaxed.|5. You are given contact information and a set of phone numbers in case you need urgent assistance (24 hours).|6. There is free wifi but there are no phones nor TV in the suite, afterall you are here to relax.|7. I suppose because the interior design has been carefully currated, there are some basic items which are standard in hotels which are missing from view (recycle bin and trash basket) maybe you could ask for one but I was creative to keep trash out of site. There is no closet as such but a large glass fronted cabinet for your clothes. I have never kept a hotel room so neat to avoid ruining the atmosphere.|8. The private pool is lovely to look at from your sun loungers, but I did not go in as there was quite a bit of foilage from the trees floating on the surface, if you asked no doubt this would be addressed. Certainly not a big deal for me.|9. The included breakfast is substantial and very healthy and served wherever you wish at the time of your choosing.|10. The staff are charming, friendly and efficient. Roundtrip transfers from Cancun to the property were arranged by Coqui Coqui reservation's department and they were seemless. The driver contacted the staff as to his progress when coming to pick me up for my return to the Cancun airport. It takes about 3 hours in the current traffic and there is a time zone change between Valladolid and Cancun.|11. Air Conditioning works very well and there are ceiling fans. Only ceiling fans in your living room which has the best library I have ever seen in a hotel/ship. ||In conclusion, Meson de Malleville, is a place to truly relax and get away from it all as the saying goes. Valladolid is a great town with more than enough good restaurants and cafes. Since it is an artistic centre there are plenty of galleries and shops to keep you entertained as well as the historical sites and cenotes. I intended on visiting Chichen Itza, but I could pull myself away from my oasis.
