I gave 4 star because the rooms are not sound proof ( I know it’s a very old building ) but we had noisy neighbors, churches, street traffic and it’s close to a hospital. Otherwise it was great.

Our stay here was a really nice experience. We were traveling in group (4 adults, 1 baby) and arrived roughly two hours before the official check-in. I just wanted to ask whether we could leave the car in the parking until the check-in time, but they immediately accepted an early check-in as the room was already ready. When I mentioned the baby, I was immediately offered a cradle which was then delivered to the room and installed a few minutes later. The room was quite large and has a seating area with TV. The free WiFi is really good (as opposed to many other hotels). The breakfast was included in our rate and we were positively surprised to see that there was a large variety of dishes we could choose from. All was prepared on demand. In general, the staff was extremely friendly and there is simply nothing to complain about. The hotel is 3 blocks away from the main square, where you can find restaurants, banks, etc If we have the opportunity to go back to Coatepec, we will definitely stay again at Meson del Alferez Coatepec.

A wonderful place to stay. The service is great and the hotel itself is unique and lovely. The architecture is stunning, including the gardens. The breakfast was nice and there is a bakery and a coffee place on the same block as the hotel. The bread next door is great by the way!

Super beautiful garden and cute room. Bed is upstairs loft type bathroom down. Not recommended for anyone with balance or stability issues. Stairs are tricky! Great breakfast! Had the omelette, and my wife had the chilaquiles Would stay again, loved the Coffee from this town!

This place is setup in what must have been a private home a hundred years or so ago. It has a central garden with a fountain, around which rooms are located.||||Rooms are the most unique I can remember, loft style, with narrow ceramic stairs, beautiful tiled bathrooms, and period wooden doors.||||The breakfast buffet is basic, but enough--you really don't want to fill up on hotel food in such a lovely town. Grab a coffee, fruit or pastry, then head out to find a nice spot to eat :)||||The staff is super friendly, parking is available in a private lot across the street, and the downtown is within walking distance.||||The WiFi is strong, the A/C + Heater unit does its job (winter nights can get really chilly in Veracruz).||||Do you have other options? Perhaps, but this one is unique :)

During our quick visit to Coatepec, we stayed in two hotels, and one of them was Meson del Alferez. Construction was formidable according to the rustic style of the town. We were assigned to the room 7, which was properly illuminated (some previous reviews claimed poor lighting), very clean. WiFi speed acceptable, TV cable with several US channels.|However, some points to improve: folkloric or ambient music in the restaurant (kitchen) would be nice, typical pan de horno (firewood baked bread) would increase the qualification of the breakfast.|Staff was very friendly.|Recommend place to stay and to relax.

The room was very clean and cosy. Very nice bathroom, with a big open shower. Downstairs was the bathroom and a sofa located, and upstairs the bedroom. Watch out with the stairs, especially at night, this can be tricky :) My only complaint was the mattress. In the morning I had some lower back pain, so this could have been of higher quality.
