😊: It is a great hotel in an old downtown building, it is 3 minutes from Xalapa's Downtown and there are a lot of restaurants and stuff to see around. The Restaurant and the rooms are great quality and really cosy. 😢: It is in a high hill, so for old people could be difficult to arrive. But that is the location constrain, nothing to do with the hotel..

😊: It was very inexpensive, and the room was cozy and charming. I also liked that it was very close to the marathon starting line, where I needed to go in the morning.. 😢: There really isn't anything I disliked. I suppose it would have been nice if the room had included a small refrigerator and a microwave oven..

I would give this five stars, but it’s not a five-star hotel. It’s more like a 3-star, but in that class, it’s a five. The rooms are classic Mexico hacienda style with mod-cons (AC that works, good WI, good water pressure). The street noice is intense outside, so ask for a room in back. We did, and had no problem sleeping. Some rooms have loft sleeping areas, so if you don’t want to climb steps to get to the bed, ask for a room all on one floor. The location is excellent. Breakfast is continental but good quality. For something different one morning, we went to the Cafe Don Justo around the corner, a very popular local spot with great coffee and a variety of egg dishes.

My son and his beautiful bride-to-be chose this for all of his family and friends coming from out of town. We were all on the same main floor. What a wonderful amazing time. The hotel was super beautiful and clean. People working there were amazing. My room (112) was beautiful, super clean and well stocked with coffee and water, fresh towels and toiletries ... so nice. The shower was excellent. A short walk to the wedding venue and favorite restaurants. A few steps downstairs to a wonderful breakfast and delicious coffee every morning. I will never forget my stay here, or my wonderful time in Xalapa MX.

This charming hotel in the center of town is a bargain. The room was clean, well kept and comfortable. The in-room coffee was the best I have ever had, even at places charging 5x as much. The breakfast in the restaurant was fresh and tasty. The staff does not speak much English, so having some Spanish is a must. The walls are thick and there is a lovely inner courtyard.

Charming colonial-style spot in a great location. You’re close to everything but it is still peaceful behind the thick walls. Our room was two levels - a downstairs with a sofa and bathroom and an upstairs sleeping loft. The nice thing about this arrangement is that if someone wants to get up early or stay up late reading they don’t disturb the other person. The downside is that if you have bad balance or mobility issues you may find the stairs difficult as they are narrow and steep. Also, the heating unit is fine but since it is upstairs it doesn’t really heat the lower level. |Water pressure and temperature were fine (always a sticking point for me here in Mexico). Breakfast is not included but it is really delicious and worth it. Beds were hard but not old or saggy. Overall, a fun place to stay and great value.

😊: Old colonial style building in the heart of Xalapa. All rooms have different names and the explication on the room’s door. Safe free parking (24/7) nearby.. 😢: It can get noisy due to the location in the city center..

An old small finca with great history. Possibly original layout and well tended gardens, with decent reception and waiting room along with a charming barber shop. ||As much as I like open inner courtyards, they do carry all kinds of sounds into the rooms, especially when the existing doors are flimsy old wood, and the windows have single glass panes.||Bare bones decor, much needed light in front of the sink to shave properly.||The restaurant below serves a good hearty breakfast a la carte. ||Location in the Centro is a big plus as I was able to walk everywhere and felt safe even at night.||Staff seems to be made up of part time employees and maybe for that reason found them impersonal. It is puzzling that someone bothers to reply to reviews since there was no one behind the desk that seemed vested in the place.|
