Extremely happy we got to stop here for lunch and experience local food. The service was very friendly despite our inability to speak Spanish. Google translate works perfect. We had the house specialties: blood sausage, chorizo, stewed mushrooms, and roasted leg of baby lamb. I did feel guilty eating the lamb, but it is so tender and well-spiced. After a carafe of wine and the great food, how am i going to walk for another 6km to tonight’s stay?

This is the most traditional and genuine experience you can get in a "Mesón Castellano" (Castilian traditional restaurant). The architecture, the interiors and of course the food, are the same since literally centuries. Friendly aged staff who know his stuff. Traditional dishes, but innovative desserts. You must try the "lechazo al horno".

Back in December 2022, I knocked on the door with a friend two hours before opening, asking if they had anything we could eat. We were pilgrims on the Camino and everything for the previous 5 hours on our walk had been closed. Needless to say, we were starving and desperate. Without hesitation, they immediately opened the doors to us, let us out of the cold, and served us two hot bowls of soup and a glass of wine. One of my most memorable Camino experiences and the best soup I’d ever had. The compassion we received here is something I’ll remember for a lifetime. Thank you so much

Wowowow, what a nice surprise, is a small town where nothing was open!! It was an oasis for a hungry pilgrim!! Super staff and waiter, Try anything and you will not be disappointed! But make sure you ask for the meet well done!! “No blood”

Pretty nice place. Keeps the old fashioned look of a former pilgrim's hospitality house. The food was quite good, first quality ingredients. And the staff are nice and welcoming. Charming atmosphere. I recommend it.

Amazing staff, fantastic food, cozy environment.. nothing I can complain about! Well worth a small detour of the main road for a meal in a familiar environment. If you are not used to portions in the North of Portugal and Spain, or you cant tackle a well complete plate, do share with someone. On my way back to Bilbao, I will for sure stop there again for a meal. Important if you speak a few words of spanish, to read the menu and speak with the staff!

Great food! Excellent service. They have a great attention for details. Highly recommend this restaurant for the lechazo! Be sure to call for a reservation because sometimes they fill up.

I come here every year for the best lamb around, take your time when you eat here, spend the afternoon and enjoy the experience, you will leave full.
