Loud music pounding from 6 p.m until 2 a.m. There is an Irish pub downstairs that plays Death Metal and Irish punk SUPER loud, and since it's part of the hotel now - he leaves the door open. From the other side of the hotel, there is a nightclub that plays clubbing music until 2 a.m. Also, the bed is so uncomfortable, the mattress and the pillows are so stiff. Made it really hard to sleep without waking up with a severe back and neck pain. And last but not least, half of our stay - the water heating system didn't work. It is very well located, but you can't really rest when the music is so loud and the bed is so uncomfortable.

Beautiful place to stay. The room was spacious and lovely, with direct access to a shared mini-terrace. However, there were no fans in the room, and it was extremely hot because there were only two small windows. It would have been more comfortable with a fan. The front desk staff provided exceptional service; they were very friendly and attentive. The location is perfect, and the price is excellent! I definitely recommend staying here, and I will certainly do so again.

I came here because of reviews on TripAdvisor. I see now that the good reviews are from years back. I checked in late, so I have no option of leaving. The place is dirty. There are hairs in the bathroom, not mine. There are hairballs and trash behind the bed. I got one stiff medium towel, no hand towels. I went out to buy better quality toilet paper and body soap. I should have gotten some Clorox wipes too. The couch has large holes. There are no plants in the patio like in the reviews. See the pics I have attached and go elsewhere for comfort.

The good: Excellent location. Staff very helpful with restaurant suggestions and walking directions. The downstairs common areas looked like the family just left the place intact in the 1950’s. I enjoyed relaxing on the upstairs terrace.|The bad: The room, however, was bad. The mattress was hard, and all the pillows were lumpy. The room was dirty; the night table was so dusty, I could write my initials on it. The room also smelled musty (they could have aired it out before I arrived). The room had 2 large Art Deco pieces of furniture, but very little place to put my belongings. The armoire was locked, the other furniture was a woman’s “makeup table”. I’d ask the owner(s) to experience what it’s like to stay in that room: to pack a suitcase for a 2-wk. trip and stay in the room for 3 nights.|

The San Sebastian, part of the Colombian Ayenda hotel group, is conveniently located in Puebla's city centre. It's a beautiful building said to be 400 years old, with two arcaded patios and furnished with impressive antiques and memorabilia. ||||There was hardly anyone else staying there so the staff and management made me welcome. Minor complaints are that the building can get cold at night and the water supply takes a while to heat up, but not unexpected for a 17th century building. Warmly (if that's the right word!) recommended.

This colorful, colonial charmer was very pleasant, and the room was huge with a convenient mini fridge. However, we had no hot water during our two-night stay. Wifi was spotty, but that's to be expected in an old place. The location is great, and the staff was very nice. Bottom line: if charm and location are more important than hot water and dependable wifi, then you'll be very happy.

We stumbled upon this property and couldn't have been more happy. We arrived at CAPU and randomly headed towards Zocolo and looked for a place to stay the night. We loved the place so much we stayed a second night and would have stayed a third if our flights out of Mexico City wasn't so early. Rooms were big and beautiful, courtyard with side rooms were appealing and comfortable and the location was ideal to the center. Highly recommend this hotel.

The room on the first floor was large, but really dark. The common areas are furnished with antiques and the area is bright. Our mayor problem with this hotel was the indifference of the staff at the front of the house. They were either on their phones, computer or talking with other staff. We had to ask for an area map and they couldn't provide any basic information about the area. We had to pull our own luggage through the common area in spite of my travelling companions mobility issues, a service we would have happily paid for. This was a return visit for us on our way to and from Oaxaca. We returned because we had excellent service from the man at the front desk on our way to Oaxaca. On our return we decided to stay for three days. Sadly, the service was the opposite in spite of a number of staff turnovers. Would now not return.

Yelp
The Hotel Mesón de San Sebastián in Puebla is terrible. I love traveling around Mexico and I regularly stay in 3 star hotels that are colonial and very Mexican. This is the first time that I find the rooms of this kind of hotel in terrible conditions. I asked to change rooms and the two rooms I stayed at, are characterized by: a) humid and penetrating odor; b) disgusting carpets; c) lack of total cleanliness in general; and d) rusted soap dishes in the shower. The location is great, but this place is so disgusting that I do not suggest anyone with a minimum sense of cleanliness to stay here. It will be a complete frustration.
