Had Sunday late lunch there with my friends. We had to wait to get a table for 20 min. Because this place is quite popular, also service is a lit bit slow. Food is delicious and prices are affordable, big portions. Greek salad was amazing, pork gyro - highly recommended !

One of the most delicious lamb and beef combinations plates ever had. Honestly you should be fan of fatty lamb otherwise try other mixtures but trust me you’ll be satisfied. Never skip their greek salad, you’ll need that freshness as a side of your food whatever it is. The greek fries plate is a to the point portion of home fries and greek feta. If you’re in Greek town don’t miss this place.

Visited here on a thurday spring night. Plenty room for dine in. Nice staff too. The inside atmosphere was a bit warm and it was a bit old. Especially the washrooms smelled like an old place but things were sufficiently clean. We ordered mixed beef/lamb plate. Came with a salad, and greek fries. Loved the fries and salad but we didn't like the meet at all. It was full of fat and seemed a bit low quality.

Had dinner at Messini Greek Restaurant and overall, it was a good experience. The portions are generous, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The Greek fries are definitely worth the extra $3—crispy and flavorful! As a vegetarian, I ordered the veggie pita, but it was basically just the salad ingredients served warm. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t feel like a real meal, so I wouldn’t say it’s the best option for vegetarians. If you eat meat, you’ll probably have a much better experience!

I have eaten here for years. The consistency of the food is great and it is very well priced. If you want to have high end Greek cuisine experience this is not a place for you but if you are hungry and want to get a quick delicious bit it is highly recommended.

Big portions of food, lots of seating available. The Greek fries were not very crispy. The meat plate was flavorful.

Food:3.5. Service: 4.5. Atmosphere:4. Food came in great portion and staff was friendly. Chicken souvlaki was our favorite, tender and marinated well. Lamb and beef gyro was a bit disappointing, felt like meat served in the same plate were not cooked evenly. Some over cooked and some not cooked well enough. Greek salad was in a big portion as well.

Out of town friends came to visit and they wanted to try some Greek food. We went to Messini since it is one of the popular options around the area. Pricing was reasonable and portions were good. We had the calamari which was fantastic, the salad and the Greek fries. All amazing. However, we all had the chicken pita and we all seemed to agree that the chicken was very dry. It was lacking taste and felt very, very dry, almost as if it wasn’t recently cooked. I’d say this place is kind of average and would likely try another spot before coming back! Atmospheres and service was great though, it’s just their chicken pita needs some work. Not on the pics as I forgot.

Yelp
Messini's is great value! Portions are very large and you get a nice variety of food with the plates (comes with a salad and your choice of rice/fries/roasted potatoes). A wrap costs $12 and a plate cost $24. Everything here was seasoned really well (not too salty). The Greek salad was fresh and came with a good amount of feta. The only thing I'll say is I would have liked the fries to be more crispy. If you're getting the plate, I recommend getting either rice or the roasted potatoes. The pictures don't do this justice - the portions are very big! Great place to satisfy your cravings at great value.

Yelp
I get why Messini is a neighbourhood staple with its food and vibe. Stopped by for lunch and got the chicken gyro pita. The chicken was pretty tasty, there was a good heaping of meat and fries for what it cost. Also, there's definitely a loudly fun vibe to this place that welcomes you as much as the food does. I guess that combination is why this spot has been a Danforth go-to.

Yelp
Good gyros for Canada! Sorry but I compare the gyros from Greece! If you're going to have a gyros this would be one place I would recommend. The Flavour could be a little better, over the years the taste has fallen a little bit. Still good. Service can be slow but over all quick. The place is busy and loud so if you're looking for a quiet place maybe not here.

Yelp
My go-to spot in Greektown for cheap and tasty Greek food with enormous portions! The inside is nice and cozy although a bit dated, but you're really coming here for the tasty food! I usually get their pork gyros meat platter with Greek salad and Greek fries, and honestly that is enough to feed 2 people. Portions are massive, both the main and sides are tasty, and the food comes quick! Service is friendly and fairly attentive though can be slow during busier times. Glad they've been around for so many years and hope they stay around for many more!

Yelp
Delicious! I visited tonight and had a wonderful time. Despite the fact that I was dining by myself, I was treated well and given a table right away. I ordered the calamari and a pork souvlaki. They gave me so much calamari that I never made it to the souvlaki and had to bring it back to my hotel. The calamari was fantastic, I highly recommend it. Service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. If you're in the neighborhood, stop in.

Yelp
Literally the worse gyro I ever had in my life. The meat was filled with fat and just so chewy!

Yelp
Looking for some traditional Greek food? Messini Authentic Gyros has been a mainstay on the Danforth for decades. I remember coming here late at night after going to bars. The best gyros wrap with choice of pork, chicken, lamb or beef. There are french fries stuffed on the top. Fully loaded with tzatziki, tomatoes and red onions. You can upgrade to Greek fries for $3.50. We ordered the double gyros pita dinner which comes with Greek salad and choice of fries, roasted potatoes or rice. If you're looking for some awesome Greek food and affordable prices, then make the trip to Danforth for some hot Greek eats!
google avatar

Julia M.

Yelp
The chicken gyros and tzatziki are the stars of this show. The size of the plates, even the sides of the dinner platters, could be entire entrees on their own. The Greek fries were a bit difficult to eat as the toppings tended to have a hard time staying on the circular crispy fries. The rice was less than flavourful and definitely needed the hot sauce we added. Going on a Saturday on Mother's Day weekend, we waited less than ten minutes for a table even though it was packed. The staff was accommodating and attentive, checking in regularly and with kindness. The layout of the restaurant allows for optimal use of the space and is cute but nothing special. But still with saying that, every table is cozy and we were lucky enough to have a window seat and people watch on the Danforth. A definite staple in my rotation when visiting Greektown.

Yelp
Grabbed lunch here with friends and ordered the mixed lamb/beef gyro wrap, Greek fries and calamari. The portion of the wrap is HUGE! It was filled with meat, tzatziki, fries and tomatoes. I wish there was a bit more freshness in there as a dressing or lettuce to help cut the fat. The Greek fries also came in a big portion with a pile of coin cut potatoes and melty feta. I think the potatoes would benefit from being tossed in a seasoning first since it was a bit bland. I also wish the fries and wrap were a bit hotter. The calamari is the must order here. The portion is more than fair for the price and was fried fresh, with thick cut tender pieces that were cooked perfectly.

Yelp
I first discovered Messini in late 2019, and have been coming pretty consistently since! The standout for me has been their chicken gyro, which is always packed with flavour.

Yelp
MIXED LAMB/BEEF GYROS PITA $23.50 Lamb/Beef shaved from the spit and served in a wrapped pita topped with onions, tomatoes, tzatziki and french fries Salad was fresh. Fries were okay. The lamb wasn't good, barely noticed it mixed with beef? I don't like the either well done,it seemed over cooked. Tzatziki, yikes. How can this be off IN GREEK town? Disappointed. Back to drawing board for a good Greek spot.

Yelp
My favourite place to grab greek food :) they have lots of seating, great service, and the good is so comforting.

Yelp
Messini Gyros is a great spot in Toronto's Greek Town to get a bite of Greek street food in a casual table service setting. To start, we had the Greek salad, which came with sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, green bell peppers, red onions, and kalamata olives, all topped with a good amount of shredded feta cheese and dried oregano. For the main course, we tried both the beef/lamb gyros and the chicken/pork gyros, which were freshly carved from rotating spits and served with tzatziki, tomatoes, onions, and fries, all wrapped in a super chewy grilled pita bread. The flavors of the dishes were all bold and delicious, and everything came in generous portions and at a great value too!

Yelp
I used to frequent Messini a lot with my family in my high school years which was around 10 years ago. It used to be packed with people, hard to get a seat and absolutely delicious. Now I have to say the quality, at least of the meat, has gone down. We always start with a Greek salad - they give a LOT of feta which I love but I found it overdressed. Then we order either a chicken gyro pita or lamb/beef gyro pita with a side of Greek fries. The greek fries are always a bit. But I found the chicken gyro pita bland, with old tasting meat. I probably wouldn't go back. Lots of other options on the danforth.

Yelp
I came here to meet a friend for a Saturday lunch. It was sort of busy when I came in. There were only two servers working the restaurant, which I think was a mistake on their part as it got busy soon after. When I came in I was asked for my vaccine proof & id contact tracing. I got a table for two. I was promptly given water after I was seated & then I ordered a calamari appetizer since I was quite hungry. My friend arrived & we made our main meal orders. Then the appetizer came. It was quite big for an appetizer! There were at least 13 good sized pieces of calamari with a side salad. If I had known it would've been that big I wouldn't have ordered a main meal. I had ordered the beef & lamb pita too. I ate what I could of the calamari & my friend had some of the salad. By this time my pita had arrived. But they got my order wrong. I had asked for no tzatiki (I'm lactose intolerant). So I had to ask them to make me another one unfortunately. My correct order came & I started eating it. It was delicious. However the slices of meat were really cut big & hard to chew through. The french fries inside the pita were good. This meal though I'd say is meant to be eaten with knife & fork. It's too messy to eat it by hand. The pita is on the bottom & everything else is on the top. They roll the pita a little but since it's not that big you have a big gap in the middle where the food falls out. The place itself it somewhat small. The walls are painted yellow & the furniture is wood. They have booths at the back of the restaurant. Tables for everywhere else. There are two small tables at the front by the windows. The kitchen is at the front where everyone can see the food being prepared. The washrooms are downstairs & they were clean. However the sink has some rust stains. The bathrooms could use a renovation. They were keeping some of the dining space closed I think due to covid. But the lineups at the front soon grew long. With only two servers they were constantly busy. The food was going out of the kitchen quickly & that's good. But they should've had someone at the front of the house checking id, & seating people. Don't make the servers do that if you're short staffed. Poor guys were doing the best they could. The prices here are good for the proportions they give you. I think I would rather come though when they are less busy. The food was good & the service was good too. I would come here again. It might be nice in the summertime if they had an outdoor patio. They do have some sidewalk space in front of the restaurant.

Yelp
Was in the area and looking for a chicken souvlaki in a pita. A quick grab and go. Their ordering process was very easy and efficient. Called through the Yelp app and placed my order. 5 minutes later my sandwich was ready. One of the best on the strip. Love the fries in the pita. Geat job and super friendly. Ate in the car which is never a great idea when there is extra sauce! Yummm

Yelp
cozy spot, salads fyre! greek fries, fyre! the meat, i got pork/beef id say 3/5, service is good, quick. This his may sound ridiculous, the portions are massive! A meal can feed two easy, and i'm a sizable that can put ti away. Not fancy spot. But casual greek bites. I would come back

Yelp
Messini has been in my world for a long, long, time. It's the place that's relevant even after Taste of the Danforth, and that's saying something. I don't really venture to that part of the city very often, I pretty much only go on to Danforth for one reason, and that shit's closed this year. So why Messini? Why do I even care to write a post about a place I admittedly haven't gone to in a long time. It's because it's the workhorse of the food rotation. Like a good pair of shoes. Like your car that's still going and you have no idea how. It's always going to be there when you need it and it does the job you want it to. That's Messini to me. The lamb/beef gyro pita is the backbone of the operation, and will 100% of the time sustain me properly and will be good tasting. Ol' reliable. It's the lamb for me. I don't have lamb on the regular, so it's kind of a treat when I do. Pita filled with meat, onions, tomato, tzatziki, french fries. Pita is soft, tzatziki is sharp, meat is crispy and juicy and real meaty. The fries are forgettable, and only act as filler, but it adds to the mystique. It's not the best thing I've ever had, but it's damn good as a unit and it fills the engine up.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
3.5: Pretty good! $8 for a sit down dinner (the pictured gyro) is pretty good in this neighborhood. The chicken was tender, but the pork was a little gristled, so I think I'd go straight chicken or the lamb one next time. The $10 Greek salad was a little disappointing: pretty big hunks of everything, so it was kind of "do it yourself", and dressed, but not marinated. Pita with tapenade is the complementary bread - not bad. Friendly and attentive service. Clean place, very casual and not fancy. Good family place.

Yelp
Very good Greek place ! I really recommend the Greek fries and to get a meat platter. Very filling.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably my favourite Greek spot in all of Toronto. Don't overcomplicate things and stick to the staples: souvlaki/gyro pita sandwich, Greek fries, Greek salad. The portion sizes are wild, and you're certainly going to get what you pay for. The sandwich is loaded, tasty, and would probably be enough to fill you up on its own, but it would be a waste of a trip if you didn't also try the fries and salad. I'm genuinely curious how much feta cheese they go through in a day, since the fries and salads are laden with it, and it makes everything taste absolutely amazing. Order ahead or go when you have free time, as the place can get seriously busy and you will be waiting for a seat or for your take-out meal. Pro-tip: park on one of the side streets if it's a busy time on the Danforth. Check out @foodpharaoh on Instagram for more food!

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service. Our server could care less about us & did not exchange any pleasantries. Didn't come by to check on us so we had to chase her down. She also forgot to put in something we ordered. Restroom was clean but restaurant wasn't. My cup had food on it! I ordered the lamb/beef gyro which really was out of this world. Some of the best tzatziki I've ever had. I def recommend grabbing a gyro here, but to go only...

Dora T.

Yelp
authentic greek gyro my butt. Has got to be one of the worst gyros I have ever eaten. No seasoning except for one which makes the meat taste disgusting. The restaurant smells bad and I will never be returning.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
This is my first time trying Messini. Heard a lot of reviews back in the day as to how great it is. The portions are big. However, the quality went down according to my bf. The line ups are long still, however I thought the meat had a tangy tastes to it and a bit try. Felt a bit rushed and could not fully enjoy the meal :( since there were so many people lining up and the server was a bit pushy.
google avatar

Vivian T.

Yelp
I love this place!! They are super nice and have good service! The food is so fresh and love the big bowl of salad you get if you order the dinner plate or anything that comes with the salad, seriously the amount of feta is so good! The portions is enough to feed 2, and I love that because I'm always hungry. The side of pita that they bring as an ally comes with this beautiful olive paste and it's too good to pass up the carbs!! The price point is very reasonable considering how much you get and how great it tastes. Got the pork gyro and the meat is not fatty, not dry at all and not salty, delicious smoked flavour! Ah drools!! Overall 8/10 would recommmend
google avatar

Philip C.

Yelp
If you're going to charge $3 for an extra container of Tzatziki, at least ensure the customer receives it with their order... Ordered online for takeout only to find out after I got home the extra Tzatziki was missing! For a restaurant I love going back to, this was really disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Walked in yesterday for a couple of pitas, one pork and one chicken ($14). It looks like a nice place with lots of seating. The gentleman at the cash rung me up, not the most friendliest fellow. He told me 5 minutes. While waiting inside one of the cooks gets my attention and says 15 minutes. I was in a hurry to attend a concert so there was very little time. The cash guy told me they didn't have any pork ready so I told him to make them both chicken and they made them right away. The pitas were a good size but they put French fries in them. I didn't care for that as it makes for a mushy mouthful. However, the seasoned chicken and tzatziki sauce was tasty.

Yelp
Located on Danforth in the heart of Greek town, we decided to visit Messini on a Sunday dinner. There was a bit of lineup when we got in which was surprising as most of the other restaurants in the area weren't as busy. We waited for about 10 mins for a seat of 2, and as we were waiting, there were more people lining up. The menu offers a selection of items from just individual skewers (which comes with Pita), entrees which comes with salad and a choice of potatoes/fries and much more. Our main food took around 10-15 mins to come as the nest does take some time to cook thoroughly. We ordered: - Pork Soulvaki stick main entree ($12.45 for one stick and $14.35 for a second one): Wow, I was amazed at the size of the salad/potatoes. The portions were the size of main dishes, and they were just side dishes that came with the pork soulvaki. The pork was very flavorful as I could taste the spices they use, however my only complaint was that it was slightly too dry. - Chicken soulvaki stick: single skewer ($3.75): For just a single skewer order, the portion was very big as it came with pitas. The chicken itself was very flavorful and also super juicy; very satisfied! Overall, the food was very satisfying and honestly, for the price, you get a lot of food. We paid around $20 something in the end and were very full. No wonder this restaurant is also busy; the lineup got even longer when we left.

Art F.

Yelp
Yeah, it's saying you're opening a 1130. Then at least open at 11:30. Not sometime after 11:30.Food is good but, open on time.

Yelp
My favourite Greek spot in the GTA! If you think Mr. Greek is authentic, you clearly haven't been here. Messini's is my favourite because it's cheap, filling, and delicious. Start your meal off with complimentary pita and order the Greek Fries if you like feta - they don't skimp on cheese here. Then, get one of their gyro pitas, or if you're really hungry, order a gyro plate. The plate is enough for two people and you can get it with roasted potatoes which are tender and slightly sour, just the way I like it. Just beware that the service here isn't the best. You'll be greeted with a blank stare and the servers take what I call a transactional approach. They'll ask how many people are in your party and seat you, and they'll ask you what you want to order and bring it, but that's about it. The food makes up for it, though.
google avatar

Cheryl K.

Yelp
This place is one of the best in Greektown. Gyro, souvlaki are very good. The restaurant is average size with some booths, small tables and a bar area. The kitchen is in the front of the restaurant which makes the anticipation greater! I went on a Saturday night around 9pm and there was a lineup out the door. The good thing is that the lineup moved pretty quickly as the service is quick. The food came out quickly as well and patrons didn't really loiter. I'm not sure if this is normal or perhaps people were sensible of the people waiting in line. The souvlaki or Gyro In a pita comes wrapped up with French fries inside. The Greek fries were put in the oven to melt the feta on top. Next time, I'm going try the poutine as the Greek fries didn't have any dressing on it.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for good service and will become irritated easily if you don't, you may not enjoy your experience. Otherwise, if you're satisfied with the fact that as long as the food gets delivered and they come over when you flag someone down, then you should be ok. Take the TTC, get off at Chester, and it's a minute-walk over. Food is good and affordable. Get a gyros for under $6 and it comes with a lot of fresh meat off the spit and soft fries! I typically come here just for it. Another item that I like is the gyros pizza, which is a personal sized pizza with cheese, vegetables, and meat. It's not greasy at all, which provides a pleasant tasting experience since I'm not a fan of greasy pizza. Sometimes they'll try to bring all the food at the same time, so if you order the pizza for example you will end up waiting a bit longer than others that get gyros or rice dishes. One of those places that's safe to organize a lunch or dinner at, though it can get busy.
google avatar

Tatiana W.

Yelp
MESSINI'S gyros is not only good but is also NOT overpriced! I was expecting to pay probably around $13 but it was only $7 !!!! For a BIG Gyros!!! You have the option of protein of course which may differ the price. I got a chicken gyros and tbh.......IT WAS SO GOOD !!! Good + cheap = HAPPINESS. if you ever walk along Danforth give Messini's gyros a try, you won't regret it.
google avatar

Jared R.

Yelp
Still good gyros, salads and fries. They have added a new addition so service and seating is faster and better. Recommended if you need a gyro carb fix. One platter with two appetizers easily feeds two people.

Yelp
Fantastic food ! Alexia gave great service too .. see the pics best Greek food .. the salad is a must is a meal just by it self

Yelp
My family have been going to this restaurant for 15 years. It's always been great, but unfortunately not anymore. I'm 99% sure it has new owners. Food is subpar, the lighting is terrible and the staff are not trained properly. Absolute disappointment.

Yelp
Owned by Lionel Messini of Barcelona and Argentina. This place deserves Zero Stars! Nah, nah, I'm not serious, I'm just Messini around. It's actually one of the best Gyros in Canada, and everyone should give it a try. Woefully underrated place. What to get: Beef-and-lamb Gyro (Chicago Style) or authentic Pork Gyro. Better yet, get both. What else: Come during the Danforth St Festival if you want to wait in line outside for your Gyro for about 47 minutes (minimum). I'm a mega fan of Gyros and a big connoisseur of them, right down to the point that I can actually spell the word connoisseur. Sometimes. Messini deserves much higher ratings than it has. OK the service is hit or miss, but come on. I'm not sure if it's pricey to eat in, or if people hate the wait times during the festival, but let's see: (1) They have both Chicago style and authentic Athens pork-style Gyros (2) Both are piping hot and juicy and fresh (3) The pitas and sauces taste great (4) Both types of Gyro meat are amaaaaaaaaaaaazing (5) By Toronto standards, both Gyros are fairly affordable I'm not sure how Messini can score less than a 5 if you come for the Gyro. Easily the best I've had in Canada and one of the best Gyros (of both kinds) in North America. The highlight of Danforth St (along with the amazing Creme Brulee donuts at Von and the insanely perfect Loukamades at Athens Pastries, both of which must be tried to be believed). Anyone who is in Toronto and likes Gyros simply must try both kinds from Messini. They're pretty juicy so be careful not to make a Messini of yourself. I think I'll go there tonight. I'm wearing fishnet though, so I feel a bit Mesh-ini. I'm also a little manic today, so I first need to take my Meds-ini. I remind myself of a painting in the MET-ini. If they're closed, then we can go for Tex Mex-ini. Over a bowl of nachos, I'll tell you that you're the sexiest person I've ever Met-ini. It'll make you Melt-ini. Then we'll skip the bedroom activities and go watch the Bluejays beat the Mets-ini because WHAT WOMAN DOESN'T LOVE BASEBALL. Nah I'm not a baseball fan I was just Messini around again.

Yelp
So I have heard of this place for years but only got around to finally trying it once COVID hit Toronto so there's no dining in review. The Good: We always order the mixed lamb/beef gyros and the variations thereof (gyro meat plates, dinner plates etc). And boy are they delicious! A beautiful medley of meat, tzatziki, tomatoes and fries... yes i said fries. Sounds a little weird, but it completely works! The meat is juicy and succulent, a little smoky from the grill and not smothered in salt. The green salad is fantastic, no lettuce to be seen! Fresh onion, tomato, green peppers, olives and feta, very light on the dressing. Beautiful! The takeout service is excellent. The staff and manager are polite and friendly. My wife has some food allergies, they never give me any issues with requests to omit or separate certain items, which is greatly appreciated here. Messini has ruined me for all other Greek food places! The Bad: Based on my experiences, the only bad thing that I have is not a fault of Messini, the parking on Danforth has always been problematic, but with the installation of the bike lanes along Danforth, the city has eliminated a ton of available parking. So, if you can find a spot be ready to walk. The Ugly: Again, not the restaurant's fault, more of a criticism of the City. They seem to be hell bent on affecting the success of the businesses along the Danforth. Bike lanes in favour of parking spaces is ridiculous. Removing an entire lane of traffic for the bike lanes? It will reduce the amount of foot traffic as drivers will be more likely to avoid driving along Danforth. Ok, back to Messini, a wonderful experience and i highly recommend it to anyone! Hopefully once they can reopen to indoor dining i can finally try their dining area!

Yelp
This is probably my favourite Greek restaurant in Toronto. It's in Greek Town of course - on the Danforth. This restaurant has been popular and highly rated since I last came here as a teen. From this time around they have reeled in more customers and is in high demand in the evenings! No reservations on some days (if I remember correctly), so you will have to walk in and wait. However, the line moves relatively fast if you're under a group of 5. Service was great! All staff that assisted us were kind and had a smile on their face. As for the food, authentic Greek food (in comparaison to what I've had in the past). And the best value for your dollar!! In other words you get lots of food with your order. Loved everything about this place! Can't wait to come back

Yelp
Terrible !!!...service Terrible...food Terrible!!! Friends B Day dinner with ten of us. Chicken souvlaki dinner...Terrible! Tough and overcooked...shoe sole anyone!? Pork souvlaki the same...the busboy served our food and had no idea what he was doing. Our waitress far to busy to check on us. Dinner was served on appetizer plates piled on like a mountain...no dinner plates? Asked to see the manager...nope no manager!? never again!!!

Yelp
This place is overrated potatoes meat and rice were not too good I feel like telling them don't be afraid to put salt in the food. If you want mediocre Greek food this is the place for you.

Yelp
We were super excited to try their food - especially given the reviews including BlogTO - what a disappointment. We got takeout and they forgot to provide rice and salad for the Plate order. I tried calling and no answer. The beef/lamb gyros lacked seasoning, super chewy and was no where comparable to Greek&Co or by far my favourite Yianni's in St Lawrence market The chicken gyros meat and the Greek salad were lovely but that's all Sorry Messini- wish you all the best but we will not be back - your broke our trust by short changing our takeout order and the food was just ok

Yelp
My husband and I stumbled upon this place because we really wanted some Greek food and the reviews were pretty great. The food was good although I felt like the meet was quite a bit fatty. My husband is not a huge fan of lamb so we decided to share the lamb and beef gyro and the chicken one. My husband ended up eating majority of the chicken and I got stuck with the lamb which was really lamby and grainy. Maybe if you really enjoy eating lamb you would have loved it. The portions were huge and the price was great and overall the quality was decent as well. I wish they had a beef only option and I wish the meet was a bit less fatty. We might be back to give this place another shot.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to go on the Danforth to have some Greek food and decided to come here after hearing and reading all the rave reviews. I started off with the grilled calamari and I can honestly say it was some of the best I've ever eaten. It was grilled perfectly and with the tzatziki sauce and lemon, it was amazing. I also ordered the chicken gyro, which after reading all the reviews was a tiny bit disappointing. It was still pretty good but I was expecting it to be one of the best gyros I've had - and it didn't really meet expectations. It was a little bit dry, and the chicken didn't have as much flavour as I thought it would. Maybe it was just because I was so blown away by the calamari, anything I ate after wouldn't have compared. Next time I'm back I will definitely try the lamb/beef gyro. The service was great even though it was very busy. I was seated as soon as I got there and my order was taken within a few minutes. The food arrived less than ten minutes later. This would've been a 5-star review if not for the slightly underwhelming chicken gyro, but I would definitely go out of my way to come back just for the calamari.

Yelp
Ordered for pickup gyro without French fries. When I arrived confirmed no fries. When order arrived again stated no fries. Gyros we're polluted with fries. There site says that they manually inspect orders for correctness; clearly not. As well, the bags are soaked with grease, not something I expect. Needless to say with so many other, better, choices we won't be back.

Yelp
This place is one of my favorite places on The Danforth. Keep in mind to come a little early because there is always a line up for both dinning area and take out, but it is worth the wait. Make sure to order the Greek fries which are flat fries topped with feta cheese and Greek dressing. Their food are always fresh and you can't go wrong with anything you choose to order. My husband and I ordered the must have Famous chicken souvlaki which is served with fries inside the souvlaki yummmmm. We also got the meat platter with a side of fries. You can choose different meats for the meat platter, we chose chicken. They also have pork and lamb. Their Greek salad is also very good. Can't wait to go back soon

Yelp
I was very excited to go to Messini. I was not impressed at all. The lunch service at 2:30pm on a weekday was slow. We ordered drinks with no ice and all five drinks were delivered with ice. I ordered chicken souvlaki with rice, I found the chicken overcooked and dry. The quality of the chicken was poor. It was leathery inside. Of the 5 pieces on the skewer, one was absolutely inedible. I was very disappointed with the food as I had brought guests from out of town and I'd been telling them about this great Greek food place on the Danforth. Honestly, I've had better Greek food in a food court at the mall.
