Right off the 101 Freeway in a strip mall. Love their adobo fries & desserts especially the ube crinkles!

Took my family of 6 (4 kids & Wife) to this place for the first time and we had a wonderful experience. Being Filipino there isn't much for Filipino cuisine in Ventura county. Mestiza Kitchen isn't the typical traditional Filipino restaurant, but what they offer is a fusion of traditional & creative dishes. All the flavors of traditional Filipino food was there and everything we ate was delicious. The restaurant is owned & operated by the Family and we were happy to support local business. If you're looking for something unique with flavors from the Philippines this place will satisfy all your cravings & appetite.

Awesome hole in the wall restaurant. Food is excellent. Menu changes so does their pastries so call in or check their website. They have bakery with desserts, its delicious too. The flan and other cakes are good. If you like cakes that are dense then buy some. Cakes are good with flavor 😋👌 just a bit dense for me. Oh the Ube (taro) hochata and calamansi juice are bomb. See pics.

You’re looking at what my husband describes as ‘the best piece of cake he’s ever had in his life’. We’ve been to mestiza quite a few times and it is consistently phenomenal. All of their desserts are literal perfection.. the ube crinkle cookies, the pandan tres leches cake.. also do yourself a favor and get yourself an ube horchata. I could literally eat like 100 of their lumpias. Drop what you are doing and go here now! You will not be disappointed!

This place is a hidden gem! I loved the authenticity of the Filipino dishes and desserts. This place is a must have, if your in the area. The owner's are very friendly.

Another great place to get Filipino food in Ventura. It is run by a husband and wife along with their family, who early take pride in ensuring the food is up to standards that is Filipino cuisine. They are also very nice, they talked to me for awhile while I waited for my order to be done. Ample selection from lumpia to pancit, which is called Imperial Noodles as a nod to not just the cultural heritage but also to the owner’s family. Selection for desserts is amazing as well - the ube cake was moist and just right.

In short, the food is great if you like Filipino food with a twist. I recommend getting the fusion dishes and not the typical Filipino food. The service is very positive (it's a family business). I went with my parents (both Filipino) for the first time. I ordered the adobo fries, my mom got the adobo bowl, and my dad got the MK combo. I was worried the adobo fries (carne asada fries but with chicken adobo instead) wouldn't work taste-wise but I was wrong. The adobo fries were delicious. My mom said her adobo bowl was okay and my dad said the food was good but not authentic Filipino. For dessert, we got the putoflan, ube cupcake, and a whole fruit pizza. The putoflan was very good, the ube cupcake was good, and the fruit pizza (with a cookie base) was very sweet (I liked it).

There is a plethora of Filipino inspired desserts here. Ube everything! I got the ube banana pudding, ube flan, and the cassava cake. For the savory part, I got the special of the day which was a pork belly sigsig bowl (the bf said it was amazing), Bicol express(I thought it was a little salty), lumpia, and sticky wings. Price is a little high ($10 for the bowls, $8 for 6 wings, $5 for 4 pieces of lumpia) but they kind of have to jack up the prices bc they're only open fri-sun. I'll be back to try the adobo fries and pandan tres leches cake!!

This is a great family-owned local filipino restaurant. We stopped by for the first time a couple of weeks ago and split a combo plate and a slice of ube cake. The combo plate had 2 sliders, 2 chicken skewers, noodles, and 4 lumpias (filipino egg rolls). Plenty of food for the 2 of us. The ube cake was amazing! Not too sweet, but clear ube flavor and super moist. Overall I strongly recommend checking this place out.
