Do NOT stay at this hotel, pay the extra 30 bucks or so to stay at a better place. We were legitimately scared for our safety & were offered no compensation or anything.
To start off, the hotel barely appears to be in working order and felt like living through an American Horror Story season. One of the lifts is out of order (and looking at previous reviews, has been so for well over a year) and the other feels like it’s barely holding on by a thread. The parking lot is incredibly tiny offering spaces for about 19 cars when the hotel has many more occupants than that, it’s also very cramped and difficult to navigate. When we checked out, there was a car blocking us from leaving. The swipe card to the parking lot was also broken and there was a buzzer to be let in, but the staff clearly didn’t care about this and we along with the other patrons had to go inside or call to be let in to the parking lot. Why have the buzzer there if you don’t intend on using it?
We returned to the hotel past closing hours and the keycard swipe to be let in was also broken. We assumed we’d have to be buzzed in but the door just opened for us automatically, which is very dangerous letting random people into the hotel overnight.
For the worst and most dangerous part, we had a crackhead in the room next to us and were woken up at 5am to him screaming. He had his head out the window (which, by the way, open all the way and don’t lock) and was yelling and shooting snot rockets down at people on the street. He then proceeded to wander the halls of the hotel yelling, crying, rambling and banging on things and passed our room several times. When we called downstairs, they said the police was on their way.
The man was supposedly arrested but we were woken again at 9am to him back on our hotel floor causing the same ruckus. We did not get any sleep and were terrified for our safety. How was this man who was literally escorted off the premises by police allowed back into the hotel at all? The staff were extremely uncaring and offered no support towards us. All of our questions were answered very vaguely and in ways that didn’t make sense, they were very rude.
In short, do not stay here or give this hotel your money. The doritos out of the vending machine were fire though.
There’s also a fun little surprise of an extra charge of 50 dollars you have to pay upon arrival which we weren’t privy to, and we’re unsure if we’ll be getting that back because the staff were so awful at explaining things. When we asked the front desk while checking out if we could get any compensation or file a complaint against the hotel for not taking proper precautions to protect the guests, she just shrugged and said no.
