Metropol am Dom - Café & Restaurant

We celebrated our wedding brunch in 2002 and, just now we decided to visit it back, still amazing service, nice terrace and mega yummy food! Nice job guys!!! Love it !! 🙂🙃👌🏾

We arrived here after an overnight flight from the states and they were PACKED. They were very up front that they could not serve us right away, but would be happy to seat us. We were thrilled. The food that was ordered was fresh and delicious - such an amazing little spot!

WoW, had the most cracking lunch here today with the Family, fantastically cosy very popular i think because it has great service and the food is absolutely sensational.. we went in starving came out totally satisfied, the coffee were huge and very good as well. I cant recommend this wonderful cafe/restaurant enough... fantastic...

Thats what my expected coffee size for morning. And omlett is perfect too.

Comfortable and welcoming coffee shop next to the cathedral. We didn’t try the cake (although we were tempted) but the coffee was very good. They also serve cold drinks and alcohol. Nice atmosphere and decor.

Highly recommend for a fantastic breakfast experience! We had "Morning Rendezvouz", a delightful variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious. What truly set this place apart was the staff. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in!

Absolutely delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented breakfast! Delicious home lemonade, perfect matcha latte, coffees... Definitely a great place to come for brrakfast. Staff is also super friendly and kind. And atmosphere is lovely.

Food and service were really good. I highly recommend eating here if you wanna have a good breakfast.

We were walking back to our hotel our first day in Germany and just peeked our noses into this place when a smiling young lady (slender, hair in a pony, wearing loose-fitti g jeans and a silver charm/necklace her mother gave her) smiled at us and encouraged us to come and sit on the patio. We did, she waited on us (after thoughtfully and intuitively bringing us English menus - a rarity, so far, on our very enjoyable trip) and almost a week into our time here this is still the most enjoyable service experience we've had, among several. I only regret we didn't get her name, but I'm hopeful the owner / manager sees this review and shares our appreciation with this lovely young person. She clearly has the interpersonal skills one cannot teach. Dinner was good, as well, and we can recommend the polenta with salmon or chicken (we each ordered it). Wine was good, beer was cold, but the interaction with a young person who "gets it" made our evening.

The food was great. The service was horrible. As an English speaker and traveler, the staff were very, INCREDIBLY, rude to me. Specifically a woman with long hair. I have been done eating for over 30 minutes and when I asked for the check, she looked back at me loudly said "one second" and then she shook her head like she was annoyed. Very disappointed in the staff to be quite honest. The vibe and ambiance is nice other than that.

My only complaint was I wish it was not raining outside as the patio looked beautiful. The food was delicious. I had the vegetable lasagne served with a salad. The salad was topped with corn, cabbage, tomato, arugula and jicama. The dressing was light and somewhat fruity. It complimented the salad very well. My partner had the beef dish which was tender and well sauced. The potato mash was outstanding. The restaurant was busy and well staffed. Both ladies who waited on us spoke a good deal of English.

This was one of the first cafes that I visited when I arrived in Europe, but for some reason didn't get around to writing about it until now. Maybe because the place really didn't stand out all the much, though it probably has a lot more to do with me not understanding European culture than anything else. Actually, come to think of it, the service was actually quite slow and I have to actually go and get a waiter to come and serve us, even though I'm not actually all that used to table service. The cafe itself is actually quite nice with a lovely outdoor area, and the coffee wasn't all that bad either, it is just that the service was pretty slow.

This was wonderful! It has decent Yelp reviews and was also included in a Lonely Planet Tour Book as a hot spot to eat. I'm so happy we happened upon it because our server (from Portugal, that was fun to find out, as we loved Portugal) was incredibly helpful. Not only did he bring us English Menus, but he took the time to translate the daily specials for us. My party went ahead and ended up ordering those and we're so happy we did! The food was wonderful and fresh, and we sat out on the beautiful patio and soaked up the sun. It was such a good experience!

My first local German xperience, tried the Frankfurter and the Snitchzel.... forgive my spelling. It was really good and loved the beers. An ok place.

Good + Weird = Character. Not Bad +Weird = Flaws.

Nice cafe to brunch on the weekend. Portions are big and many things are fresh made. Beverage prices are not to high. E.g. for a simple tea. Reservation is recommended!

Great homemade cakes, large sprawling place, not pretentious or trendy, mixed crowd, gets too busy, sometimes quite a wait for service, but it can't be beaten for a downtown meeting place café that is slightly out of the main drag.

its not a problem if a reseaurant is filled up with people but the waitresses should be handling this and not show customers how stressed they are. oh btw, its not worth it asking a customer if they want a doft or hard cook egg if the egg is not even cooked well
