7 places to party in Perth when night falls - SilverKris

"One of Western Australia’s largest nightclubs, located in Fremantle about a 30-minute drive from the city centre, offers a full-sensory party experience with DJs spinning high-energy party bangers from dusk to dawn and theatrical live elements such as horns, flamethrowers and dancers to elevate the sets; it’s a popular late-night option for visitors spending the day in Fremantle." - Victoria Khroundina

Metropolis Fremantle is a great place to vibe. The dance floor is amazing, the bar service is good, and the overall energy is fantastic. The only downside is that there’s no food available. Apart from that, everything else is really good—what a vibe! 💃✨

Google
Bloody brilliant venue for a gig - layout is perfect and so is the sound quality. Bars with plenty of staff and great service and clean toilets too - what more do you want.

Great little venue to see bands and very intimate as can get so close to the stage. Saw Travis there recently and it was an amazing gig.

What a fantastic venue. Great place to see a live performance. The audio was on point and the lighting was bang on. Not too long to wait for a drink either. Will revisit again.

Awesome gigs. Great for all sorts of bands. Plenty of bars, you can see the stage from almost anywhere, it's perfect \m/

Saw hevenshe & the used here Wednesday 3rd The band was great & the sound was beautiful but.... The venue hasn't improved over the years, rude barstaff whi looked like they'd rather be anywhere else... $16 for a jacks'n'coke in a paper cup...everthing comes in a paper cup. Reminds me of some pleasant birthday parties I attended when I was 5. Filthy toilets where you are walking on pissy floors...its pretty disgusting 🫣 Get your act together !!

Its metros. Only gets good between 12-2. Pay to get in for subpar dj sets who can't mix and blend half decent.

Yelp
Metropolis Fremantle is usually a nightclub of average repute - being seen there won't permanently damage your social standing, but may result in some relentless teasing. As a live show venue, Metro is not a bad place. There are two floors, and a decent-sized stage that can fit large bands. The Metro in Freo is smaller than the one found in Northbridge, but it can still comfortably hold a good crowd. The acoustics are good - loud enough to be satisfying but not so loud that you actively question whether your hearing has been permanently damaged. Metros is a good place for live bands, although it is - unfortunately - not utilised often in that capacity.

Yelp
There are two contributing factors that will dictate how much you enjoy Metros Freo. How old are you and how drunk are you. I remember when i was a juvie (18/19) and there was a stretch of a few months where if my I had been reported missing during the week, police could save their resources and focus the search on Metro's on a Saturday night. That's how certain it was I'd be there. The crowd is young, the mainstream tunes are loud and i was really, really pissed. And so was everyone else. From what i can remember it was awesome. As a 27 year old there are few places i would rather go less than Metros Freo. The dance floor is big, and always packed, the same dumb DJ plays the same tunes as 8/9 years ago, only interrupting with a "happy 18th (insert name)! This ones for you!" shout out every 20 minutes. If i were tragically stuck there i would likely be upstairs at the live band stage singing along to John Farnham covers. One positive of Metros is that its a great venue for gigs with the stage in front of the d-floor and the seating on the second level wrapping around for good viewing. So basically what I'm saying is if you are young drunk and don't know any better, go for it, but if there's no gig, steer clear.

Yelp
Perth is a funny place to put on gigs; one of the reasons so many bands have skipped our city in the past is a lack of venues. While we have decent large clubs like Metro's Perth and sizable pub venues like The Rosemount, there's a big gap in between. The kind of big but not overambitious rooms that more-than-usually popular underground bands can play. In Perth, it really comes down to Metro's Fremantle for these kinds of gigs and it suits them well. Bands can bring in a decent amount of production, the PA is pretty good (though the room has a few sound issues) and any performance here feels very intimate. My favourite sets here have been by Jarvis Cocker, Beasts Of Bourbon, Wilco and The Fauves; four very different acts that all benefited from the style of live room this venue is. Gigs here tend to be a touch more expensive than elsewhere, but it's such a good room that it justifies the additional cost. On weekends, this place opens up into a five chamber superclub that is always in great demand with local punters, so must satisfy them on some level. I'm not really into the commercial club scene, but of your options in Fremantle, this is definitely a step above the Clink. If you're going come here, I suggest doing what many seem to do and heading to the East End Exchange for drinks first; the two joints have very different music policies and vibes, and East End is a great place to warm up for a bigger night somewhere else.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised the last time I ended up here for a friend's birthday. When I had just turned 18 I spent more time at Metro's than I care to admit - and I can remember 3 things about it - the line was long, the girls checking ID were always less than friendly and looked like they would rather be anywhere than where they were, and it was CROWDED. There used to hardly be room to move on a Saturday night without another not-so-sober patron spilling their drink all over you and hardly any room to breathe least of all dance on the dance floor. The Front of House staff were still less than interested in their job, but for whatever reason on my last visit we only waited a few minutes to get in, there was room to move inside and they had even sectioned off the upstairs bar/balcony that overlooked the downstairs dance floor. It was either a quiet night or people have just stopped coming en masse, and to be perfectly honest - it made it so much more enjoyable. They have also added some decent air conditioning which was great. I spent most of my time upstairs, dancing the night away to the 80's/90's mix the DJ was playing, I did enjoy the $10 cocktails from C2, although a little disappointed that the bartender told me he couldn't make any milk cocktails as he didn't have any. He did however upon my request make me a cocktail of his own invention that tasted exactly like a chocolate drink - he was fantastic! I actually had a good night, the downside for me is that there isn't a lot going on in freo after 22:00, so if you find you get bored of one place, your choices are very limited - and food options are a kebab or Hungry Jack's.
