Nice park in Panama City. They had a few monkeys and slots but they were high up in the trees—- was still exciting to see them in their natural state.. we got soaked though so have a pancho because it rains a lot and wear water boots or sneakers .: you will be doing a lot of walking about 2 hours or more… but it’s really worth it..

The Metropolitan Natural Park has several hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty, hosting a variety of local flora and fauna. The staff at the visitors center are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and will even walk you to the start of the trail. The entry fee was incredibly reasonable. The moderate trails are steep, but definitely doable. There are stops along the trails to rest and use the restroom. Be sure to bring plenty of water as this area is very humid. On our hike we saw deer, turtles, coati, and birds. The view at the highest point of the hike is breathtaking.

Nice to have this place in the middle of the city. Easy walking trails, we saw plenty of wildlife. Staff at the entrance were lovely.

A hike easy enough for the whole family. Various routes that take about 1 - 2hrs to navigate observantly. Steepest part is the final 10mins to get above the canopy where the reward is the view. Can get hot and humid so bring water.

Metropolitan Natural Park was such a great stop! It’s only $5 to enter, and there are about 5 miles of trails to explore. We did the hike to the scenic overlook — about 3 miles round trip — and it was very family-friendly. It’s uphill, but not too steep or difficult. The views at the top are amazing, with a full panorama of Panama City and the sea dotted with ships waiting to enter the canal. We even saw some monkeys along the way! Highly recommend if you’re looking for an easy nature escape right near the city.

We arrived late - about 1/2 hour before official closing, but were told that we could go on one of the shorter trails if we were back by 5. Lovely walk, hot! But nice observation area at top of trail, and we saw an agouti(?) some turtles, butterflies, spiders, a small scorpion, and lots of cool flora. Go.

Beautiful park in the city. You don't have to travel far to experience the Panamanian Jungle. Great for hiking.
