Great food, excellent service. The outside tables that they set up on the street in the evening can't be booked, but if you show up early enough, you can grab a table and enjoy the ambiance. It had filled up completely by 7, and some tables were empty again at 7:30. They actually took a table form inside it set it up outside for a group of 6! Absolutely the friendliest service from any Swiss restaurant I've ever been to.

MUST GO! This is legitimately the best food I’ve ever eaten. Their white wine soup was so flavorful! The salmon, vegetables, and pasta was delicious. If you only have time for one meal in Bern you have to go here!

Disappointing. Food was bland, void of taste and flavor. In stark discrepancy with the prices, strenuously justifiable by the location. We had the coq and entrecote, and both were forgettable.

Really great place. Cozy and quiet, I would suggest to try the beef fillet, but also very good dessert too.

My recent visit to Metzgerstübli was truly outstanding. The warm ambiance, attentive staff, and delectable cuisine made it a memorable evening. Great place. The very young and new owner did an amazing job. We took the 'menue surprise' and were not disappointed! The pairing of the wine and food was excellent, portions were of perfect size and service was exquisite the entire time despite all tables being busy. Can highly recommend.

Great service: pleasant, prompt & attentive throughout the meal, great food, nice atmosphere, almost fully booked and packed with locals. What more need I say? I would definitely come back if in town.Really enjoyed the restaurant and the food was delicious. The menu is all in German, but our waitress was extremely helpful in making our selections. We just ordered a main as the portions are big but got bread with a lovely olive and sun dried tomato tapenade while waiting and a gorgeous house-made Madeleine which was delicious. Best non-cheese based meal and spatzli I've had this trip to Switzerland! Highly recommend

I contacted this restaurant several times in both English and German to make a reservation and received no response.

I can understand why this restaurant is rated so highly. We were just in town for one day and wanted a nice meal. We got lucky that we stumbled on this place. The salad I had was solid but the tenderness and taste of the beef filet was amazing Dinner * Market salad (Good) * Beef filet (Excellent) * Tagliatelle pesto (Excellent)

Really small and causy place. average expensive. The food and wine are really good. They serve some "provencal" french food.
