The place I visited as of August 2025 is a disappointment if there is no change. When I visited about 10 years ago, there were many more artifacts, places, rooms belonging to the Mevlevihan, but now it is a place that can be visited in just 2 minutes. It is possible to enter with a museum card, but if you don't have one, I don't think it's worth the money. I had to go back before leaving to ask if I couldn't find it. According to the security guard, there was a restoration. I'll have to go back after a while to take a look. It was sad to see the Mevlevihane like this.

We didn't know the museum before, we found it on our way to Galata tower, and decided to discover it. (The Ticket was 50 Tl, 2.5 USD approximately) I liked it, it shows information on the history, the culture, music, and traditions of the Mawlawi. It wasn't our lucky day, so we didn't watch whirling Dervish ceremony although it was interesting to know the place and what it contains.

Great place that gives an insight to Mawlawi history and Rumi's way of life. Easy to get to from Taksim and a stroll down the hill will get you to Galata tower.

I went hoping to buy tickets to see the performance but the guy in the information booth said it isnt happening until next month (october). Found another location per Mevlevi Monastery website. The museum was cool but some of the english info cards need to be rewritten as some are difficult to understand what is being conveyed. There is a beautiful section on the top floor on a painting technique called "paper marbling", a technique that produces images similar to stone marble patterns. Also featured are musical instruments the Mevlevi use for their rituals. Definitely worth a visit.

Worth going if you’re interested in Muslim & Sufism history. Quiet & lovely courtyard (which is free to enter), interesting interiors that look like 18th century.
