We booked our room at Hotel Mewar Haveli after seeing beautiful pictures online, especially of the lake view rooms with a separate sitting area. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t match the expectations at all. The first room we were given was extremely small, congested, and uncomfortable—especially since we were traveling with a baby. The bathroom was directly in front of the bed, and there was barely any space to move around. We requested a room change, and although the second room was slightly bigger, it had no lake view and didn’t even have a telephone for basic communication. The lift was manual and the doors were extremely tight. Both of us are physically challenged, and we were traveling with our 5-month-old baby. Due to the cramped space, using a stroller was impossible, so we had to carry the baby around, which was very inconvenient. We were also disappointed that we couldn’t access the rooftop as there was no lift to reach it. We missed out on the much-talked-about rooftop vibe and live music. Another big issue was parking—there is no parking at the hotel itself. We had to park far away and then take an auto to the hotel at our own cost. It would’ve been helpful if the hotel had its own pickup service. On the positive side, the food was good and reasonably priced, and the staff was polite and cooperative. However, these few positives couldn’t make up for the discomfort we experienced. We had booked a 2-day stay but ended up leaving the very next day due to all the inconvenience. Final thoughts: Not wheelchair-friendly. Not stroller-friendly. No proper balcony or lake view as shown in photos. Would not recommend for families with babies or people with physical challenges.

Beautiful Property with a Great View, but Rooms Feel Cramped The hotel offers a fantastic lakeside view and a beautiful property overall. The staff is friendly and helpful, and most sightseeing spots are conveniently nearby. However, the rooms originally designed for two occupants have been converted to accommodate three or even four people, making them feel extremely cramped. With just 2-3 luggage bags, there’s barely any space to move around. The hotel food is average, but thankfully, there are plenty of alternative dining options nearby. Overall, a great location and view, but the room space could be better utilized.

The property is located at a very strategic and convenient spot, with a decent lake view that adds to the charm. However, our experience was mixed due to two key issues: Room Size: The room we were allotted was extremely compact—just enough space to fit the bed. There were no cupboards or storage areas, which made it inconvenient even for a short stay. While it might work for 1-2 nights, it’s definitely not suited for longer stays. Service: Most of the staff was polite and helpful throughout our stay. However, our overall experience was significantly marred by one individual—Harish, who was at the reception. His behavior was unprofessional and outright rude. He consistently refused to listen, spoke in an unacceptable tone (especially towards women), and gave off a deeply uncomfortable and misogynistic attitude. If it weren't for this unpleasant interaction, this stay would have easily been a 4-star experience. Harish's conduct alone brought it down several notches.

A safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment, offering guests a break from their usual routines and a chance to relax and recharge. Hotels can be seen as a place to experience luxury and pampering, with attentive service and amenities. The opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories is also a positive aspect of a hotel.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Mewar Haveli! From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless and welcoming. The location itself is top-notch — nestled right near the lake, it offers stunning views and easy access to major attractions in Udaipur. A special shout-out to Harish, who truly went above and beyond to take care of us throughout our stay. His warmth, attentiveness, and willingness to help with anything we needed made our experience even more memorable. Whatever we asked for, Harish made sure it was arranged without delay. One of the highlights of our stay was the authentic Rajasthani Dal Baati Choorma, which was specially prepared on our request. It was absolutely delicious — rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. It felt like a true taste of Rajasthan made with love. The rooms were clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained, reflecting the traditional charm of the haveli. The overall ambiance of the property is serene and culturally rich — perfect for both relaxation and exploration. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Udaipur. Mewar Haveli delivers not just a stay, but a memorable experience.

This property has Lakeview facing rooms and the full lake pichola view from their rooftop restaurant is awesome. Food is great, only veg and little towards pricey. Staff behaviour is very friendly. Service is top notch. All the tourist places are very nearby from this hotel. We had a very comfortable stay.

Highly recommend this hotel. Great location in the old city. Sensational view of lake from restaurant and rooftop - exactly like photos on Booking.com. Room was clean, water was hot and plentiful and even though we opted for a street/ no view option we still had a view of the lake from our window. Food in restaurant was tasty and the included breakfast was very generous. The staff were incredibly helpful and could not do enough, making calls on our behalf and making sure we left from the correct bus departure point. They even allowed a late check out on the day of our departure when I was feeling under the weather. Thanks Mewar Haveli!!
