We booked our room at Hotel Mewar Haveli after seeing beautiful pictures online, especially of the lake view rooms with a separate sitting area. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t match the expectations at all.
The first room we were given was extremely small, congested, and uncomfortable—especially since we were traveling with a baby. The bathroom was directly in front of the bed, and there was barely any space to move around. We requested a room change, and although the second room was slightly bigger, it had no lake view and didn’t even have a telephone for basic communication.
The lift was manual and the doors were extremely tight. Both of us are physically challenged, and we were traveling with our 5-month-old baby. Due to the cramped space, using a stroller was impossible, so we had to carry the baby around, which was very inconvenient.
We were also disappointed that we couldn’t access the rooftop as there was no lift to reach it. We missed out on the much-talked-about rooftop vibe and live music.
Another big issue was parking—there is no parking at the hotel itself. We had to park far away and then take an auto to the hotel at our own cost. It would’ve been helpful if the hotel had its own pickup service.
On the positive side, the food was good and reasonably priced, and the staff was polite and cooperative. However, these few positives couldn’t make up for the discomfort we experienced.
We had booked a 2-day stay but ended up leaving the very next day due to all the inconvenience.
Final thoughts:
Not wheelchair-friendly.
Not stroller-friendly.
No proper balcony or lake view as shown in photos.
Would not recommend for families with babies or people with physical challenges.
