We had a great experience! The service was friendly and efficient, and our food came out quickly. The Baja Bang Shrimp Tacos were a standout, and the sauce was absolutely delicious! This place is definitely worth checking out for a quick bite or a casual meal.

Stooped in for lunch today. I placed a to go order. Inside seats about 30 people. You order food and drinks at counter and then sit down and they bring it to you. My order was to go so I called it in and then picked up. It was ready in 20 minutes. I ordered the Fundido de Chorizo, Baja Bang Shrimp, and Al Pastor. Shrimp tacos were very good. They come with pickled slaw, pico, cotija cheese, and chipotle mayo. Al Pastor was good as well, but I liked the shrimp better and they were more filling. The Fundido which has chorizo, cheese, onions, and mushrooms was excellent. They give you tortillas with the order. Overall, it’s a good place. It’s not your cheap street taco place. Prices aren’t crazy high, but they are up there. They do run a good taco lunch special during the week, which is priced well.

The Lonestar Living Team stopped by Mexican Cactus for lunch after securing an exciting new listing, and we couldn’t have picked a better spot to celebrate! From the warm welcome to the incredible food, everything was top-notch. We started with their fresh chips and salsa, both salsas were packed with flavor. Their street tacos—especially the waygu and pollo —were some of the best we’ve had. The service was fantastic, and the atmosphere made for the perfect post-listing celebration. If you’re looking for Mexican food in Allen, Mexican Cactus is a must-try. The Lonestar Living Team will definitely be back! 🌮🎉🍹

Literally such a good restaurant! Staff is so incredibly friendly & the pricing is so reasonable. Genuinely such a good experience! Also by far the best Mexican food Ive had in Texas! We definitely CLEARED our plates! What a find!!!

Stopped here as an early dinner pit stop on the way to Oklahoma. I was very pleasantly surprised with the food here. The tacos were delicious! I’m very sad that the likelihood of getting it again is low since I’m rarely in the area. 10/10 would absolutely eat again. Open a restaurant in Tulsa please!!!

I don’t understand the good reviews? This is my second and last time here. The food is not good. I had the Al Pastor street taco and the meat was inedible — full of fat. When one of the staff members came by to clear our table she asked “how was your food?” I told her my taco was full of fat and she just shrugged and said “that’s how the pork is.” Very indifferent response. I asked to speak to a manager. He came by with the same kind of attitude but did offer to refund my money. I make pork at home and it is never full of fat chunks. Very disappointed in the food and service.

A little gem right off the highway. The staff are friendly, the taco selection is phenomenal and the food is delicious. Loved my pork belly and fried shrimp tacos, the elote is the best I've ever had and those churros are hot, crunchy and cinnamon so good. Thank you for Easter lunch, highly recommend!

I would give this place a 6 if possible! I visit here almost every weekend and we travel from Prosper. The staff are always friendly, helpful, and they give amazing service. The food is always top tier. The best tacos in town. The margaritas are phenomenal as well. The atmosphere is bright, clean, and fun. But... don't go here. I don't want hoards of people to ruin my place. One word of advice to the owner -- open another MCB on the HEB property being built out off 380 and Coit. The area is growing and you have the best establishment. Train new cooks, and staff the way you have but here and it will be a hit in a growing area.

I admit I am a bit of a taco snob. That being said, this place is legit. Modern Latino feel, counter service but friendly service nonetheless. Fillings are great. Had the asada, bang-bang shrimp, pork belly and chicken Azteca. Full of flavor with variety of home made salsas. Rita's are delicious-top shelf was a favorite. Suggestions to make this a 5-star review: better corn tortillas worthy of the filling and roasted corn for the elote.

A large menu select. Everything was so delicious especially wagyu taco and Baja bang shrimp taco. The size is quite large so you get a lot for one taco. On Taco Tuesday you get a taco for under $4.00 for most of the item on the menu. Highly recommended this place!

Can't say enough good things about the food. Incredibly tasty. Wow. Food was prepared fast and came out hot. The margaritas pack a punch and are priced right. Normally this would be a goto place. But the reason for the one star review is they have one of those credit card devices that tries to guilt you into tipping. Sure, you can press the skip button but then you will spend the rest of the night wondering if they peed in your food. For this reason, if I could I would rate this negative three stars which is three stars less than no stars at all.

I have been putting off coming here for some time because I assumed I knew what I was getting into. What the heck,today is National Taco Day so, I through caution to the wind. I've seen strong reviews by a dependable Yelper or two so I felt comfortable asking Mexican Cactus to " Bring It"! Really glad I stopped in for National Taco Day. Their food is fresh,well prepared and generous. Prices are good and atmosphere is new. Friendly service rounds out a easy experience. Elote- corn in a cup was decent Fundido de Chorizo was excellent Cod Fish Tacos were large and flavorful Carne Asada taco was fantastic They have beer, margaritas and soft drinks available. Order at the counter,take a seat and your order is brought to you. They did a great job for a casual dining place, of bringing the Fundido appetiser first with time to enjoy before the tacos were brought. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend you... Go!

What a cute taco shop in Allen. Glad I checked out this place. It is clean and very spacious. Their service was fast and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I was surprised by their tacos... I thought they were really good. I absolutely loved that they had like 6 different salsas to try with your tacos ranging in degrees of hot. I do love spicy! I will definitely be back to visit.

Prompt & friendly service. Ordered the chorizo & egg breakfast taco & the nopales taco. Both were hot off the grill, fresh & quite tasty. I love the fact that there is nopales on the menu, which is hard to find. Look forward to trying the nopales salad & their lunch specials!

Great food and reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere. We ordered chips and guacamole. Guacamole tasted very clean and authentic. Chips were fresh and not too greasy. We tried the Wagyu beef, Carne Asada, chicken Tinga and Cod tacos, all with flour tortillas. All were so good! But fav two were chicken tinga and carne asada. 5 tacos, chips and guac and a soda was $39 (wagyu was $6.50, good but we liked regular carne asada better). Friendly staff, TVs, plenty of seating. Food came out quickly.

Highly recommend trying this place. A few things stood out to me: amazing service, great and friendly staff, really good prices especially on drinks, cleannnnnn establishment, beautiful murals, and good food! The food was so good. The street-style tacos are authentic and packed with flavor. The ambiance is both vibrant and welcoming, further enhanced by the enjoyable music that plays throughout the restaurant. Pair all this with their diverse and refreshing beverage selection and you have a winning combination.

Bought 3 taco's, chicken, Al pastor, and tofu. Great taste and seemed fresh. Their sour cream also nice. Also bought a chicken quesadilla, which was good. Only complaint is when I asked for hot sauce they told me there were two in the bag and there was just green sauce.

Vegan taco Tuesday! The staff is super helpful. They were able to "veganize" our tacos by taking off the eggs, cheese, and sauce (when applicable), as well as use corn tortillas. Both the red and green salsas are vegan friendly so we used them instead of any other sauce we removed. We were able to have full vegan meals with a margarita, 3 different taco types, and chips and guacamole. Chips and salsa are vegan as well. On Tuesday nights they have specials on both tacos and margaritas! We'll be back.

Being from Southern California we have had cravings for some good Carne Asada Tacos and other Mexican food items and my daughter had told me about this restaurant so we decided to try it out. We both got two of the Carne Asada tacos which were a la carte and you can choose to get them with corn or flour tortillas. They also come with onions and cilantro and lime. One thing I don't like is that you don't have the option to get a combo with rice and beans and you have to get everything separately. The rice and beans are cheap but when you see what size the container is you understand why. On a good note the tacos were very flavorful and seasoned perfectly especially when I squeezed some lime on them. I also got a side of Chips and Guacamole for my daughter and I to share. Finished my meal off with a refreshing Mexican Coca Cola in a bottle because there's nothing better! They have many other food Items that we would like to try out next time and they also have Kids meals for the little ones. Don't forget to get a frozen Margarita while you're there or to add to your delivery order!

We love the tacos here but the price doesn't make sense. We ordered the lunch special plate and got up charged $3 for the Mahi Mahi taco. The Mahi mahi taco is only $1.50 more than the other tacos why did you charge me $3 more? And the cashier didn't let us know when we ordered.

Food is always great. For what you pay and get it is very reasonable in comparison to other places. Normally don't get a drink, just get water. Decided to get a tea. Well, they only have fountain drinks. And the sweet tea is from the fountain machine. Sweetest fakest tea I've even had. I poured it out and was disappointed that I spent $3 on a drink I didn't like as I'm not a soda fan.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place for lunch because it was surprised to see such a high rated taco place in Allen. It was pretty busy for a rainy day during lunchtime. We took advantage of their lunch special - 3 tacos for $9.99 with rice and beans. What a steal! Between the both of us we ordered the pork belly, shrimp, codfish, and carne asada. The only one I wasn't a fan of was the codfish - it wasn't flavored enough but cooked perfectly ! The elote was also subpar. I would come back over and over again, especially for that pork belly. This will definitely take over my Torchy's Taco obsession.

I've lived in the DFW area for almost three years. I moved here from the north side of Chicago. I had given up on finding good, authentic tacos. I decided to just get them when I go up north. Everything down here is "Tex Mex" - Like who wants brisket on their tacos??? And I praise the Lord to have found truly authentic tacos- on TACO TUESDAY no less. We had the asada, carnitas, shrimp, and fish. And they were fresh, authentic, and yummy!!! We also ordered a side of rice and beans, horchata, and strawberry agua fresca. It was all DELICIOUS!! We will be back.

Overall I was happy and satisfied. I tried the 3 TACO lunch special and the price was great. The food was tasty and quantity AND quality were both good. I love that you can mix and match tacos. Inside was clean and the staff was busy with lots of customers. The tacos were very fulfilling. The meat was well seasoned. The Al Pastor was probably my favorite it was full of flavor. The steak was my 2nd favorite well seasoned and the cilantro, onions and lime gave it the perfect touch. The shrimp taco was ok I don't have to get it again. I think if they were grilled shrimp and not fried I would like it better. It just didn't do anything for me. The salsa red was better to me. The Margarita that day was Pineapple. This drink was better than I expected. It was refreshing, but had a nice mix of alcohol. They have daily flavors and I look forward to trying another flavor. Quick, simple fast food concept with flavorful tacos and drinks! I will be back and will make sure to take photos of the food.

These are yummy tacos!! Lots of sauce options. We tried 6 different ones. They were all good! The size is also great for the price!

We had our food delivered. The tacos were just so-so. The elote was made with canned corn, which was disappointing. We were looking forward to the flan, which sounded good according to the description on the menu, but we received teeny foil cups of overcooked, rubbery, old-tasting, BLAH egg custard to the tune of $3.99 a serving. The guacamole was pretty good. The chips were stale. Probably put into paper bags way in advance. Maybe days in advance by the taste of them. We won't be ordering from this place again.

Food was great. The elote was really good. I had the Carme asada and pollo azteca, both were amazing. My friends had the lengua and shrimp and they love it too.

Such a cute place! The murals are really cool and the food was as good as it looked. I'd say this is now one of my favorite tacos in the area. The al pastor was my favorite and had so much flavor. Service was super quick and everyone was r really nice. Will definitely be coming back again!

My family has chosen Mexican Cactus as our weekly Taco Tuesday spot. The service is fast and polite, with a chill ambiance. On Tuesdays their tacos are a super deal. Any other day they are still a great deal. Been over a dozen times, and love the place. When they mess up, they will make it right.

Beautiful food--big on flavor not on salt. My husband loved the wagyu taco and I got two of migas tacos--really appreciated that we could decide on the heat level with the table sauces. Very confident establishment.

Taco Tuesday nights at this spot are the best on this side of town by far! The food, service, drinks and prices can't be beat any place nearby!! Make sure you arrive as early as possible because after the 5:30 PM time mark the line is almost out the door and rightfully so it's that amazing!

First time here at 12:00 and no line..... I took a minute to look at the menu and started to order. The person at the register was friendly while taking my order. The environment def has a cool vibe about it. My food came out in waves elote, tacos, then fundido de chorizo. I had the habanero and hot green sauce that was supposed to be creamy, but wasn't, both tasted fine but neither was spicy. Elote was ok, nothing great and not seasoned well for my taste. Asada taco - meat has a great flavor Pastor taco - meat is not that great Fundido de chorizo - served in a small skillet that was not hot enough to really allow mixing everything, but this is more fast food style so I can see why it's not. Good meat to cheese ratio and good taste Corn tortillas for tacos are NOT cooked/grilled, which is a staple for street tacos Flour tortillas were like Walmart brand. Overall good place but will so many other options in the area, I prob will not go back

We tried the Tinga chicken, carne asada and the Baja bang shrimp. All three were very tasty the shrimp was my favorite. Enjoyed a cold beer and frozen margarita as well. Great spot for a quick drink and taco.

This place got it right, make a few items, make them well and treat the customer good. My son and I love tacos. We love good tacos and make our own version of good tacos at home often. It's always nice to go someplace and taste different and new takes on a classic food item, so when I heard from a friend I should try this place out... CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! You walk in and the place is pretty big. You need to walk to the counter and order, then they give you a number so they can bring your food to your table. I ordered a Pollo Azeteca (chicken taco) a Pastor tacos and a Carne Asada, my son ordered Carne Asada tacos. We also ordered chips and salsa just because it's the right thing to do. Within a few minutes, the food came out and we were pretty excited to see the tacos looked delicious. After the first bite, the assumptions were validated, the tacos were delicious. The meat was marinated perfectly and the juicy tacos did not disappoint. The salsa was delivered in a plain container with the chips in a bag. I assuming this is because of COVID, and it didn't' take away from the experience or taste. The chips and salsa were delicious, the salsa had a very unique flavor and it worked well! The place is clean. This to me should be a given, but since it's not always the norm, I have to mention that the cleanliness is very comforting. Long story short, it's awesome to see places like this open local. With great food, a great atmosphere, and a fantastic location, displaces built for success!

This was the most authentic and delicious mexican I've had outside of Mexico or Southern California. The home made tortillas were so fresh. The carne asada and al pastor were my favorite. Salsa was great, both the green and red. I'd recommend this place to anyone. We did take out and food was ready when we arrived.

I had the absolute BEST service today at Mexican Cactus Taco Bar! Lucy was so helpful when I brought my order back because it was too spicy. She helped me get my order with everything on the side so I could enjoy my lunch. She was so nice, friendly and fast getting my order. Thank you so much!!!!!

Never been here, well that was stupid because their tacos are freaking Amazing!!!! Service was awesome, food was awesome and Susie was more awesome. Drop and support our local restaurants you won't regret it.

We decided to try this place for lunch based upon the Advertisement as New Mexican Cuisine. I was expecting cuisine from New Mexico..... sigh not to be. Instead we got a slimmed down version of Velvet Taco without the drive thru. So here goes the experience. Menu board is extremely up so high you had to look at the ceiling. The music was so loud the lady behind the cash register taking orders had to ask us to repeat many times. Beverage selection was very limited in the non alcoholic choices and no unsweetened tea available. All seating is hard flat wood so this really is just a quick lunch grab as the atmosphere is meant to get you to eat and quickly leave as no conversation can be had over the music. Food is served on metal trays with taco rack, paper boats for rice and beans. Plastic ware and a huge round roll of brown stiff paper towel that have to be ripped off. The food was delivered luke warm by a server directly to the table. We both had ordered the corn tortilla option for our tacos. The corn shells were extremely tough and chewy on both plates. The server asked if we needed Taco sauce and we said yes. She left and went back to the register area and stood talking to the cashier. A new customer came in, ordered and was served his food. Our server went and brought him Taco sauce for his order. We waited some more and then decided to go get some taco sauce which other customers had. I walked up to counter and asked our server for some Taco Sauce. She looked at me like I was from Mars. Then she opened the fridge and handed me two bottles of Taco sauce. Overall the food was okay, the drink selection of basic non alcoholic beverages pitiful. I decided to stay with Velvet Taco, drive thru and eat on my own patio. I honestly think that Taco Bueno beats this place hands down and certainly is cheaper.

Food is yummy and lunch special isn't bad. $10 for 2 tacos with rice and beans. The sauces are amazing.

My wife and I came in for lunch. The lunch special knocked our socks off. All the tacos we tried was well seasoned, and had complex delicious flavors. The corn tortillas were so good I had to ask if they were made in house. I was told, yes everything is made in house. I believe it, because the food was delicious. The rice was a little dry, but the salsa fixed it up quick. The interior was nice and clean. And all the employees were super friendly. Overall worth the visit and now I'm hooked. Great experience.

My husband brought me and the family here the other weekend. I love the inside decor of this place. They have a great menu selection and the staff is amazingly sweet. Taste of the food overall was ok. Portions are great; but the only taco I liked was the carnitas; all the others just weren't very flavorful. Maybe it's just me....

If you are looking for a quick bite to eat, and a counter order/casual eatery, this is the place! The employees here are so nice and courteous! I ordered 2 carne asada tacos with cilantro and onion. The steak was seasoned, and they were juicy and tender. The cilantro and onions were freshly chopped. The "mild" green salsa was definitely spicier than I expected! I didn't even try the red one because the employee said that one was "spicy" and I was sweating trying the green salsa!

I wanted to try something new on Grubhub today so I figured this place would be a great idea and thankfully, I was right! Tacos I ordered: -Chorizo and Egg -Al Pastor -Pollo Azteca (chicken) -Carne Asada Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! So well seasoned and absolutely PACKED with flavor!! All of the proteins in each taco were super juicy and well balanced. None of the meat was dry at all! One thing I love about this place is they make all of their tortillas, (both flour and corn), in house. While I tried both variations, I preferred the flour tortilla, but both were great! While all of the tacos were awesome - the chorizo and egg taco was my favorite!! It was the biggest in size and it had the most ingredients (chorizo, egg, fried potatoes, melted mozzarella cheese, and fresh pico de gallo) - so it was the biggest in flavor too!! Oddly enough it was also the least expensive. Whatever the case - loved it! All of the ingredients and textures worked together perfectly! The guacamole was PHENOMENAL! It was perfectly salted and all of the ingredients were super fresh!! They even added an extra lime wedge which was a fantastic touch. Ordinarily it comes topped with sunflower seeds, but I opted out of those. Usually when I have guacamole delivered, I end up having to brighten up the flavors with the seasonings in my kitchen but much to my surprise, this did not need any of my extra help. It was PERFECT! I had to take a star off for two reasons - one, because I didn't love the salsas. They were both spicy but had interesting flavors that weren't my favorite. Also, my Al Pastor had little to no pineapple on it, so that was disappointing, but thankfully, the taco was still on point! So yeah - overall this place is BOMB!!!!! I would absolutely recommend it!!

This place is fantastic and the flavor profiles are interesting/well thought out! Love the nopales tacos! Good grief they are delicious and charred perfectly. The guac, salsa, and chips are also solid. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. Food comes out quickly. Def recommend checking them out!

Tried this little restaurant yesterday for the first time and it was a good experience for the most part! For an appetizer, we shared their chips and salsa. We didn't care for it since the chips were cold and the salsa was mediocre. Then, my mom and I decided to get two tacos each (resulting in a two-taco plate w/ rice & beans) - carne asada/al pastor & carne asada/waygu carne asada all on corn tortillas. The tacos itself were good, they tasted fresh, and were filled to the max! However, the rice & beans were a little under-seasoned and did not prove to be anything special. Overall, the place was clean & the service was quick and friendly! The food just needs a little tweaking, but this little restaurant has a lot of potential in its future!

Found this spot via Yelp and we're so glad we did! The tacos are margaritas all tasted fresh and delicious. I'm a wimp, so I couldn't enjoy much of the ceviche and shrimp cocktail due to some of the ingredients. But I may see if I can modify my order a bit, like I did for my tacos. The service here is great as well. Everyone's so friendly! This has become our go-to taco spot.
