Mexican History Museum

Must see museum! So much to see for $60 pesos. There are 3 museums. The Mexican history one was so good! They had so much to see and a lot of information that’s mostly written in Spanish but hey you’re in Mexico. You can use google translate with your camera and viola English. Lots of workers to help guide you through as we got a little lost at the Norte museum. They also have a cafe so you can take a break and have breakfast or lunch or a coffee and snack. The coffee was subpar but the concha was good (they warmed it up) it was very affordable as well. A place I will not forget! So clean too.

The Mexican History Museum was easy to find. The displays and exhibits are educational, interesting, & beautiful. I would highly recommend.

I especially loved the textile exhibition honoring Indigenous women—moving, vibrant, and full of meaning. A delightful surprise: the museum’s library is open to the public, and you can stay there to work or read quietly all day—an unexpected and very welcome bonus. After your visit, you’re just steps away from the charming old quarter of Monterrey, filled with excellent restaurants and beautiful places to explore and relax. In short: a must-visit for anyone interested in history, culture, and meaningful experiences in Monterrey.

The Mexican History Museum in Monterrey is an absolute gem. It’s incredibly well-organized and packed with valuable knowledge — perfect for both locals and visitors looking to connect with the country’s roots. I happened to go on a Tuesday, and to my surprise, admission was free! Even outside of that, entry is very affordable and 100% worth it. Beyond the exhibits, the museum itself is stunning, with scenic indoor and outdoor walkways that make the experience even more special. There’s so much to explore — it’s easy to spend hours there without realizing it. Whether you’re a history buff or just someone looking to enjoy a meaningful and visually inspiring day, this museum delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend.

A great deal three museums for only 40 pesos. It was so fascinating loved the pre colonial and Mother Earth exihibits.

It’s interesting enough to visit, but the English signage (the lack of it) made the visit very difficult for anyone without great Spanish skills.
