I’m always pleasantly surprised to find authentic Mexican food in Asia. The owner is from Mexico, so it’s no wonder they really nailed the flavors here. I’m from San Diego, California, not far from Tijuana, and have traveled to CDMX, all of Baja, and Oaxaca. The carne asada tacos I had here at Mexicano were seriously legit, as were the salsas.
The pico de gallo was close, though slightly off, but the verde, mole, and roja salsas were all so good! The tacos came on handmade tortillas that had just a slight chew, and the meat was seasoned beautifully with a nice sear. I was transported back to Tijuana for a few minutes.
A lot of patrons complain about the pricing, which I agree is steep, even in US terms, but you get what you pay for. The tacos here will not disappoint.
