The taco was not as good as we expected; on the contrary, it was bland, low in content, and plain, but it was quite affordable. The other dishes, however, were really good and filling. The tongue taco and head taco are definitely worth trying. Also, the decorations are a bit excessive and overwhelm the atmosphere. ( only street parking 🅿️ 🚘)

Great mexican restaurant. As soon as you go in it feels like Mexico like The decoration and the music. The staff is super friendly. The food is delicious. The serve you chips when seated. The portions are big. We ordered Steak Tostadas, different flavorede tacos and a chicken sandwich. The natural juices are very good. Definitely will be coming back.

Great food. The problem? SOME are nasty with the way they take order. Not all but it definitely ruins your appetite. Some food is organize but this is ridiculous. This is how you just pack food? It’s 50/50 when coming here. You might have the nicest time or they just ruin your mood. I’m surprise people say it’s a good restaurant when my experience was not that great at all. Must be bots.

Very authentic and fresh Mexican food! Great service and a really good price considering their portion. Not a lot of vegetarian options but their vegetarian tacos were amazing!! The server was very generous and gave me a tasting sip of Hibiscus drink. $2 tacos are steal! Will surely visit again.

very cozy and Family friendly. service is quick and attentive. the decorations add to the authentic replica of holidays in Mexico. the Jamaica is good which is a plus and that green sauce! very good and the tacos were juicy and flavorful. dont skip on that green sauce! you can order by taco, and their $2 a pop... which is still very affordable. Will be going back to try the rest of the menu. by the way, its a small menu so there's more focus on the quality of food prepared. I dont get the negative reviews... as long as the food hits, thats all that matters.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a small, family-owned Mexican taco restaurant called "El Original Mexico Restaurant." The restaurant is located in a somewhat hidden spot, but it is well worth seeking out. On Market St, in Passaic New Jersey, this restaurant brings out the food of its people with great prices. The tacos are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the flavors are truly authentic. I tried the carnitas taco, which was made with slow-cooked pork that was tender and flavorful. The al pastor taco was also excellent, with its smoky, marinated pork and pineapple. What a unique sweet taste it gives off. The tortillas are made fresh daily, and they are the perfect vehicle for the delicious fillings. The salsas are also made in-house, and they add the perfect amount of heat and acidity to the tacos. The service was friendly and attentive. The staff is always happy to make recommendations, and they are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you have a great dining experience. Overall, I had a wonderful meal. Not only that but the horchata was delicious, the service excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Only $2 per taco, with a wide variety of options to choose from. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic Mexican food.

Flavorful, fresh and delicious Mexican food. Service is quick and staff is friendly. Please note, during weekends there will be 15-20 mins wait to get a table. Our all time favorite is Tacos, reasonably priced and always fresh

I was really looking forward to trying this spot, but unfortunately the food was a letdown. The tacos I ordered were dry and tasted stale, and the birria was surprisingly bland. I had high hopes based on the reviews, but the experience left me disappointed and not eager to return. It’s especially disheartening since the tamales at the place next door are fantastic, which made the contrast even more noticeable. :(

Food is always good here, plenty of options to choose from, tacos are only $2 and they have food portions. Service is fair not that annoying waitress asking you every 3 minutes if you need anything else they are very attentive. Piñatas hanging from the ceiling and Mexican paintings on the wall, music and a good atmosphere. Parking is a nightmare you will have to park a little far unless you get really lucky and get a spot on the block, also there's always cars double parked they are picking up to go orders and just run inside to get something fast.

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 5 years and will continue to come back. It is a casual authentic Mexican food spot with delicious tacos for an amazing price. All the tacos are delicious but my favorite is the al pastor and chorizo. The green salsa is amazing and add a little bit of red salsa for an extra kick. I tried the pozole for the first time this visit. It was warm, delcious and had a deep yet clean broth perfect for the cold weather. I've tried their tostadas, echiladas, and agua frescas. Their horchata and in the summer the watermelon drink is my favorite as well. The servers are kind and the restaurant gets very packed. Parking is a little difficult but the tacos keep me coming back. I've also called ahead or ordered online for pick up and my experiences were smooth as well.

There's no special "Taco Tuesday deal" because there's no need to when Tacos are $2 everyday except the Birria ones which are about $14 for 4. There is a self ordering machine with pictures and prices or you can just order directly from the nice lady at the front. Their tacos are pretty authentic with a lot of locals there for their tacos and other varieties. Total worth it and they come out fast which as well. Not much nearby but there's street parking for 20 mins per quarter. Their horchata has just the right amount of cinnamon and sweetness.

Excellent food and service. The tacos are only $2 - they are super tasty and better than most $5 tacos in Manhattan. I also love their tostadas. The chips and salsa were complimentary and the restaurant has a fun vibe.

$2.00 tacos and you can not go wrong by these authentic tacos . I got 4 steak tacos . Great flavor and good amount of meat within the taco . Served with a green sauce that has a little spice to it and lime on the side too . I love coming here especially with great prices . I highly recommend. Come try and you can mix and match in one order which is a plus .

So disappointed! Found this restaurant through IG and my son asked me to take him for his birthday. We get there and we we're not acknowledge. I had to stare the lady down at The counter. That's when she told me to write my name down on a paper. I noticed other people put down how many and their phone numbers. There is no designated waiting area or any room to wait inside. I asked the lady at the counter if she would call us when our table is ready and she said yes so we waited in the car. 45 mins go by and we hadn't received any calls so I sent my husband to check on the estimated waiting time. They had a full table open for the past 10 mins before they decided to let him know we can come in! We sit down and everyone's just staring at us. Soon to find out they were closing and had nothing to drink but water! Sure enough, I LEFT! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

We got the birria tacos and i got the Horchata, they were so good. The wait was a while, but it was worth it. They had someone playing the guitar as well. Our waiter was really nice too

I found this place on Yelp because the $1.50 tacos caught my eye. So, we ordered a bunch of tacos for pick up on a Friday at around 5 pm. The tacos are now $2, but that's still really cheap. It's almost Mexico City prices, so can't complain there. It seems like an authentic Mexican place because they had more than just your standard chicken, beef, and chorizo. They had all the offals, which is rare to see - especially at this price. We had the al pastor, lengua, buche (pork stomach), cabeza, tripa, suadero. Most of the tacos were fine, though the suadero was dry. The al pastor was good but some pineapple could have put this over the top. But the star of the show was the tripa. I think they must fry it or something, because there were crispy bits in it, which really made the taco. At least, we thought it was tripe since we couldn't really tell what was what just by looking - but came to tripe as a process of elimination. I'll be back to make sure it indeed was the tripe, and next time, I'll be trying the ear, and pork skin tacos! Tip - they don't tell you this, but if you use credit card, there's a processing fee - which I found out after the fact.

Baby let me tell you this, Mexico restaurant is a gem. GO THERE NOW. Immediately and urgently. The servers are so kind, the food is delicious; and the cost is literally a no brained. I had about 5 different types of tacos-- I can't even beefing to describe how tasty they were. PLEASE GO.

The dishes are authentic, love their pozole and Pambazos. Their tacos use to be really good, the actual tortilla is not so great now but the rest is amazing.

This is the best Mexican restaurant in North Jersey! So many choices of tacos and very hard to find kinds. It feels like grannies are making them with centuries old recipes. We had: Cueritos - Pig Skin - this was interesting, I did like the gelatinous texture but i would have prefer it to be more tender Cabeza - Head meat - OMG it's so tender and delicious! Our favorite!!! Buche - Pork Stomach - it was ok, I've had better Suadero - meat from between the belly and the leg - this was tender and really good Al Pastor con Pina - this was good but I would not have the pineapple next time :D Lengua - Tongue - it was ok Tripa - Cow Stomach - this was good

Food is delicious! We've been coming here for years and we always enjoy it. The horchata is one of my favorites. It is real horchata, not the fake stuff! The service is incredibly fast. We are usually in and out without 30 minutes. The decor is loud and fun! It can accommodate small and big parties but it's not the biggest space. The food and the price is worth it though! Already looking forward to our next visit.

I decided to try this place because they have tacos de cuero which are my fave. I also got brisket, steak and chicken tacos. I was so disappointed when I took a bite into the first taco and it tastes like cleaning solution. The tortillas was old and stale. the limes are old and dry. The salsas were ok but kinda hard to enjoy them on their own. I would not go back to this place because for all these four tacos were about 30$ and a jarritos. I threw all of it out after taking one bite. Not fresh, not worth it.

So this is actually a 3* rating but they're getting an extra star just because of how cheap the tacos are. It's a small restaurant but we were seated right away. Service was very slow. We ordered 5 steak, 4 carnitas, 2 brisket tacos and 1 cheese quesadilla. The server repeated the order to us and then we only ended up getting 4 steak and 2 carnitas tacos. By the time the server came back to us so we can ask for the rest, we really weren't hungry anymore. So the tacos themselves are hard to complain about because they were like $1.25. The tortillas are THICK. Almost bread like, so I ended up just taking off the second tortilla. And the meat was pretty flavorless but all the sauces are there on the table.

Great, tasty, clean and super fresh place. Service was great and our Server Paola was kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was amazingly excellent. Keep up the great job everyone, team work.

The place is busy. On a Sunday afternoon, many families having a leisurely meal. For small group , you do get seated quick. The staff are busy. Yet they come quick with their pads to take order. The food is cooked fresh. It was great. They have hot sauce on the table. The main road parking can be difficult. But you got parking on side streets easily.

I absolutely love this Mexican spot because the tacos are $1.50-$1.75 and they are super authentic and yummy! Yup you heard that right! $1.50 tacos! Every time i want some cheap, delicious Mexican tacos i come here. The quesadillas are also amazing and huge. When you go in you can sit anywhere you want and then a server will come to you so that you order your food. If you get Tacos Al Pastor don't forget to add pineapples. It definitely elevated the taste. The agua frescas are also so refreshing and tasty. They have Agua de Jamaica, sandia, Horchata just to name a few. One time when i went they even had lemonade! I believe it varies per day. In this place you really get a bang for your bucks and i recommend 100%!

I went to Mexico Restaurant on Saturday night. I really enjoyed it! The food was delicious! I love that you can order individual tacos and they are so cheap ($1.25-$1.50). They have great choices. I tried cow's head meat for the first time! Also, my friend and I ordered a serving of guacamole and chips. It was delicious!

The food quality has definitely declined a lot and prices are way too expensive and it just doesn't taste good limes are very very dry and the meat was no good made us feel a bit sick .

Mexico Deli is currently my favorite spot for Taco Tuesday! Except you can go any day because the prices are $1.00 or $1.50 per taco, depending on which one you get. The space is small, and decorated in a kitschy Mexican theme. Fortunately the staff speaks English, so no worries about placing an order. I've gotten the lengua, tripa, cabeza, oreja, and buche tacos. I especially enjoy interesting cuts of meat, and all of these are still at most, only $1.50. They're served with cilantro, onion, radishes, and lime on a double tortilla. All the meats were cooked to the proper texture, though some were a bit under seasoned. But that's why there's plenty of salt and salsa on the table. I especially like their salsa verde, though the rojo ain't bad. Parking can be annoying, but the food and prices are worth the trip.

You don't have to wait for a Taco Tuesday, the tacos here are a great price of $1-$1.50 each day of the week! This place has good authentic Mexican food at good prices. You can easily fill up two people for under $20. The seasoning can be a hit or miss (minus 1 star) so it's likely you'll want to add their red or green hot sauce for a little extra flavor. The restaurant is small on the inside so the 8-seater tables are ususally divided to seat different parties. If social distancing is a concern then you may prefer grabbing takeout. The menus are placed underneath a plexiglass at each seat of the table, so all you have to do is look down to see everything offered. No need to worry about scanning a qr code on your phone. The parking here can be difficult, which is typical for this area, so expect to park further away and walk it over. If anyone in your group has mobility issues then you may want to drop them off in front while you grab a parking spot. All in all, I gladly come here when I'm in the neighborhood for quick and cheap eats. I recommend you check it out the next time you want authentic Mexican tacos.

This place is consistently outstanding and one of the most authentic Mexican spots in my book. I wanted some mole and knew they would make it well and they did not disappoint!!! I'm amazed that 4 chicken enchiladas with mole was only $10!!!!! WHAT??!! My mom got the chicken alambre (no cheese) and she loved it. We also got 2 steak tacos which after the price increase are now and unfathomable $1.25. I'm so happy this restaurant is close enough I can go satisfy my cravings.

It's been a few weeks, but I promised myself to write a review for Mexico Restaurant, because of their quality ---- not just in food, but in service as well. We had ordered a large order for Father's Day: 50 Tacos, 1 Chicken Quesadilla, 1 Chicken Tenders w/ fries, and Extra Chips + guacamole....all online, and we had requested it to be ready inabout an hour and a half! We made our way there, the food took an extra 10 minutes (understandable), and came home. When we got back, we were amazed at the amount of food and ate to our hearts content....it wasn't until Mexico Restaurant reached out to us and told us they had forgotten to put the Chips and Quesadilla into our bags! They were so nice and apologetic, that they said we should call them when we're about 15 minutes out, and they would make those two items fresh to order upon arrival. Dedication! When we got there, the workers were absolutely amazing, and even gave us two horchatas as a way of apology. We didn't mind. 5/5. 10 out of 10. Quality food and quality service! Don't sleep on them!

When i got my food there was a piece of cabbage I ordered a SALAD this is an OUTRAGE salad is meant to contain LETTUCE not cabbage expect to hear from my lawyer.

Amazing tacos! Thought all the good tacos were in LA, but this comes close. And it's about $1.50 per taco! You can't complain about that!! Great service, great food and great vibes!

Had the Pozole for lunch VERY good. Pozole was delicious ! Big size , Good flavor. Served with lettuce, radish, Mexican oregano, lime, hot sauce & 2 Tostadas. All I can say is WOW. The best 12$ I ever spent. The ladies are very nice & welcoming. This place has become a " must " for me now

La comida está muy bien pero quiero hacer una crítica constructiva, La comida debe ser servida al mismo tiempo para toda la mesa u orden emitida Se ve muy mal que unos están comiendo y el resto de la mesa esperando por mas de media hora mas En especial si se ordenan tacos la orden de tacos deben traerla al último ya que el resto de comida esté casi listo, solo un poco de falta de Coordinación.

For a dollar a taco I formally state this challenge: If anyone can meat or beat the authenticity, value and quality of this joint... let it be known. I had the Cabeza (cow face taco), Al Pastor, Brisket, Carnitas, and Orejas (cow ear taco). Al Pastor was my personal fav... I went back for a second... the Cow face was fatty and tasty.. the ear was a first try for me, perhaps my last. An interesting consistency, but not my fav. The brisket was also a highlight, perfectly cooked. Not mushy, not tough.. Goldilocks baby!!! And the carnitas was a hit with my belly as well. I washed it all down with a passion fruit drink... and for 10$ it is obvious to me that what this country needs .. is NOT A WALL!!! We need a high speed train from the boarder to bring real tacos to the people!!! Not these 5$ hipster tacos with artistically sourced nonsense!! We need street tacos, and we need them yesterday.

This place is just ok nothing special except the cheap price per taco. It's just a local spot that I would go to if I lived in the area and wanted something fast and cheap, but it's definitely not a go out of your way from far and wide because you to have these tacos kinda place but again the price point is great at $2 a taco. Just don't expect it to be mind blowing tacos. We ordered the carnitas, pollo, Al Pastor and chorizo, two of each taco or at least I thought. I get home and found they gave us seven not the 8 tacos we ordered. I live about 20 min. away and I was not about to go back for a taco. They really need to be more thorough when doing to-go food. The chorizo was good but the rest were dry and bland. For the inside it is quaint and liked the way it was decorated. So no problem there. About service they're nice but they don't speak English too good if it all so good luck if you don't speak Spanish and they obviously don't make sure pick-up orders are correct. Yelp kinda let me down on this one with the stellar reviews for this place. If you're local and about within 10 min drive or walking distance go ahead and go. But don't travel far to try this place. The tacos here are some of the best authentic ones in town. There are many choices with only $1.00/$1.50 each. Also tried the milanesa de res, steak was thin and crispy. Nicely breaded and wasn't too oily. Came with lots of fries and beans. Social distancing enforced with safety measures. The staff was very nice taking our order. Will have to come back for more of those tacos.

My friend came for a visit a few weeks ago and we found this place while in Passaic. We stopped in and had tacos for lunch and absolutely loved it! So much so we went back for lunch again the very next day . I've lived here a year and a half now and have yet to find really good Mexican food and this place wins my love!!

Absolutely delicious, went with my coworker who's Mexican. He said it's his favorite in NJ. I loved it! Very authentic menu with items I've never seen elsewhere. We ordered a ton of different tacos and I tried tongue tacos for the first time, which were delicious. I also had cantaloupe juice and my first Horchata. I can't wait to go back there. Absolutely awesome stuff!

I started coming here a few months ago and I love it. I always get tacos when I come, except for once I got chicken quesadillas. My favorite tacos by far are chicken and al pastor, both with everything on them (what other way is there to eat tacos?) and the al pastor are great with pineapple too. They're wonderfully seasoned and a decent size, they also come with lime slices and radish, as well as the two different hot sauces. And the best part? They're only $1 each. My friend convinced me to try their chicken and cheese quesadillas one time, and I did not regret it. The quesadillas are filled with flavor and the shell is perfectly fried so you get a nice crunchy texture eating it. These come in at $7.50 for 3 (they're about double the size of tacos). I also enjoy getting a horchata whenever I come to a taco place. They make this really good here too, but at $5 for a large, I might skip this next time I go. For parking, you'll probably have to park a block or two away as it's a busy street and this place gets packed on the weekends and nights. If you come and there's a wait for seating, don't worry, there are other places nearby for tacos too. A plus of this place too is that the decor is nice, it's colorful and lively. Tl;dr: You could go to some random bar advertising "$2 taco Tuesdays! $5 margaritas," with inauthentic tacos, and not necessarily all that flavorful OR, hear me out - you can come to Passaic and go to Mexico Deli or one of the other taco places around there and get real, delicious $1 tacos.

Two words: Dollar. Tacos. These are not only the best dollar tacos I've ever had, but they're some of the best tacos that I've had in the area in general! I had one chorizo, one chicken and one steak. They're all super flavorful and the rice&beans was a perfect side. In total, my fiancé and I had 7 tacos, rice&beans and 2 drinks for $13 ...so yeah, you should really go there ASAP!

This is my absolute favorite taco spot! The closest I've tried in the East Coast that compares to California and Mexico. Very authentic and delicious. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. If you call ahead of time, you can avoid long waits. My favorites are the oreja, pastor con piña and the tripas. Their yellow rice and refried beans are too die for also!

Delicious and authentic tacos at amazing prices! Definitely always stop here when in the area. The tacos de lengua are my favorite with tamarind juice! So good! The service is always fast and the servers are polite! Truly a must have if you're looking for tasty food. The restaurant does get crowded on the weekends so there may be a little bit of a wait but totally worth it!

As a mexican mobile restaurant owner, i came to Passaic to bulk buy some product but saw the overwhelming amount of mexican culture, that we decided to get breakfast here, and even though this was not our first option (because our first option was closed) we came to Mexico Restaurant and wow we are so happy we got here! The service at this restaurant makes you feel like you're eating a home cooked meal at a relatives house! Don't even get me started on the food! Completely authentic and original family recipes. Safe to say that we will be coming to this location every time we come to the area.

My FAVORITEEE taco place. $1 for almost all types of tacos!! They can be a little dry sometimes but nothing a little limon can't fix! I always get bistec and al pastor! Try the al pastor with pineapples and you won't regret it!

Very rude and nasty. I called to place an order for my job and the person was nasty and hung up the phone. Absolutely poor service. Please train your employees nobody should have to ensure that level of unprofessionalism.

This place hands down has some of the best tacos I have ever tasted and they're all either $1 or $1.50. The decorations are beautiful and the service is very quick. The place in general is well kept and the workers are very friendly. We only got tacos and this cultural drink called "horchata" which tasted very good too. I definitely recommend the carnitas, tongue, and al pastor, top 3! Definitely want to go back to try more food, but will be my go to taco heaven!

Everything was great service cleanliness tacos we had all of them I had the pozole tostadas great food fast and friendly. My granddaughters said the rest room was very clean and smelled fresh they notice everything they loved the fries there is a kids menu it's cute when you read it you will agree. I recommend that you cal reserve your table and enjoy!!!

Awesome tacos!!! Can't beat $1 tacos. But honestly we all know it's not just about the price, the tacos were filling and flavorful. I tried the al pastor, chicken and chorizo. The al pastor was perfect, the right mix of sweet and savory and a hint of spice. Chicken was good, the meat was tender and moist and every well seasoned. The chorizo was equally delicious and just enough spice to leave you wanting more. Try their red hot sauce and cilantro sauce, both a good complement to the tacos. And do yourself a favor and get a agua de Jamaica (hibiscus tea)

Everything I've tried is great. Standouts are the tacos, the pozole, and the breaded steak. The hot sauce has a nice kick as well. Go and enjoy.

I live in southern New York, it's nice but it lacks the authenticity of Northern New Jersey. Northern New Jersey features one amazing ethnic enclave after another. Today my daughter found a thrift shop in Passaic, NJ and of course I jumped on Yelp to find a nearby restaurant. The Mexico Restaurant is clean and festive, the seating is communal with shared tables. We went around 2ish on a Sunday, it was full and we were seated after a brief wait. The waitress was very nice and professional. The food was served quickly and at the perfect temperature. After seeing another Yelp review, I knew I was going to have the pozole. After seeing the menu, I knew I was also having a bunch of tacos. My daughter had a huge portion of chicken fingers and fries. My wife had grilled chicken, yellow rice, and refried beans. They both enjoyed their meals. We added the small guacamole for the table. It is tremendously fresh, with solid chunks of avocado. It's also served with great restaurant made chips. The pozole was incredible! Delicious and rich chicken broth, punctuated with flavor from Mexican oregano, and chock full of tender hominy and pork. They serve it with lime wedges, onions, lettuce, and some of the hottest hot sauce I've had in a while. The hot sauce added a nice note to the soup. The pozole also came with two tortilla rounds with bean spread, cheese, and lettuce. Basically a ton of food. That said, I still needed tacos because I'm a gluttonous Yelper. I picked al pastor, chorizo, brisket, head, and ear tacos. (I wanted tongue but they were out, yet another reason to return) The tacos are super affordable and they don't cheap out on size or filling. The flavor is amazing and they're great with the green or red salsa. We also had the cactus. First time I had cactus and I found it to be tender and enjoyable. Washed all that down with a fantastic horchata and walked out satisfied! We'll be back. Tremendous and authentic!
