Enjoyed the food. Took a little bit longer than I thought it would get waited on, not a crazy amount of time. Once my order was placed, my food was served in a pretty quick fashion. The waitress seemed really nice. It was a good value. I don’t live around the Holland area, but, if I did, I’d probably go back again.

Overall great place. I got the Birria tacos and left really impressed. This was an unexpected stop, and I plan to come again. Must try, if you’re in the area and want good food.

Really great place downtown. The inside was beautiful. The staff was very friendly even when very busy. One of the best burrito's I have had in a restaurant. Birria tacos on special were also amazing. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

The two vegan tacos are excellent. You may need extra sauces if you want some spiciness. The charro beans are vegetarian - no lard. We went on a busy tulip festival weekend, so had to wait to get the food. But otherwise, it was great!

Megan was our server and she was phenomenal. So attentive, kind, and gave great recommendations. The outdoor space was peaceful and comfortable with shades. I got the chicken empanadas and they were SO good. Definitely a new gem in our town! Thanks Megan!

We cannot say enough about the quality of food and the staff was phenomenal! The Pastor has pineapple mixed in and it was amazing! My son had the shrimp burrito and loved it!

TLDR: I enjoyed my food and drinks- the rest of my party thought it was just ok- but I thought it was good! The service was great! We didn’t tell the server that it was my uncle’s birthday, but he overheard me saying happy birthday to him, and brought a free celebratory dessert with a sparkler and played the birthday song! It was unexpected and extra, and I would’ve loved it if it were for me . The atmosphere was good too. It was decently busy when we went to celebrate my uncle’s birthday in October of last year- hence the fall stuff in this review 🤣. My bf and I ordered the Fall Drink )Apple Cider, carmel, whipped cream, Cinnamon) and very much enjoyed it, so if they do it again next year, I’d highly recommend trying it. My party ordered the LOADED NACHOS (TOTOPOS, QUESO DIP, CHOICE OF ASADA, TINGA, PASTOR ,CHORIZO OR VEGETARIAN, PICO DE GALLO, QUESO FRESCO, CREMA) and I had a chip on the side without meat lol. They were pretty good, but we didn’t finish them because we ordered too much food 🥲. We ordered the quesabirria tacos ( SLOW COOKED BEEF IN A BROTH SERVED ON A TORTILLA WITH MELTED CHEESE TOPPED WITH CILANTRO AND ONION. SIDE OF CONSOME) and it was reported back to me as being “ok”. Like I said, my party didn’t love the food here, but it looked good to me! I ordered the TACO PESCADO (GRILLED TILAPIA, SHREDDED CABBAGE, PICO DE GALLO, CHIPOTLE CREMA) and TACO CAMARON (GRILLED SHRIMP, SHREDDED CABBAGE, PICO DE GALLO, CILANTRO) and thought they were both good, but preferred the pescado over the Cameron. I wanted everything so I ordered another drink- AGUA FRESCA (FRESH FRUIT WATER MADE WITH NATURAL FRUIT ASK FOR THE FLAVORS OF THE DAY) and the flavor of the day was Piña and it was super duper sweet but absolutely delicious. Again, because I want everything 😅, I ordered the Arroz con Leche (served warm. Sweet, rich and creamy rice with milk and cinammon) and it was everything I dreamed it would be. Nostalgic hints of childhood breakfast time and fall/wintertime coziness. Finally, our server brought out a surprise dessert sorbet with chile for my uncle on his birthday! I loved it- he doesn’t love attention so it was a bit much for him, as the music was loud and the sparkler was SPARKLING ✨💥 ✨, but if you know someone who likes to be celebrated, this it definitely the place for that! 🎉 🎊 🙌 Overall I liked this place. Will most likely return if in the area 😎

Cute and lovely atmosphere. The service is great and food is delicious! This is the second time we’ve come here to dine in and I really enjoyed the hot cocoa in these adorable mugs. Valentine’s Day vibes for sure 💗. I highly recommend this place!

This is my favorite restaurant in Holland! I always get a bowl of some sort and whatever specialty drink they have that season. Their service is always quick and the food feels fresh as well as nourishing. It's a very unpretentious but clean restaurant. They even go all out during tulip time and decorate their space accordingly. I highly recommend Mezkla

We stopped by for a light snack and got three tacos for $12: pastor, carne asada, and patatas. They also had two different salsas that were really delicious but maybe too spicy for some people. I also liked that they had several vegan options. Our tacos arrived very quickly. The atmosphere was pleasant and we will definitely be back.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with Mezkla. I had the pastor and chorizo tacos which were quite good. My wife had the tostados which had stale shells but the rest of it was tasty. They have indoor and outdoor seating and it is very clean and decorated well. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the service. They seemed understaffed the night that we were there. We asked for chips and salsa when we sat down and we had to ask for it again when we got our food. our waitress stopped at our table maybe twice and we had to ask other the other waitress for silverware and water. They are new so hopefully they can improve on these things.

The service was super fast and the food was INSANELY good. They played good music and the vibes were nice in the restaurant. We had the empanadas, the carne asada tacos with cheese and the queso... we never wanted the tacos to end. I'm gluten free and there were SO many options for me!!

Very mid and over priced tacos. Got carne asada and shrimp tacos and the carne asada meat was dry. Shrimp was too salty. Tacos overall lacked flavor (other than salty shrimp). Went at a very busy time so service was very slow.

Parking is surprisingly easy for downtown Holland. I've been anticipating eating here since I heard they opened! They started as a food truck and now have a brick and mortar for fast casual dining. The food was good, but the menu is fairly limited. I'll be trying the bowl with Al pastor next time!

Good Mexican food with flair. Really liked the chips and guacamole. Burritos with a crispy cheese wrap were very good. We will try it again. No alcohol on site, but for Holland that is common. Service was great and it is bright and airy with an open kitchen.

Some of these reviews are so opposite of our experience going to Mezkla. It's a small business with a fancy corporate feel!! It's so adorable when you walk by , through the window you see them making fresh tortillas from scratch. The service was amazing, the staff is kind and helpful answering any questions! I wish this place was a national chain! The food is so incredibly fresh! When I tell you it's the best tacos I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating. The burritos are insanely amazing too! I ate here traveling and I haven't stopped thinking about the food since! I will absolutely be making a trip here again just to eat their food! I think everyone should come here far and wide and try their food atleast once!

We were biking around the area and stopped in. We opted to buy tacos Ala cart- al pastor, chorizo, and a zucchini veggie with a side of rice and beans. The favorite was chorizo, although it seemed like it was more of a ground beef as opposed to ground pork but we don"t care either way, then pastor and zucchini didn't hold a rank. The pastor was dry, the zucchini had no other flavor to it, the rice was bland and barely got touched. The beans were soupy and good. The verde was too spicy for us but we can't handle the heat. I would not return here for the food. There is not a bar, the decor is nice .

Just had lunch in Holland on eighth street. As a lifelong Chicago resident we know good Mexican restaurants this place was great.service spot on food quality excellent portion size abundant beautiful day under an umbrella at the sidewalk. Highly recommended I'll be back many times.

Been here twice now and both times the food was off the chain. I will definately be back as this is my go to place for Mexican food here in town.

Extremely unimpressed with the service at Mezkla. They failed to prep our to-go order, so we had to wait while our order went to the back of queue. Ended up getting our food 30 minutes after our pickup time. We were not offered an apology or discount. Not even a free chips and salsa. For the price we paid, we deserved way better. Edit with an update: our late to-go order did not contain some items we had paid for! Upon needing to go back in and wait for the rest of our food, we again received no apology or discount. Dismal showing. Won't be back.

This place was packed in the mid afternoon. Super cute interior with its nature vibe and a little fun. Service was great! Super friendly & kind servers, everyone was hustling. From the hostess, servers to the cooks. I loved that the they all seemed invested in the restaurant--cooks: staying super focused to ensure fast, fresh and delicious food; the hostess, checking in with all staff and attending to customers; servers checking in with cooks or using downtime to roll silverware or tidy up an area. The food was incredible too! Some of the best tacos in WMI. The vegan options were excellent. /taco nopales ( I love cactus!) /1 taco papa (sweet potato, cauliflower, cilantro, onion & avocado). What really makes this taco is the tasty vegan almond chipotle crema! Great job, team!

Okay, big pros: the sweet potatoes and cactus and guac were all really well done; super cute inside; compostable to go packaging, very quick service. Cons: no outdoor seating and pricing. okay, I know I added guac, so that's on me, but I think it's kinda pricey for quantity and being in Michigan? Like it was LA pricing. I think it would've been cheaper but she added on some kind of service charge when she saw me pull out my credit card. So maybe bring cash? But after service charge and tip, it was about $18. On the whole, tho, I think it's 3.5 stars.

I had a weird situation happen here. We ordered our food and drink at the same time with the server. I first ordered a Mexican sprite and the female server put it in the tablet that they use to take orders. Then she said we are all out of them so what would I like instead. I then said I'll just stick with water. Then she preceded to say that she couldn't take the drink off the bill without a code that only the manager had, and the manager wasn't there, so could I pick another 4 dollar drink instead.. I said are you sure there's no way to delete the drink. She said no. So I ended up having a jarrito I didn't want for 4 dollars. The server was unwillingly to come up with a good solution and had a negative attitude the rest of the meal. The food was good. But I felt really weird about the situation with the drink. Probably won't go back.

Stopped for lunch. The food was very good. A bit small inside and the service a bit slow but overall a good place to grab a bite.

Food was phenomenal here! Great atmosphere and service. I will be returning on our next trip. Tacos and the flight of dips was delicious.

My wife and I came across Mezkla by happenstance while downtown Holland around lunchtime. There tacos and chicken tortilla soup were delicious. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Decorated nicely for Christmas was a bonus. We'll be back soon. Highly recommended!

I didn't get to try them out as a food truck, but always wanted to and super excited that they have a stationary location. I finally got a chance to come and try it with a friend and her kids. The menu seems bigger than the online. We were lucky that we didn't have to wait because it was busy even though we were approaching 1pm. The service was a little slow as they were experiencing technical issues off the portable machines to place orders through. I ordered 3 tacos - chorizo, steak, and pastor with rice and guacamole. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and it came with 2 salsa options in which we got the hot and medium. Both very flavorful and really enhanced the taste. I was a bit disappointed that with the pastor there was like one chunk of pineapple. I will not turn anyone down that wants to go here to eat and would come again. Prices are a little higher than the average taco.

Most dishes a great and authentically prepared. The guacamole doesn't taste like it was made with fresh avocados though (maybe some mass produced avocado mash product). It's also a weird place. It's set up for counter service, but it has waitstaff. It's pretty confusing to the customers who often approach the counter which is right there by the door. Then a woman snaps at you with a seething glare and directs you to sit down. It gets weirder because then another woman will come to take your order and act totally offended that you are giving her your order. You can bet that whoever brings you your food will make you feel like an unwelcome guest who as most certainly not been invited to dinner. And the grand finale occurs when one of those people that hates you drops off your check and then you sit there for 20 minutes until you realize that you're supposed to...PAY AT THE COUNTER?!?! So if you can survive the emotional abuse from the waitstaff and somehow discern the customs that are unique to this establishment without any reasonable indication of what those customs are, then yes, you will also likely enjoy some good Mexican food (fake guacamole excepted).

Food is absolutely AMAZING! The meat is marinated to perfection! With each bite of the carne asada tacos, you can taste the flavor of the meat. Everything was fresh. Service was also amazing!

We tried Mezkla Taqueria for the first time last weekend. We shared the Elote and I had the burrito and my wife had a pair of tacos. The food was all great and the service was very good and attentive. The space was nice and clean but nothing special. We will defiantly come back.

I would post photos but every time we've been here we were too excited to eat and forgot photos. All the food we've had there has been incredibly delicious from the birria tacos to the empanadas. The tortillas are house made and fresh which makes all the difference! Highly recommend and will be back.

Spectacular food, terrific salsas. Tacos are great. All is fresh, well prepared and attractive on the plate. It's our fifth time here! Highly recommend. Located in downtown Holland, near Sperry theater. Very friendly staff and owners!

We sat in the sidewalk seating on a beautiful day. The service was top notch from the hostess to our server. The food was very good. Most of us got the Torta Asada and it is so good. The prices are quite reasonable and make this a great value. We will be back!

My husband and I had a burrito this past weekend and it was the BEST. It was so flavorful and big. I would definitely get it again. Highly recommend

First, our server Liza was scare. She came and took the order, brought the food and didn't come back until it was time to give the check. I had a Chirozo burrito that was extremely dry. I was waiting for the server to come back but she didn't, thankfully the professional manager came by and I asked for any sauce to put on the burrito. The manager brought a delicious green sauce and refilled our drinks. The sauce on the burrito made it edible but I couldn't eat it all because of the dryness. When the server came back and saw that I did not eat it she said " too spicy for you" took the plate and left the check. First time there and last. The cook may have had a bad night and I accept that, but, the server was not good.

The food was delicious although not very authentic as I thought. The Guacamole and Chips were very good and fresh! I think what got me was the tacos. I had tried 3 different meats; tinga, pastor, & asada. I really enjoyed the flavors but didn't seem to my liking as any other restaurant. Serving was small and a little pricey. The one thing that would take me back would be the Mangonada! It was amazing and creamy. I really enjoyed how friendly and helpful the staffs were! I would recommend to give it a try regardless but from my experience, the food wasn't really as great as a I expected.

Processed my pickup order incorrectly. Had to wait an extra 30 minutes past my original pickup time in the back of the restaurant. No apology whatsoever, no extra item as "we are sorry for that". Staff was rude and dismissive. On top of this, when we recieved our order they forgot 5 dollars worth of side items. Still zero apology. You get better customer service in fast food will NEVER return here after this treatment.

Discovered this great Mexican restaurant downtown. Seating might be limited in busier times but we had no problem. The menu was varied and prices very good. I had a burrito.. Wednesday $3 off.. weighed about 3 lbs!! Delicious and covered in fried cheese ...service was fine and friendly. Will be going back for sure. My new favorite for Mexican

Delicious, fresh food and wonderfully friendly servers! The watermelon water is amazing and the Aquataco was sooo good (w/ pastor). Even though there are several Mexican food establishments in Holland, I'm glad this place is here, it's a healthy option and I'll be back.

Something different for Mexican fare, kind of upscale but I found it to be very tasty. Little spendy for tacos but as I said something different and quite good.

Five stars isn't enough. The food is AMAZING. My husband loves the burrito -- they back it with the cheese on the outside creating a crust. YUM. I love the rice bowl with the chicken -- so good. The guac is amazing too. You know what, everything is good. Just go there and try it.

In an unscale town overrun with brewing eating establishment, Mexkla is a refreshing dining experience. The carefully prepared food is fresh, authentic and delicious. The accomodating staff provide very polite service. This is certainly a restaurant to visit when in Holland, MI. An uplifting decor adds to the experience.

We have eaten here twice. It was recommended to us. Food and service were great both times. Salsas and guacamole are excellent! Margaritas would make it even better.

Best tacos and burritos in Holland!! And the staff is so kind and welcoming. I got two papas tacos and my husband got the steak burrito. The burrito is huge!!!! The tacos are perfectly portioned. 2 tacos and rice and beans were the perfect amount for me. The quality of the ingredients is spectacular- super fresh avocado, fantastic steak, and the sweet potatoes in the papas tacos were cooked perfectly. Can't recommend this spot enough - will be back, maybe as soon as tomorrow!

I've yet to have a bad meal at Mezkla. The food is always amazing. The flavor and presentation is top notch. definitely not your average "Mexican" restauran. The ambience is more of a desert vibe, very well thought out. You can tell that they emphasize on providing the best possible customer service/experience. The staff is always super friendly and very knowledgeable. They have vegan options and also added Mexican Tortas to the menu. So good!!! a word of advice. Keep an eye on their busy hours. you might have to wait for a few minutes to get a table, but well worth it. Better yet, if you're in a big group, call ahead and make reservations.

Great food and service as usual. This place is such a nice addition to downtown holland. The burritos are pretty hard to top, but the bowls and queso are both amazing. Be sure to try the Roja and verde salsas too.

This place is wonderful. Service is warm and inviting. Tacos were outstanding. Pastor seasoned and juicy, tinga also good. Special jalapeño taco is a bacon wrapped popper in a tortilla with onion and cilantro. Fun take. Guacamole is outstanding. Salsas are fresh. Salsa Roja is no joke! Hot hot hot but smoky and delicious. Will be back whenever I'm in Holland.

Mezkla catered a friends wedding. I've been to the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it, and this remained the same for the wedding! Staff were very friendly and professional, as well as prompt. The food was delicious on every level. There were chips, guacamole, salsa, fruits, tacos were chicken, steak, cactus, with self-serve topping options. Even the fruit was amazing and fresh, which was a pleasant surprise for the season! Multiple people told me how much they enjoyed the food, and a few said the guacamole was some of the best they've had (I agree - Mezkla's is my favorite). Can't wait to get them again!

Simple menu, big flavors. I ordered an asada rice bowl with two salsas: the jalapeño verde and cebolla (pickled red onion). Mixed with the base ingredients there was a TON of flavor. We also ordered the elote (the hot sauce on this is phenomenal) and a burrito. Everyone was happy with their food. The only thing missing was something super simple for our little guy - but they whipped up a quick quesadilla for him and it all worked out.
