Mezquita Mayor de Granada

I had a wonderful and blessed experience at the Mezquita Mayor in Granada. I arrived a little before Maghrib and enjoyed the stunning view from the mosque’s gardens: the Alhambra in front of me, framed by the Sierra Nevada in the distance. Even though the area outside was full of tourists, the view remained incredible. As Maghrib approached, I went inside to pray and was struck by the mosque’s beauty and simplicity. It isn’t a large mosque, but it’s spacious, serene, and exceptionally clean. What moved me the most happened after the prayer. I returned to the gardens and learned that they close the area during prayer time. So when they reopened, I was able to watch the sunset in complete peace, surrounded only by fellow Muslims. It was a truly special moment. May Allah reward everyone who contributed and still contribute to this beautiful mosque.

What a great experience on jumma prayer at this mosque. I went with my husband for Friday prayer. The ladies section was quite a big area with wudhu facilities. Nice and clean bathroom and toilets. The mosque area was beautiful with gorgeous views. There is a small cafe inside a mosque and also a big wending machine of food and drink. We spend couple of hours there..would love to visit again. It's open for every tourist not only for Muslim and it's free as well.

The Mezquita de Granada is an absolute highlight of the city! The architecture is breathtaking and the atmosphere is very peaceful. But what really impressed me was the view at sunset and the perfect view to the Alhambra!! The setting sun casts a warm, golden light over the mosque and the surrounding gardens, offering an unparalleled sight. It's a moment full of tranquility and spirituality. I highly recommend visiting the Mezquita at sunset - it's an experience you won't forget

A stunning and peaceful place with incredible architecture and breathtaking views over the Alhambra and the city. The mosque is not only a spiritual space but also a cultural gem that reflects the rich history of Granada. The gardens are serene, and the atmosphere is welcoming. A must-visit for anyone exploring the city.

One of the most beautiful mosques in Europe nestled in view of the Alhambra. Come and get tea and dessert at the gift shop and sit in the garden, you will be transformed back to the time of the Moors and a culture of mutual respect and religious tolerance. If you dress modestly, learn the cultural mores of the Muslim community (how to pray or make “dhikr” ) you will be welcomed to worship inside. You will feel God’s presence!

Not very big, but a lovely mosque, mashaallah. It is only open during prayer times. The garden in front of the mosque is well-maintained and beautiful. May Allah preserve this mosque.

Mashaallah such a Beautiful mosque🥰🥰, we had an opportunity to visit and pray inside during our visit in Granada. The women’s prayer room was big and spacious, with wudu and bathrooms. The mosque compound was also clean and the garden too. I love the fact that they had a small introduction to Islam on the walls for non muslims. Bonus: we could also see the whole of Granada because the mosque was built on a high surface, a nice view . May Allah everyone who is taking of the mosque❤️

I have left a piece of my heart in this beautiful mosque. I was in Granada for few days. Couldn’t stop myself going there everyday.InshaAllah, we wish to there again... This small mosque has captured time and sentiments of andalusian muslims. The small shop, the garden, the court yard, the view at anytime - everything there gives you a feeling of sukoon. May Allah protect this place. Ameen.
